If you want to do proper freediving pool training, you can join the group Barxruku on Facebook and do it 7.45pm thur nights at Graham Condon pool. You'll need mask, snorkel and freedive fins (long fins),it's called Barxruku pool training on Facebook.
@joey2658 no there aren't any deep public pools in chch. You have to wait till they finish the metro sports complex on moorhouse Ave. It will have a 5m deep diving pool.
Only way to learn, def wouldn't advise anyone to climb onto Rocks like this, it only leads to lost and scraped up gear. Resting can done on a float away from a surge and wave. I have used a 5 doller Pool tube in a pinch and seen others use a body board
Be mind of that bull kelp it's better to dive it in mid to high tide, not really a fan of diving around that stuff my self plus we don't get much of the bull kelp up the north island but good content bro.
She needs to get some time up in flat water, in the harbour or lake. Masks live around your neck not on your head . Had a similar experience with a Japanese guy diving on the coast, all the gear no idea.
I couldn’t afford the bigger guns, and have a shorter 1, but found it’s perfect for Banks Peninsula But concentrate on 1 thing at a time, spear, paua/kina or crays.
your amazing bro keeping your team safe is key. nice work bringing everyone home safely
Appreciate that, I didn't really do the diving I wanted to do , as I was keeping an eye on Ying most of the time.
Good to see you starting to do some real diving. Definitely some nice spots on that outer coast.
Thank you for sharing your experience
Great video, I`m still practicing my kicking in the pool😆

Yeah if we were in the exact same spot on mid or high tide, it would've been fine. But on a very low tide it almost caused a big problem
When getting bashed by the swell you need to swim away from the shore n rocks away from the white wash
