Thank you for the video. They have made the EGR valve much easier to access on this OM642 than the earlier ones. My Jeep has the OM642 and the EGR valve is at the rear of the engine. It is a nightmare to get at.
Thank you very much Mr kits but i have my question. How do i get the ECU pin outs of cars (Toyota car engines 1zz,1kz,2kd,1kd,1nz,2zr,1gd,2gd,) and wiring diagrams
@@KITS_Auto_and_Truck_Repair can you please help? I have a 2010 Freightliner Mercedes Sprinter Van 2500. Just learned that the previous owner disconnected the SRS from the computer. The CPU is tampered with. I want to know if I correct this issue and have it reprogrammed will this negative impact my van? I'm not sure why someone will disconnect the computer in the first place? What are they hiding? Any advice would be great! I just need some answers before I decide on what I should do next. Thanks in advance.
Thanks, I am a DIY home mechanic/tech and I have never replaced an EGR valve before. This would give anyone confidence in repairing modern vehicles.🦋 Just curious, how much is that new OEM EGR valve cost - you don't have to give a figure, just an indication was it cheap, average or quite pricey. Back in the day, most Mercedes-Benz OEM parts were as cheap as chips!🐞
You never mentioned the check engine light being on nor if it clears on its own after the new egr was installed. Im replacing mine now on my 2015 with 130,000 miles, hope this fixes the check engine light issue as 3 codes say its egr issues, cleaning didnt fix, now trying new aftermarket at cost of $283.00 cant afford the dealer cost of $800+. As this still may not fix issue, seems to be a guessing game sometimes with these sprinters, even the dealer has done other repairs and got it wrong, so had to limp mode back to dealer. Thanks for the vid though it was helpful.
Thanks Mr kit for teaching us ❤. keep it up
@user-go2td4hg8o My Pleasure! Thanks
What may I ask should you expect from the engine performance with an EGR valve not functioning correctly? Great illustration… thank you
@commshopctr My Pleasure! a Defective EGR valve can cause rough idle, low boost codes and DPF Regen issues etc...
Is that a diesel engine?
Thank you for the video.

I’ve seen other videos where they just dissemble and clean current EGR valves. Are you not a fan of cleaning?
@MichaelWilliams-ro9bm No, it only works temporarily
Did you have to program the EGR valve
@carloscalderon5548 No just plug and play, but some models require a teach in process
