That was my first GPS! It's not a bad thing to get into speed runs with but obviously it's not as accurate as the skyrc one everyone uses now. Infact when I got the skyrc I compared them both and at 120+mph the meilan was always behind by up to 20mph! but if you just wanna see how fast ye normal rcs are it's perfect. And it does actually go over 100mph! Think I saw 115ish on mine but I stopped using it after that. Good review dude 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Good evening! I stand corrected about the 99.9mph limit then, that's good to know. Yeah it's literally just for measuring a difference rather than being super accurate. When I bought it I knew it wasn't going to be as good. That sort of makes sense as well because I get the impression it under reads a little. Thank you very much, and appreciate your input! 👍👍
@@theminiatureconstructionco4556 It doesn't really under read it's just the time it takes to register the speed. It has latency if that's the right word?? If you drive quickly up to say 60mph a second or 2 later the GPS will say 60. But if you drive up to 60 then slam on the brakes because the GPS hasn't caught up it'll only show what it was a second or 2 before you started slowing down so like 55 or something. You have to hold that top speed for a good few seconds to get an accurate reading. And it will be accurate too it's just a bit slow 👍🏻
@@ksrnate yes you hit the nail on the head.I have one, and I love it! It’s wicked tough! It’s very accurate, but there is a slight delay. I’ve compared it to the Speedo in my truck and it s like a second behind reading. It’s a great deal at $30. I’d can’t see paying $80 plus dollars for a very minor delay! Great review!
@@ksrnate I had heard that the refresh rate was approx once a second which would make sense as it looks to change at that rate. Where as the skyrc one was something like 5 times. 👍
ThankYou - great video! Bargain for testing RC setups. I am a cyclist as well as just getting into RC cars - just ordered one. Currently £24 if you do a search -one could print a3D holder for a relevant chassis as well :)
If your RC car Top Speed is expected to be over 100 mph, this will not work for you. Look at the display it has two digits. I own a RLAARLO 917, so this is no good for me, sadly. Top Speeds of the upgraded RLAARLO 787 - 917 is near 190 mph... lol.
I've just discovered what happens when you reach 100 mph. The display will show top speed but no decimal percent of a mph. So this will actually display 100 mph or greater speeds, thanks.
Just what I have been after, cheers fella.
No worries my friend. Thanks for taking the time to comment. 👍

This is true. I've just had it in a ziplock bag testing a boat! Reasonable piece of kit. Accurate enough for me anyway! 😄👍
@@theminiatureconstructionco4556 thats why i bought it for my rc boat speed runs!! You got boat videos?
@@michaeljohnson254 yes I've got a couple. I have been toying with doing some speed runs with them. 👍😄
@@theminiatureconstructionco4556 hell yeah thats whats up ima be making bunch vids and editing them soon
Very cool 👍 👌 😎
Thank you! Yes it's not a bed piece of kit for the money! 👍
cool gps and review
Thank you very much! And thanks for your input! 👍👍
Good bargain find. Seems like a good cheap option.
Yes it's a nice entry into testing top speeds. No super accurate but very affordable! 👍🙋
Can I join this to my phone?
Unfortunately not, it's just a stand alone Speedo. 👍👍
Nice
