@@sonianeiva8438 Not at all. This is their ceremonial uniform (Of COURSE it's ostentatious!). As a fighting unit they would be 'mounted' in armoured vehicles.
The troopers with the scarlet tunics and white plumes are from The Lifeguards Regiment, those in blue tunics and red plumes are from The Blues and Royals Regiment. The others, with white feathered plumes in their hats are high-ranking officers, more than likely Lord Lieutenants (the Monarch's representative in every Shire and County in the UK). The few there were probably from the Home Counties (Counties surrounding London). There were some there in (very) tight-fitting tunics with a lot of gold braid across their chest, wearing a (short) bearskin hat (shako) with a straight red or white plume. They are from the Royal Horse Artillery. There was one man there with a red tunic and tall bearskin hat. He is an officer from the foot-guards. They ride with one hand so that the sabre can be used: They're 'ready for action'. (They fought, dressed like this during the Battle of Waterloo!). The band, ON HORSEBACK ride and steer their mount with their feet and knees and shifting their weight on the horses' backs. All present are capable of riding their mount 'no hands'. In a combat situation, these two regiments would be 'mounted' in lightly-armoured vehicles, performing reconnaissance and similar activities. As an example, the Blues and Royals (mounted in armoured vehicles) liberated Belsen concentration camp during WWII. I hope that helps. I could go on for quite a while...

The Troopers and the Mounts have separate duty rotas so the Trooper gets whats allocated to him. Obviously they have their own favourite Mounts and where possible can draw that mount, but the upshot of all this is they have ALL got to be able to competently ride and do Ceremonial duties on any Mount given to them. It's exactly the same with the Armoured Reconnaissance Vehicles (Small Tank) the troopers of the Household Cavalry have, you can't pick the vehicle! It's not all work, they do play as well. Search for videos Household Cavalry at Holkham Beach or Household Cavalry at Yellowcraig Beach where they ride bareback in the open sea.
@@stuartmccall5474 I am surprised at that . There is a big difference between a vehicle and a horse. Do you ride ? There is a great bond between horse and human .
@@Hava744 : No, I don't. These mounts are Soldiers with Official Name, Official No (stamped on the hoof) and are not pets but trained as Military Horses as they have been for Centuries. Great display of skill horsemanship and riding skills getting horse to move and travel in formation and order. What about the fallen trooper, did you see his helmet, totally wrecked but glad he was ok and walking well and unhurt. What people forget is that the horse and rider are moving, even at a canter, a fall can do the rider serious injury, if they are going very fast it can be fatal to the rider if they come off.

I am SO VERY PROUD to be BRITISH xx❤
Well trained horses! ❤👍🏻
And of course Canada is Commonwealth. Your King is our King! Us older may be more respectful then the younger crowd
As a young child in 1960s I still remember pictures of Queen Elizabeth ll in rooms and her picture on household items, eg, a tray. We lived in the States and would visit family members in Ontario. The Queen was beautiful and very special back then. ❤️
Wonderful to watch this as disabled and in Lancashire so not able to see otherwise
I’m so glad you enjoyed the video! Thanks for watching and for your kind comment :)
Stirling performance ❤
Verry impressive.
Какие красавцы лошадки и воины тоже!❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks so much for today’s astonishing array of horses. Wonderful!😊

Great showmanship.😄
Amazing horses!!!
Incredible!!!
Thank you for sharing. I appreciate you!
Im so proud to be British ❤
That was brilliant thank you. There is nothing quite like the Blues and Royals and the Household Gusrds
Life Guards..
Do hope the horse an guard are ok and not hurt ❤❤❤
Their hooves almost sound like a gentle summer rain on the canopy of decidous tree leaves. I am looking at the ground to see if it is wet. Even the sky looks perfect for rain.
Can you please update us on the spooked horses that ran amok in central London and the injuries of the rider plus the horses?
One of the horses was clearly bleeding. I read one has an injured leg. I left a comment asking earlier too, but no one has replied.
Best wishes.
I did not see the guard that was thrown off, what happened.
@willothewispl Some rubble was being transferred by a conveyor belt into a waiting lorry, and I think there was a sudden loud crash that spooked some of the horses.
I wish they would use bitless bridals they don't hurt the horses mouth . Would you like having a piece of metal stuck in your mouth . These are beautiful majestic animals . Prayeing for the injued people and the horses. Prayers and Love ❤️ From Oklahoma USA
There's no rough treatment from the officers, added to the fact that without the bit how do you control your mount.
@@bernadettekavanagh9984Americans do it no bother.
@@bernadettekavanagh9984I rode my horses with just a neck strap. You don’t need metal in their mouth if they are trained properly.
I've never seen so many horses together! I hadn't noticed the number, 172 in the title.
Amazing to watch.
Splendid
Are there people behind the scenes that never get credit for how they support this event.
This is so neat this much tradition and the horses are exercising. People might not Believe it but they don't pay much per person for what they get
Thank you for sharing. It is something to watch them to line up for inspection review.
All the footGuards also have this inspection . Every year . but they have theirs inside their respective Barracks . It's pretty Hardcore. Kit has to be spot on . Drill has to be spot on .. I did 8 during my time in the Footguards... Basically a Pain in the Arse ..ha ha
Yes, but how much discipline and tidiness, presentation do you learn from having it drilled into you.
So beautiful
Great display of skill horsemanship and riding skills getting horse to move and travel in formation and order. What about the fallen trooper, did you see his helmet, totally wrecked but glad he was ok and walking well and unhurt. What people forget is that the horse and rider are moving, even at a canter, a fall can do the rider serious injury, if they are going very fast it can be fatal to the rider if they come off.
This was a wonderful experience to see, I have never seen anything of this scale before. Truly outstanding. Why was a horse and rider taken off the parade, I hope he is alright….
OMG how many horses 😮❤
I think it was 172 horses.
Buggle sounds a bit rough.
Magnificent
Relieved the Trooper and his horse are alright.
My Brother is in the King's Guard, I've never met him.
Thats ashame, perhaps now is the time to try and make contact how know could be nice
