Tie a small piece of rope around the handle of your backpack and you could roll up your jackets and tie it to that if you don't want to put them around your waist
Always enjoy hearing of your experiences. But after hearing you say 500 miles a few times at the end I got that old song by "The Proclaimers" going through my head 😂
👍🏻 I like your approach. Don’t need to spend a fortune on gear. No tent? … assuming you were staying in cabins. How did it go in the rain with only a light shell? Cheers 🇨🇦

It is since he doesn't have any sleeping system. Those were day hikes and you don't need absolutely anything else for day hikes
That song was going through my mind, too.

Point to point or day hikes. The light shell works great in the rain but if it's a downpour, I eventually wet out anyway.
Sir, may I ask what you did for sleeping, shelter and rain?
Liked otherwise your no-nonsense gear list.
