I built almost an identical set up. I used 1/4” thick lifting points for some electrical gear that were darn near the same design as your plates. But mine has an eyelet that drops below where the bumper is. Then welded a 1/4x1-1/2 square tube as the tie in.
Yeah I don’t ether. They completely destroy the approach angle too. On my Comanche I’m planning on building a winch bumper that is recessed into the front grill. The plan is to get it as close to the radiator as possible.
Welcome to the TH-cam space 😃 I am gonna almost try to copy your bumper/recovery points here due to budget being a big factory and needing some recover points for my adventures this summer
Thanks! Yeah the budget is a big factor for me too. Well I know my front recovery points work. I pulled out a 4 wheeler out at sand hollow this week with it haha Good luck making yours!
@@wrenchestoadventures ya I just wanna kinda use what I have and be unique as well since I try and prove a point with my Jeep that don’t need to much money in a Jeep to go and have fun and do some of the harder stuff if your smart and spend your money wisely
@@wrenchestoadventures thank you I also don’t have much experience welding so I feel like this will be a decent project to really start getting a hang of it. But thank you keep up the great video man I spent hours last night watching all your content
Yeah, I’m also learning to weld as I go too. Just take your time with it and it’ll turn out great. Also thanks for all the support. I’m going to keep cranking out the videos. I have a lot welding coming up soon too.
@@wrenchestoadventures of course man. And ya I’ve hardly done any welding so got a lot of stuff to learn and get figured out for sure. And just gotta find time it’s rough with a full time job and being a dad to such a young daughter but hopefully before summer I wanna have some stuff built for sure

Awesome! Yeah, I really wanted a low profile look to it. Sounds like you had the same idea!
@@wrenchestoadventures yessir not a big fan of the winch bumpers that stick out like an underbite

Nice work dude! The finished product looks so clean.
Thanks
Nice work, so clean looking. Congrats on the new channel! Looking forward to following you along.
Thanks, I'm hoping to have a new video every week.
