The Shakespeare quoting made me laugh so hard. “Wherefore”, obviously, translates into “Why”, so Hailey basically said: “Romeo, O’ Romeo, why are you Romeo?” “Literally this book haul”.
Em J That’s actually a common misconception! Every why hath a wherefore :D On the balcony, Juliet is not asking where her Romeo is, but why he must be Romeo/ a Montague (For a rose by any other name would smell as sweet).
Em J no, it translates to why. Juliette is asking why he is Romeo, meaning why is that his name because she wants him to be anyone else so that they can be together.
the two boy princes you're thinking of at 10:30 are Edward V (King of England) and his brother Richard, who were disposed of in the Tower of London and conveniently "disappeared" and so Richard III, Duke of Glouster (their uncle) became King of England :)
So, who do you think really killed the boys in tower? Richard, Margret Beaufort, or Anne Neville? I love asking people’s opinions and theories, because in reality we will never actually know! Sorry HUGE history buff
Lovely question, I'm so happy! I honestly don't know much about Margret Beaufort's and Anne Neville's character, so I don't really know much about the roles they played (my focus is Shakespeare, so I never really looked at the women when I studied the Tudor myth - plus I'm from Germany so I never learned about this in school, either ^^'). History has branded RIII as a very unlikeable, selfish, maybe even power-obsessed man which would make the convenient disposal of EdV & brother feasable. However, I don't know if RIII really was "that bad" (and if he was, if it was of his own volition or if his wife and/or advisers took a big part in that). So in my opinion, I do think that RIII killed the boys (or gave the command for it), but mostly because I don't know enough about any of the other contestants!
Erdnussbuttertoast I know, it’s all so fascinating, I’m also a little obsessed with Perkin Warbeck and so many others from that time! This is why I’m going to school for archaeology, I have a thirst to know more!
OH MY GOSH Blood Water Paint was SO fantastic. I read it a couple of days ago in one sitting and immediately wanted to reread it. It’s super short and fantastic and I want everyone to pick it up now. I hope you get to read it soon!
Amy Louise i feel exactly the same! I read that book last weekend in one day and cried. I had a library copy and I immediately purchased the book as soon as I finished it because I totally need to read it again ASAP
I literally want to read everything you hauled I keep up with your book hauls religiously!! Your so lucky I'm going definitely look Into getting some of those📕📖💗
i am from italy and i loved your pronunciation of the name artemisia gentileschi 😂 even if it's wrong, it was so cute how you struggled! the same as i do with english names hahahaha
*Stopping by B&N in the morning to get Always Never Yours on my way to work...at the used bookstore* 😂. I love Romeo and Juliet..my daughters name is Juliet.
In relation to Isle of Blood and Stone, that bit of British history you're thinking of is the missing princes in the tower who were believed to be murdered by Richard III, and I also happened to think of that when you mentioned princes who were supposed to be dead. Whilst that is the common theory, no one really knows for sure though. It's a bit of history I've always been fascinated by, especially as it happened during the Wars of the Roses and I live right near the Red Rose county border. I'd love to read up on it when I get the chance. Secondly, I always end up writing such a long to-buy list whenever I watch one of your haul videos. There look to be some amazing books that I can't wait to check out.
a-dreamer's-library I don’t think anyone knows - it’s all a mystery! On the one hand, they did unearth two children’s skeletons. But on the other hand, someone claimed later to be one of the boys and was supported by various relatives, including his aunt...
Love your book hauls! But I do wonder, since you buy so many books, do have any money left to buy anything else? XD If yes, could you show us a haul about that? I'd love to see what else brightens your day, love you
In the lies you never told me, my name is spelled the exact same way, Elyse. Usually I see it spelled Elise, eliese, elisse or elysse, so it's really cool to see my name in a book definitely makes me want to read that book!!
Richard III killed the two rightful heirs to the throne (presumably)! He had them locked away in the palace (I think London Tower? Can't remember which one 😂) and when historians were poking around at some point in either the 19th or 20th century they found the skeletons of two young boys and the Royals and pretty much most of England was like "nope, you can't test on those skeletons" because it's assumed the skeletons are those of the young princes and they want to respect them, BUT when Richard III's grave was found under a parking lot everyone was like "go for it. Test all you want" because he was an ASS. So interesting!!!
Meghan Kirkland " because he was an ASS " that line made me laugh 😂😂😂 I completely agree with you . I read about the missing princes too but I don't remember much now ( I need to refresh). It's 2018 though , I think it's time people allow the examinations
Kamalika Talukdar Hahha yeah I don’t totally remember everything but it's super interesting to read about! And I think now it's almost like they wouldn't want to test in case they're proved wrong about the identities
I'm gonna be that person who points out that "wherefore art thou" means "why" not "where". So the actual phrasing would be "Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou, Romeo? Because retellings are fantastic and therefore I need like ten Romeos." You're haul looks great!! So glad I subscribed! I know I'm getting a couple books at the end of the month - The True Queen, by Sarah Fine, Bright We Burn, - the third And I Darken book, and A Torch Against the Night and MAYBE A Reaper at the Gates if I can afford it. :D
You're the best 💞 Your videos are such an inspiration to mine! ALSO I LOVE UR LIP COLOR!! All these books look so good, you make me add so much to my tbr 😂😂
you are so nice and smart and yes 2 princes they belived was killed at tower of London after being done not eligible to the crown i was in London last fall and read the story and it was the uncle who did it
Whoaaaa! That is truly a JUMBO haul! 😍😍😍 I love all the books you got. Took me twice as long to finish watching this video because I kept going to Amazon to add these to my wishlist. 😉 I'm having a JUMBO book haul this week too. There's a sale on Saturday on pre-loved books and there's going to be so much love over there! 😍😍😍
I'm reading Legendary right now and it's AMAZING. You should pick it up soon!! Also I think you meant Donatella because the first book was in Scarlett's view, but I'm sure you realized lol
You should definitely check out Burial Rites by Hannah Kent. It’s an amazing story based of the real events of the illugustadir murders and the last execution in Iceland. Very powerful book
I had to read Brown Girl Dreaming for school and I finished it last week. I honestly didn’t like it because the entire time I felt like I was waiting for the story to happen and you never really learn about the characters. I wouldn’t recommend it😬
You are thinking of the Boys in the Tower King Edwards the IVs eldest sons, after he died his son Edward the V was named king so he and his younger brother were put in the Tower of London and one night they disappeared without a trace most assume their uncle, Richard the III, had them killed to secure the crown for himself. Who Henry the VII defected in battle which put the Tudors back on the throne.
I had to read If You Come Softly in my YA Lit class, and it sounded like an extremely good and powerful story; however, I was severely disappointed. The book is way too short to cover the ideas that Woodson addresses, and she never fully develops them. I was not a fan of it, but it's always worth a shot.
Hi! New sub here! Was just wondering if you have ever read the thousandth floor by Katherine mcgee? Its the first of a trilogy and the third book comes out this august. It is my absolute favorite book!
Beautiful Books I got the first 2 for Christmas years ago read the second one thinking it was the first one reread the second after reading the first then my mom ordered out for blood for me I got 3 more to go
I hate Furyborn, interesting concept, bland characters and easy to see through events. We already know the twist, and who cares about anything with Eliana, and all the trials for Rielle are so similar that nobody cares.
The Shakespeare quoting made me laugh so hard. “Wherefore”, obviously, translates into “Why”, so Hailey basically said:

Katie'sBookCorner ??? “Wherefore” translates to where...?

Katie'sBookCorner yes I noticed that too haha!
I don’t why I watch book hauls anymore because all it does is just makes my tbr bigger than it is 😂😂😂😂but this was an awesome video 😝
Little do we know that we will buy that many books when we enter a book store.📚📚
Time to add like 15 books to my tbr
Cata Appiani Don’t read Furyborn. It’s bad. Really bad.
LOL as she was talking about the books, I was switching back and forth to Goodreads and my TBR list
Lauren Baptista yep, I open TH-cam, I open goodreads :)
That brightly burning description was justttttt the best!!!
the two boy princes you're thinking of at 10:30 are Edward V (King of England) and his brother Richard, who were disposed of in the Tower of London and conveniently "disappeared" and so Richard III, Duke of Glouster (their uncle) became King of England :)

Emily Trigg Exactly!! I did the exact same thing haha. It’s one of my new favorites of all time. I love it!
Actually Legendary is told from Donatella’s view. The Caraval was about Scarlett.😂😅
Blood Water Paint sounds absolutely amazing!
Yasssss book haul
I literally want to read everything you hauled I keep up with your book hauls religiously!! Your so lucky I'm going definitely look Into getting some of those📕📖💗
I’m obsessed with your hair color!!!
"would it be one of my book hauls if it wasn't giant"
ahaha love your huge book hauls
Watching this on holiday with expensive data but so worth it!!
Yes! There were two boys in line to the throne (Edward V and Richard of Shrewery) who were killed by their uncle, Richard during the war of the roses
The perfect list of books! Thank you ❤
I love your book hauls because I never know what books are out
i am from italy and i loved your pronunciation of the name artemisia gentileschi 😂 even if it's wrong, it was so cute how you struggled! the same as i do with english names hahahaha
*Stopping by B&N in the morning to get Always Never Yours on my way to work...at the used bookstore* 😂. I love Romeo and Juliet..my daughters name is Juliet.
the leviathan trilogy is one of my absolute favorites!!!!! I think you will really like it!!
I'm so happy you liked Always Never Yours, I'll be reading it in the summer!
I saw some new books! I may add some of them in Goodreads.
YOURE SHIRT IS SO CUTE!!
I think you should read and review save the date by Morgan Matson
Athaya Irfan Morgan is an amazing person.
As soon as you mentioned the book i knew exactly what you meant it sounds like its based off the princes in the tower
isle of blood and stone sounds sooo good. i love those kind of books where everything seems like its gonna be interconnected
In relation to Isle of Blood and Stone, that bit of British history you're thinking of is the missing princes in the tower who were believed to be murdered by Richard III, and I also happened to think of that when you mentioned princes who were supposed to be dead. Whilst that is the common theory, no one really knows for sure though. a-dreamer's-library I’ve always been fascinated by this history as well. It’s so tragic, but there’s always the slim chance they escaped...
Have you watched The White Queen miniseries? It's a little cheesy but I really enjoyed it. Based on some Phillipa Gregory books.
I've read the book, but not seen the miniseries - cheesy and fun sounds great - I'll have to hunt it down, thank you :)
Yeah there is, but I don't really know what theory to believe as it is not something I've read all that much about.
a-dreamer's-library I don’t think anyone knows - it’s all a mystery! On the one hand, they did unearth two children’s skeletons. But on the other hand, someone claimed later to be one of the boys and was supported by various relatives, including his aunt...
Yay for book hauls!!!
always never yours is my perfect summer read too :D so cute and adorable
I need to read Furyborn! I can’t wait to hear more of what you think of it.
I am so excited for Save the Date...
Sammmme!

Me too!
I've read always never yours and I absolutely adored it
Love your book hauls! But I do wonder, since you buy so many books, do have any money left to buy anything else? XD If yes, could you show us a haul about that? I'd love to see what else brightens your day, love you
Ludmila Guimarães She gets sent a lot of them
Semelie I know and I think that's awesome! But she still buys lots of them every month, so just wondering

Mapping the bones sounds like Mischling by Affinity Konar.
In the lies you never told me, my name is spelled the exact same way, Elyse. Usually I see it spelled Elise, eliese, elisse or elysse, so it's really cool to see my name in a book definitely makes me want to read that book!!
I'm currently reading Ash Princess! I'm already so invested in it and I want to know where this is going!
You should check out The Great Library series by Rachel Caine

THE PRINCES IN THE TOWER
Richard III killed the two rightful heirs to the throne (presumably)! He had them locked away in the palace (I think London Tower? Can't remember which one 😂) and when historians were poking around at some point in either the 19th or 20th century they found the skeletons of two young boys and the Royals and pretty much most of England was like "nope, you can't test on those skeletons" because it's assumed the skeletons are those of the young princes and they want to respect them, BUT when Richard III's grave was found under a parking lot everyone was like "go for it. Kamalika Talukdar Hahha yeah I don’t totally remember everything but it's super interesting to read about! And I think now it's almost like they wouldn't want to test in case they're proved wrong about the identities
Hi Hailey! Can you please do the Missing Books Challenge that jessethereader just did on his channel?? Your bookshelf would be perfect for it!
I'm gonna be that person who points out that "wherefore art thou" means "why" not "where". So the actual phrasing would be "Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou, Romeo? Because retellings are fantastic and therefore I need like ten Romeos."

I had to read Brown Girl Dreaming for school and I finished it last week. I honestly didn’t like it because the entire time I felt like I was waiting for the story to happen and you never really learn about the characters. I wouldn’t recommend it😬

I shouldn't watch book hauls cause it makes my tbr way to long 😂
Love your videos!!!!!!
2nd comment from me....Undead Girl Gang isnt really a zombie ZOMBIE story. It’s more contemporary with a dash of zombie....no brain eating.
Love books, booktube and your channel😍
So much to read
So little money😥
#brokeCollegeGirl

All of your books are hardcovers
