THE GETRAG IS ACTUALLY A REAL GOOD TRANS IF KEPT PROPERLY I HAVE 5 OF THESE TRUCK I KEEP UP AND RUNNING AND AFTER HAVING TO BUILD TWO OF THESE TRANNY'S I FOUND OUT GEAR LUBE IS NOT THE PROPER OIL TO USE AFTER CHANGING TO 10W40 MOTOR OIL BACK IN 96 I'VE NEVER HAD TO REMOVE ANY OF THE TRANSMISSION'S BECAUSE OF GRINDING UNTO GEAR
Would be really thinking about front main seal and highly suggest doing the kdp fix(killer dowl pin). To prevent any possibility of it happening, I just did my front and kdp, pan gasket, and about to do the rear main and valve cover gasket. Which is gonna suck cause I gotta pull my g56 6spd swap out to do it
Hey man I’m just starting to put a 4500 onto my 93 12 valve, I bought it from a guy and it has a south bend, and a fly wheel stamped south bend as well… my adapter doesn’t fully fit, I can only get 6/8 of the bolts in. Is that normal?

Good job, I have a 99 2500 Cummins with 185,000 on it and at this point there are no oil leaks (knock on wood).

@@garrett271799 doesn’t have kdp issue. That’s a 12v issue
Just curious do you have the 7" frame or 10" frame? If 7" did you have to put a body lift to fit the trans. Thanks

ill be doing that in the spring on my 93, no going back after driving one.
