So beautiful. Great video. I use to live in Manly over 30 years ago. I use to take my little girl every Sunday to Shelly beach. Got divorced so i had to come back to uk. I miss Australia so much. Thanks for the memories.❤❤❤❤❤
I'm glad the view brought back happy memories. It's still as beautiful a stretch of Australia as you recall. It's a blessing to be able to live here and to be able to enjoy the Northern Beaches. Best wishes to you.
David what a film maker you are, spectacular footage of the best place on earth thank you sooo much for your footage I’m so lucky to live here in North Narrabeen originally from out western Sydney my life has changed amazingly being by the sea, land, and nature it really is heaven on earth thank you 🙏
So glad you enjoyed the watch. I've had the occasional person say to me 'It must have taken a lot of hard work to make the film'. I always say 'There was nothing hard about spending time at ocean's edge on the Northern Beaches. I know you fully understand!!!
Sydneysider here. It’s sunrise. East coast of Australia but Shelley Beach where the video starts faces west. It’s the only one that does. All the other beaches face east, from where the sun is rising. Sydney’s Northern Beaches (ocean beaches only) are in turn as shown in the video: Shelly Beach (unpatrolled - no Surf Life Saving Club - see Manly), Fairy Bower Beach (unpatrolled - no SLSC - see Manly), Manly Beach (Manly SLSC, North Steyne SLSC, Queenscliff SLSC), Freshwater Beach (SLSC), Curl Curl Beach (Curl Curl SLSC and North Curl Curl SLSC), Dee Why Beach SLSC, Long Reef Beach SLSC), Fishermans (unpatrolled - no SLSC), Narrabeen Beach (Collaroy SLSC, Narrabeen SLSC and North Narrabeen SLSC), Turimetta Beach (unpatrolled - no SLSC), Warriewood Beach (SLSC), Mona Vale Beach (SLSC), Basin Beach (unpatrolled - no SLSC), Bungan Beach (SLSC), Newport Beach (SLSC), Bilgola Beach (SLSC), Avalon Beach (SLSC), Whale Beach (SLSC), Palm Beach (Palm Beach SLSC and North Palm Beach SLSC). The video finishes at Barrenjoey Headland, with Broken Bay (Hawkesbury River and Pittwater), forming Sydney’s northern coastal boundary. There are of course many more beaches to the south of Sydney Harbour and also within the harbour itself, all with equally impressive scenery. I love this place!
In the 70's I lived all along the Northern Beaches in different towns and Avalon was my favorite. You could afford to rent a home there back then. When king tides came in I would go down to the built in rock pool area at dusk with my friends and we would hold on the the chains while the waves crashed into us....young and dumb thinking we were immortal. What a rush though. Will never forget that.
It’s very hard to explain, but I’ll try. 21 years ago, I watched Home and Away and Neighbours religiously. From those soaps, I developed a love for all things Australian. I was obsessed. I would look at Palm Beach and Barrenjoey head and wish I was there and not in the U.K. Seeing them all in this video brings back memories because I knew the names of all the beaches along the coast. Stunning video, thank you for letting me relive that time.
Chris, I'm glad you enjoyed watching. It's a wonderful stretch of coast for sure. Barrenjoey is a really special place, forever changing. I managed to capture it emerging from a morning fog as well - truly magical. Look up my movie Gliding #001 - at the 15 min 50 sec mark. You'll find it there. Best wishes.
Thank you. The Northern Beaches is a truly blessed stretch of coast. A great place to take in a little piece of our planet's beauty and recharge the soul.
It was a wonderful adventure to embark upon and I'm glad you enjoyed seeing some of this wonderful place. I love being there so much. It's a gem amongst the hustle and bustle of our modern world. Recently I was blessed with seeing Dolphins right beside the sand at Palm Beach. Look out for that on my upcoming Gliding #014 releasing on Aug 1.
There is ,...NO OTHER CITY IN THE WORLD,..that can compete against SYDNEY, be it Northern or Southern Beaches or even the trip between Nth & Sth heads towards the Sydney Harbour Bridge...the inlets you sail by, enhancing the unbelievable enchanting beauty Sydney invites you to experience ... it is a WONDERDOWNUNDER JEWEL.....
Blake, thanks for watching. All shot on a DJI Mavic Pro original - it is such a beautiful machine. I've recently upgraded to the Mavic Pro 3 - and I'm amazed by the quality jump achieved by the new model. Check out one of my more recent movies like 'Gliding #005' etc. You'll see what I mean.
priceless calm heaven.
Yes it is. A piece of heaven on earth. Diverse and beautiful.

Amazing footage and unbelievable sceneries!
My brother lives very close to Mona Vale beach but you didn't show his apartment block.
Are you sure ? I'm fairly certain I can see him waving in that Mona Vale shot 🤣
What drone do you use? Footage looks amazing

The Sydney jewel is the Pittwater inlet near Palm and Newport beaches
Definitely a gorgeous spot that is for sure.
