so, taeyong in top 10 right now? I think he has excellent vocal technique for moonlight. still far from top 5 like taeil-xiaojun-doyoung-haechan- renjun. but soon or later I think he could put his ranking above jaehyun, yuta, jungwoo, chenle and kun.
Jaehyun is only Baritone in NCT. His technique is incredible. He is in top 4 with Xiaojun And the most importantly, he is Main vocal with Doyoung and Taeil in 127

Xiaojun's supported range E3-F4/F#4 is even wider than Jaehyun that supported C#3-C#4/D4. Taeil is better than Doyoung these day. Doyoung is better than Taeil above G#4/A4 only. Taeil takes the rest like low register, agility, placement, tonality, resonance, etc. The rank kinda : Taeil>Doyoung>>Xiaojun>/=Jaehyun>>>Haechan>/=Jungwoo>>Yuta I prefer to give little edge to Xiaojun and Haechan because of his vocal range, but they and their tier are obviously interchangable.

i think one of the most interesting things about nct vocally is seeing jisung grow into his deep voice and transition from a rap position to a vocalist in dream. of course he doesn’t have the abilities of the main vocals but it really shows how hard he has worked and how well sm vocal trainers are at their job

Jaehyun at 11 is crazy bro. In terms of crazy riffs and runs, Jaehyun isn’t a tenor. His mixed is possibly the best in the group, and he might have the best breath support and the best initiation out of any vocalist. Putting him at 11 would be like putting ten at 11 for best dancers in the group
Taeil is always be the best vocalist in NCT because of : 1. The most agile/flexible/versatile voice in NCT 2. The most sustaining highest and longest notes in every NCT song where he is included. 3. Handle the most difficult vocal part in NCT song where he is included. 4. Have widest supported range C#3/D3 - G#4/A4. He can support down C3 but barely singing in that range. An update for NCT's supported range: •Taeil is now had C#3 and up to A4. However, his A4 is not fully consistent. •Doyoung is now had Eb3 and up to B4. Doyoung Bb4 and B4 are not fully consistent, although he had more materials for Bb4, some of it is full of tension and other may sound passable. And his Eb3 sometimes are airy. •Jaehyun had B2 up to G#4. Nonetheless, his G#4 supported remained unexplored for me and not consistent. •Xiaojun had F3 up to G#4. On the contrary, he is lack of material for his G#4 but still not that bad. •Haechan is now had E3 supported, still lack of material but not that awful. •Jungwoo had now F4 supported, but it is inconsistent.
This is your opinion, but in reality Doyoung is far beyond better than Xiaojun. In Universe we heard, how Xiaojun's high note is so powerful. But, Doyoung's belted note for this song is much more technical than him. And during their recording, probably Doyoung has a problem with his vocal because since December 2020 until 2021 Doyoung has a lots of projects. That's why we see the tiredness of his vocal. But we are lucky that this year end of 2021 or in the mid of December, Doyoung's vocal is getting back to be okay.

In terms of nasal issue, probably Haechan. But in Doyoung's case, it is a rare to happen. Since debut of NCT, Doyoung has the less nasal issue and praise by vocal analyst for having NCT's vocalist with a better placement. Placement refers to having good vocal and breathing control. But, nasal issue is common for a singer.

May I ask? What is your criteria to rank Xiaojun higher than Doyoung? Based on my observation Xiaojun didn't improve a lot for past year. I did not see him with massive growth of his vocals. He is still nasal, inconsistent of his support, pushy and even airy with his low range. His mixed voice is the only thing that I could say he improves. More or less, talking the gap between Doyoung and Xiaojun are really huge. If the basis of who is the best main vocalist of NCT, it could be Doyoung rather than Taeil or Xiaojun. Because Doyoung has better upper register than the rests. In terms of best vocalist, Taeil and Doyoung could be a par. They are both technically better. Taeil can support down to C#3 while Doyoung can go up to B4. Due to Doyoung is lack of stylistic choice, people often misjudge him.
I mean if you’re gonna take winwin’s vocals into consideration I feel like it’s a crime not to include king of hearts which is probably his most impressive showcased vocal I would’ve put Winwin higher than hendery and Jisung over Mark but besides that I agree with this ranking

You have that point Xiaojun can't be ranked two as of this era. The distance between him to Taeil and Doyoung is extremely wider. But he has so much potential and need to fix his low supported range and his nasal issue. These are the most common issue that I have heard from him.

An update for NCT's supported range:
•Taeil is now had C#3 and up to A4. However, his A4 is not fully consistent.
•Doyoung is now had Eb3 and up to B4. Doyoung Bb4 and B4 are not fully consistent, although he had more materials for Bb4, some of it is full of tension and other may sound passable. And his Eb3 sometimes are airy.
•Jaehyun had B2 up to G#4. Nonetheless, his G#4 supported remained unexplored for me and not consistent.
•Xiaojun had F3 up to G#4. On the contrary, he is lack of material for his G#4 but still not that bad.
•Haechan is now had E3 supported, still lack of material but not that awful.
•Jungwoo had now F4 supported, but it is inconsistent.
Taeil best vocalist from NCT with who has big support from low note C#3 up to belted note G#4/A4.
Both Doyoung and Taeil has wider supported range in NCT, Doyoung had Eb3-B4. But Doyoung at his best around Eb3-A4/Bb4.
xiaojun could take doyoung usual position, but no one can't take taeil position. xiaojun more better day by day
This is your opinion, but in reality Doyoung is far beyond better than Xiaojun. In Universe we heard, how Xiaojun's high note is so powerful. But, Doyoung's belted note for this song is much more technical than him. And during their recording, probably Doyoung has a problem with his vocal because since December 2020 until 2021 Doyoung has a lots of projects. That's why we see the tiredness of his vocal. But we are lucky that this year end of 2021 or in the mid of December, Doyoung's vocal is getting back to be okay.
@@chenseanctzens3535 I know I'm a Doyoung stan and of course I'll like his voice better. But yeah, what you said is true. Xiaojun's voice is amazing, like super amazing. But they can't deny the fact that doie's vocal range is super hella impressive that he can pull off any genre and still sound amazing.
Maybe if just talking about pure vocal ability then xiaojun can be on top cuz he can hit high notes with ease and hit them beautifully. But when it comes to the skill, technique and range, I'll go with Doyoung 😅

Jae and Doyoung are on the same level vocally, jae is a baritone so he gets to shine less than doyoung.
Although Haechans fans make him seem like the best singer in the world, thats not the case. He has a unique voice, but he still lacks in technique
Doyoung is now better than Taeil. Obviously stated. Taeil's support is not comfortable for him, the strained of his vocal is overheard. And he is only supported with A4. Unlike to Doyoung, he can support with Bb4, his support is not strained than Taeil. Not because Doyoung's vocal register is not on the same level with other members, it does not mean he is not a really good vocalist.In reality, Doyoung has wider range compared them. Doyoung is not on the same level of Jaehyun since 2020, maybe you can't moveon about that. I think Jaehyun is still better than Xiaojun, technicqlly. Jae has consistent support and stable than him. And even vocal analyst says that.

@@bentenv7524 I have seen mark go into a mix voice ,but taeyong's upper range is underexplored and isn't showcased much, also I don't know how am I suppose to judge accurately when it is studio ver. .Also mark has a better pitch and have better control when he goes a bit up
Xiajoun is actually a find of NCT.....the way he's hitting the lower and higher notes....he's a god level vocalist
Moreover I think after Jaehyun.....Xiajoun has the best lower notes.....he's absolutely a gem

The order in lower register kinda like this :

Taeil has the best lower because as a tenor, he can support down C3 and D3 consistently. The next is Jaehyun who can support B2 and C#3 consistently, but he is bariton and expected support more down. Both Doyoung and Xiaojun are tier in low register coz they can support down Eb3 and E3 consistently

Jaehyun is baritone who can support higher because he gives more effort to engage support. He can actually support F4/F#4 for safe.
Taeil support down D3 consistently and Jaehyun C#3 for consistently. They are close each other in low register. But, Taeil is considered better because he is tenor and his below D3 fuller than Jaehyun below C#3. Atleast, Taeil can support C#3 sometimes. There are no more C3 from Taeil because he is barely singing that lower.

In terms of nasal issue, probably Haechan. But in Doyoung's case, it is a rare to happen. Since debut of NCT, Doyoung has the less nasal issue and praise by vocal analyst for having NCT's vocalist with a better placement. Placement refers to having good vocal and breathing control. But, nasal issue is common for a singer.
Haechan's nasality and Doyoung's placement in the backward. They are trouble in that issue. That is why they can't be #1.

Based on my observation Xiaojun didn't improve a lot for past year. I did not see him with massive growth of his vocals. He is still nasal, inconsistent of his support, pushy and even airy with his low range. His mixed voice is the only thing that I could say he improves.
More or less, talking the gap between Doyoung and Xiaojun are really huge. If the basis of who is the best main vocalist of NCT, it could be Doyoung rather than Taeil or Xiaojun. Because Doyoung has better upper register than the rests.
In terms of best vocalist, Taeil and Doyoung could be a par. They are both technically better. Taeil can support down to C#3 while Doyoung can go up to B4. Due to Doyoung is lack of stylistic choice, people often misjudge him.

I mean if you’re gonna take winwin’s vocals into consideration I feel like it’s a crime not to include king of hearts which is probably his most impressive showcased vocal I would’ve put Winwin higher than hendery and Jisung over Mark but besides that I agree with this ranking

I don't think Xiaojun can be that high ranking, you can see the recording behind scene of universe, his high note is not that stable and i think his singing technique is not that perfect enough to be ranked as 2.

You have that point Xiaojun can't be ranked two as of this era. The distance between him to Taeil and Doyoung is extremely wider. But he has so much potential and need to fix his low supported range and his nasal issue. These are the most common issue that I have heard from him.
