Absolutely gorgeous. Phew! I’m glad I’m not the only one that has a strong connection to my seam ripper. Its like going to the dentist, you don’t want to go but glad you did it when you are finished 😁😁. ❤️🌺
I just found your channel this morning and am in the process of watching a bunch of your videos. Just want to tell you that your personality makes your videos even more enjoyable.
LOL!!!! You rock girl!!! Dress is absolutely lovely 😍I could not stop laughing because I too am very honest when something I made looks like 💩My husband was listening to this tutorial and said "sounds like you!" Thank you
That came out an absolute treat! I’m 4 months late, but happy birthday anyway! The fabric is sensational for that pattern, and extra points for pattern matching the back. Doesn’t matter how busy the print it it _always_ gives me a secret thrill when _I_ know the print matches 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Beautiful dress as always. Would you ever use a blind hem foot? I stopped hemming by hand once I mastered the technique and find it work’s brilliantly x
What a fab tutorial Birthday Girl 🎉 Just love that dress and fabric. I made a Pendleton 49er about a year ago. I googled it and you randomly came up, so glad you are know on You Tube ❤
Happy Birthday and what a wonderful dress. I loved this tutorial and for sharing the honest part of sewing too, when it doesn't work out the first go..try again 🤩
What beautiful dress!!! I learned a lot watching you put it together. Thank you so much for doing a video for us, as that in itself is a time consuming venture. God bless you ❤
Happy birthday and a lovely dress for the celebration. Well done. Thanks for including the hard parts. - Cathy (&, accidently, Steve), Ottawa/Bytown/Pimisi
@@tashacouldmakethat Seriously, thank you for including the parts where you work your way out of a mistake. I'm hoping this becomes a trend in Ye Olde Cos Tube... because, Lord Knows, I could use the ideas to turn to...
So cute and turned out great! It is comforting to realize that you also have fiddly stuff happen when you sew. I'm not the only one that has to unpick seams! Happy Birthday!
Happy Birthday! 🎂That dress looks fabulous! Well worth using your vintage fabric, with enough left over for a saucy blouse...?😉 Great tutorial, thank you!
Happy Birthday and what a great sewing tutorial! Such a joy to see and hear you explain your wonderful creations, after so many years reading your blog! Really enjoying it!💋
Happy Birthday! Lovely dress learned a few more tips thank you for sharing. Awating your belt video with interest. never occured to me to use the 1/4" ditch foot for belt top stitching!
Happy birthday! Your dress turned out beautifully! That fabric is just 😍😍😍 and I really like the gathered blousy bodice style, it was definitely worth it in the end! Do you know what era that fabric is from? That's the style of vintage print I love, mostly geometric but a bit more sketchy, almost reminds me of the colours of atomic era things? As you can see, I don't know the correct terms for it 😂 if I were searching for fabric like that on Etsy, what sort of terms would be best? I love your necklace in the reveal! Is this another of your me-mades?
Thanks! I don’t know exactly but I’d guess 50s or maybe 60s. I wish I had a way to describe the print as I love it too. And re the necklace nope it’s a vintage themoset necklace. 😊
Happy Birthday, fabulous dress, thank you for sharing. Also can you please tell me what a polished cotton is, its not a term I am familiar with, thanks from the UK x
Thank you! I don’t know fundamentally much more about it than I mentioned in the beginning of the video, but it was a vintage fabric treatment I think mainly used for drapery. If you wash it though it comes off and it’s just like a normal cotton.
I am thinking about buying a Bernina sewing machine but I am not sure. Are you happy with your machine? Are there things you don’t like about it? Your opinion would help me a lot!
I love my machine! I'm in desperate need of getting it a tuneup, but it was definitely a worthwhile investment (that I thought long and hard about). And for me I felt it really helped take my sewing to the next level. My previous machine was just fine, but it's made my topstitching look better and generally just runs really nicely. I'd buy it again in a heartbeat. The only real issue I've had is the automatic needle threader eventually wanted to start coming off and while I can get it back on, it's a PITA. So when I take it in for a tuneup I need to have them look at that.
@@tashacouldmakethat thank you so so much for your answer and sharing your experience with your machine, it really helps me very much! 😊 I decided to buy a Bernina as soon as I will have the possibility as I haven’t found any other brand that I like so much( contemplating the 435 model at the moment) I hope your needle threader problem is solved! Have an awesome day! 💖

You are such a sweet person you voice reminds me of my late grandmother! 💜❤️ It makes me feel nostalgic in a way. 🥰
I love this vibrant pattern on the fabric! ❤️
Oh thank you, love that 🥰
It's a beautiful dress. What a lovely tradition to gift yourself every year!
Thank you, it’s something I really enjoy doing!

I always get so excited when I go to YT and see you have posted a video. I don't even look to see what else is there I just go straight to yours❣️
🥰
Seeing a short of all your birthday sewing items would be fun!
I thought about it a little too late for this year-maybe next year! 😃
I so love my serger
The fabric pattern reminds me of the Solo 'Jazz' cup
HA! It does. It's vintage predecessor (though I think that cup design has probably been around since the 80s or 90s) 😂
I am an April baby too. I have been making my birthday outfits too. This dress is really nice and nice on you. Happy belated.
Beautiful dress as always. Would you ever use a blind hem foot? I stopped hemming by hand once I mastered the technique and find it work’s brilliantly x
Love the dress and the print you used for it.
Thank you!
What a swell dress and so beautifully made! The fabric is super cool. The pattern matching in the back was so worth doing.
Thank you so much!

Hi all, is there a name for the special dart at 8:35? thanks! I want to research intio this more and how to use it/make it.
Inverted box pleat! Probably more often used on skirts (and curtains ha ha).
Hi Tasha - what type of foot were you using when you sewed on the bias?
It’s an edgestitch foot, I love using it!
