This was my very first repair to ever attempt. I had an old iPhone 4 sitting in a drawer and I decided to try my hand. I did have a couple of small issues - one screw was stripped near the antenna, but I managed to get the motherboard out along with the speaker at the same time. It took me about 3 hours to complete - but as a complete novice, I felt good about turning it on and having it work…no matter how much time it took. This video is great. I recommend watching it at least once all the way through before even touching your phone. If you will then follow the video and do it along with him…then you will be successful.
By far, the best tutorial. He knows his parts and functions. I'm a prior electrician just starting out so I get most of it. I see so many substandard parts being placed in phones by people who do rush jobs and it infuriates me. Product knowledge and quality care are aspects I value. I consistently find videos with ," just pick this little plastic piece up," or grab this round thing and put it over here on this other square piece." 😒 Going to place order for my shop. Thanks for not being mediocre. Keep up the great work!
What else can I say this video is great and Kudos to the instructor! I replaced my iPhone 4 LCD and it went perfectly. Would not have been able to do it without this video.
Excellent. A couple of steps were in a different order from the step by step insert, but this worked perfectly. Saved my nearly $100 for a deductible to replace the phone. Thank you.
Thanks for the video very helpful. In the vein of putting things back to stock I checked the screen which I removed and found the grill for the speaker was also left behind as well as a little pad that sits on the digitizer and lcd cables. The main thing is you should compare the screen you remove with the replacement screen after removal and not just follow these instructions verbatim.
My home button had so much dirt around it (underneath the front cover) that it was being held "on" intermittently. Full tear down, cleaned it up and reassembled and all is good. Thank you!
Video helped a ton! One problem however is that the new screen that I bought did not have mesh over the top speaker on the front...and the phone is entirely put together now that I realized it. You may want to remove the mesh and attach it to the new screen before assembling.
Paul did the best videos in my opinion. Ed does them now and does a great job, highly detailed, but Paul has a way of walking you through it and describing eveything really well, with "personality" I guess, making it not feel like a dry instruction video.
i cant explain how much I appreciate our tutorial I wud pay u if I cud I was a nervous but u explained and went thru evry step very clearly making it very easy and it didn't take as long as I thought it would
Awesome video man, very thorough. Replaced the screen in about an hour last night. Amazon shipped me a 4s screen instead of a 4 screen. If anyone else ended up with the wrong screen, the ribbon cables and everything else line up correctly. The only differences i noticed was the corner connector (camera corner) on the 4s screen is too short to reach the screw hole, and the middle side connector (camera side) is in the wrong place. I cut them both off, the screen fits, and the phone works great. Thanks again.
These directions are on point as long as you follow him and have patience. The ones who are giving negatives are the ones who aren't following him and isn't tech saVvy. I fix computers for a living, so the directions to this video are good! It made my niece's Verizon iPhone 4 brand new looking after replacing the LCD screen.
Excellent video! The camera work was awesome. The hardest part of it all was replacing those 4 screws in the corners. Everything presented here was identical to what I had in my phone, and the guidance you offered was top-shelf. Thank you!
Thank you so much for this video! It was hard to find a disassemble video for the verizon Iphone 4 until I came across yours. Your guidance was very descriptive and I had no trouble at all following your directions ;)
I know i did the same thing! I got all the way to the batery plug in and test when i noticed it. I took it completely apart and transfered th screen. What a drag! Othr han that, an excellent video! THANKS!
Hi, this video is very helpful but I was wondering if there was anyone to check if the screen works before assembling the whole phone back together again.
Thank you so much for this video, but MAN is this not for the faint of heart. There are a couple of missing steps, such as the speaker screen and how to get those corner screw buggers back in! Aligning the vibrator module took several tries as well
HEY GREAT VIDEO.i followed all the steps far as replacing the screen that was cracked but my screen is just all white when i power up..no apple sign present.ANY IDEA WHERE I WENT WRONG?
Took me 4 hours but I finally got it all back together and turned on again! Thanks for the video, but I'd say it's worth the 70 dollars it would take to have a pro do it.
Thanks so much for the video. This was my first attempt to replace a screen on any phone and it went flawlessly due to this video. Details are great. I am happy to report we have a 100% functioning phone now. Thanks again.
Does anyone else feel like this video makes the process look easier than it is? I'm having trouble with some of the Philips screws. Especially the corner ones. They're in fairly tight and at very awkward angles. Otherwise, it has been quite helpful.
Awesome video! The new screen seems to be assembled wrong. The position of the 3 clips along each side that allow the screen to snap into place are in the wrong position so it won't attach to the frame. Any way for me to fix or best to send back to manufacturer? Thanks!
What size screwdriver do you need for the smallest screws? The Phillips that came with my kit still seems to be too large for the smaller screws and I'm afraid I'm going to strip them.
+sheltondk43 try a 000 or 00. My husband did mine but he also said the screwdriver with the kit wasn't working. He grabbed one from the garage. I read other reviews about the size I listed above
this video is great. only thing that sucks is that my touch screen isnt working at all now. but the screen isnt cracked anymore. yay. I guess we cant have it all can we....
I think my "grounding clip" screw is stripped, is there a way I can do something about that myself? So far everything was going so well and then this.. lol
I followed each step with a fine tooth comb. Everything went together exactly like the video and instructions. When I powered it up the screen is a faint white with a black spot in the top left corner. I carefully took it completely back apart. Put it together precisely again only to get the same thing. Is it possible that the screen I was mailed was bad? Especially considering the fact that I am very tech savvy and used extreme caution and attention to each detail? Couldn't reach customer servi
This is an excellent video! I've changed my glass screen with this video. As long as you use the original OEM Apple replacement lcd screen you're good to go by following this step by step instructions meticulously. Some of that stuff they sell on Ebay is garbage; you better be careful--caveat emptor. Nevertheless, iCracked.com rocks!
Fantastic Video. I want to stress on the importance of using a PLASTIC (Non-conductive and not sharp material) so you don't puncture the battery. I learned the hard way. I used a sharp knife being super careful. But I managed to puncture it. I won't get into the details of the super white flare that started and that was not turning off. I tried to put out the fire flare and it burned my finger so bad that it melted the nail and badly burned the tip of my finger. So, please be very cautious in removing the battery. It's the most delicate thing to do our of all the work described in this video. Let me be the only one who pays a high price for this experience!!!
That was tough. I did it without proper tools. Used the tip of tweezers for pentalobe. A good quality #00PH screwdriver woulda helped. Mine barely griped the screws.
IF ANYBODY HAS ISSUE WITH "NO SERVICE" AFTER RE-INSTALL!!! go to settings and try network reset if unsuccessful set date and time then network reset should work as long as you have not broken anything
Do I need to do this if I dropped my phone and the picture was messed up and my screen was popped out a little so I popped it back in and the screen went black but there's scratch like things that show that it still lights up.

I started my repair as soon as I got my order in the mail. I almost died of anxiety, but the replacement was a success. Thanks!
I did it, thank you so much man. I thought I had lost all of my data since my touchscreen wasn't working. So relieved. I bow to you.
I took my time and paused it in sections and now my phone works perfectly thank you so much I would recommend this 100%
What else can I say this video is great and Kudos to the instructor! I replaced my iPhone 4 LCD and it went perfectly. Would not have been able to do it without this video.
I have watched this video, 1 time and did everything from memory. Thanks iCracked
This is a much, much better tutorial than others I have seen. Very nice work.
Excellent. A couple of steps were in a different order from the step by step insert, but this worked perfectly. Saved my nearly $100 for a deductible to replace the phone. Thank you.

It worked perfectly! iCracked is definitely the way to go!
This is the best video on youtube - thank you soooo much... I followed your instructions and it worked perfectly... Best detailed video...

Thanks bro! This video saved my money and gave my iPhone a new facelift! lol much appreciated
Great Video, watched it twice, and fixed my phone as the video played. Thank you very much.
Great video for a first time tech you should mention to be careful when taking the 6 side screws out very easy to strip
Paul did the best videos in my opinion. Ed does them now and does a great job, highly detailed, but Paul has a way of walking you through it and describing eveything really well, with "personality" I guess, making it not feel like a dry instruction video.
Excellent tutorial. You just saved me $130!

Very helpful. I have repaired a "home" button with help of this video. Thanks author!
perfect, thanks for the great video! my repair went off without a hitch thanks to this detailed video!

Thanks for the great video Paul! Very Thorough
nice work, video tutorial covered it all. everything seems to be working.
Thank goodness for this video. Helped a LOT!
Took me 4 hours but I finally got it all back together and turned on again! Thanks for the video, but I'd say it's worth the 70 dollars it would take to have a pro do it.
Awesome. It took approx 2 hours paying strict attention to the video, but the iphone 4S is good to go. Great product.
Thank you!!!! I was so scarred it when it wouldn't turn on but it was only b/c I hadn't completely pressed in one of the connectors :)
BEST 30 MINUTES OF MY LIFE!!! THANK YOU!!
LIKED AND SUB'D!

Is the iPhone 4 CDMA screen the same from the regular iPhone 4?
Thanks this was very helpful. The kit I got didnt have instructions.
awesome video!!! my screen is successfully fixed! thanks! Thumbs up!

Thank you so much for your kind help!! I really appreciate it. Have a fabulous day!
I took out the screws as instructed and it won't come loose
Since you removed the adhesive does that mean that it isn't required when re assembling the IPhone?
i saw some screem for sale on ebay taht say iphone cdma...can i use those screem for gsm iphone...they are the same or they have differences?
thanks
awesome vid! walked me through my screen replacement 100%
Great set of instructions! Thanks!

this video is great. only thing that sucks is that my touch screen isnt working at all now. but the screen isnt cracked anymore. yay. I guess we cant have it all can we....
hey tahnks alot for not telling us that the screws strip easily! now i wasted 60 bucks on a kit i will never be able to use again!
Good job. This is the best video.
Do you have any ideas of what to do if the power button does not work after this?
Thanks a million man! This tutorial was extremely helpful!
Yes you can. Just make sure you dont have an iphone 4s screen and ALWAYS make sure you buy a CDMA screen for sprint/verizon, OR GSM for ATT.
I really appreciate you paul you help so much THANK YOU!

I just ordered my screen and I am stupid when it comes to thing like this and BAM I did it. Return and get a new one
Worked great! Thanks!
Is it not necessary to replace the adhesive that you removed?
Just wondering... let's say I lost one of the 6 Phillips head screws that I was meant to loosen but not remove at the 12:00 mark? How bad is that?
work like a charm just follow his tips and it works great thanks
im super happy

thank you for this info...worked well and i didnt have to pay the nerds to fix it for me....
That was tough. I did it without proper tools. Used the tip of tweezers for pentalobe. A good quality #00PH screwdriver woulda helped. Mine barely griped the screws.
Is the screen destroyed if the small LCD little cable gets torn off
I did it!!!!! great video and good caution tips!!!! Cheers
do you know in was stores or places I could buy cellphone screens
Great video. Works great... Thanks
The Phillip head screw that is connected to the battery clip just keep turning! What do I do?D:
IF ANYBODY HAS ISSUE WITH "NO SERVICE" AFTER RE-INSTALL!!! go to settings and try network reset if unsuccessful set date and time then network reset should work as long as you have not broken anything
How do you remove the clips holding the antenna?
What size Phillips screwdriver are you using at 3:41?
very helpful, thank you
I stripped one of the corner screws, how do I get it out?
thanks! worked out great!
My screen didn't have the cover for the speaker next to the camera hole... check it before you put it back together ; ;
Do I need to do this if I dropped my phone and the picture was messed up and my screen was popped out a little so I popped it back in and the screen went black but there's scratch like things that show that it still lights up.
great step by step procedure!!! the only thing I forgot was the screen over the ear piece..... dammit!
ok so i had it until i ripped the one of the thin lcd ribbon, will it still work?:(
mine is 4 and 4s verizon CDMA but if the same glass or LCD is left the same or different
A weird gold screw thibg came out with the logic board and i dont kniw where it goes please help me fast as possible
drinking game: take a shot every time he says "um" :p great video, helped me lots
