Fun fact : Congo did not belong to Belgium (at the beginning), it belonged to King Leopold II, like it was his personal property.

for the people wondering why Germany kept taking over Belgium it's mainly due to it being a good way bypass french defenses since the French heavily fortified their border with Germany but left the Belgium border basically defensless.
Belgium was one of the main battlefields throughout European history because of it's central location and passable low land surface.
The 100 years of peace from Napoleons end to WW1 wasn't normal but the exception.

The reason why Belgium got the Congo was actually because Germany, France and the UK couldn’t agree on who should get those lands and because Leopold of Belgium previously led expeditions to the Congo, they agreed to just give it to Belgium.
Also worth knowing they instead given to the Belgian King because he wanted it as his private possession, Belgium didn't have it until 1908 after King's massacre over the Congo Free State.

This video was great! The map and the countryballs both looked good, the animation is really good, the music fits well and it's interesting to watch.
The only thing missing that I would've liked to see is the annexation of Neutral Moresnet and Eupen-Malmedy but I still loved the video.
