I have this 1-6x lpvo on a POF revolution DI 18.5" .308, I want more magnification, I am thinking of getting the ARKEN Zulus 5-25 day/night scope, the picture quality is amazing and works well without any IR light and the IR light works out to 800 meters I have seen. I need a suppressor that will be accurate and take off the loud BOOM so I can use it without ears for hunting and range time, its so powerful and loud at the range its insane, I need a good muzzle brake to go inside a suppressor that can do this for me, flash hider is not my goal, quiet and accurate is my goal, need less recoil and BOOM please. and a good scope that will work for 100/200-800+ yards for my ar-10 please and thankyou, God Bless you and yours, Thank you for your time and energy used to put together this video of knowledge for us.
Thank you so much for this. I just got the 1-6 and with the formulas you provided, I can apply it to the 1-6's 10.83 MOA horseshoe. The info about the 36 yard zero, what CQB range actually is, and how to use this reticle to find ranges was priceless.
This is what I got from sig directly. The reticle is a 556/762 blend of a 55gr/173gr Sierra FMJ with a muzzle velocity out of a 16in barrel. The holds are not distance specific, but rather hold width specific for an 18 in shoulder width IPSC target. Below is an example how to use the bottom horseshoe width, and some additional holds. The bottom holds are going to be more accurate for a 762. Hope this helps!
idk why Sig couldn't do the math for the public. Shouldn't be that hard since PA did for their optics. Would like to see 14.5"/16"/20'' with M193 & M855 zeroed for 50/100yds
This scope is awesome for coyotes, I use 1/2 the width to range them on the reticle and so far it’s worked fine. I’ve had absolutely zero complaints from the coyotes on my shot placement.
Ok, a lot of info, all good stuff. I only have experience with pretty old optics. Learned to zero at 300 and never adjust anything but your hold. So I will now dip my toe into 5.56 and LPVO. Thanks for posting.
Recently purchased this exact scope for my new DDM4A1. Thank you for sharing your wealth of knowledge for us relative newbies looking to become better, more efficient, more educated and safer enthusiasts. While a little technical, your explanations were clear and easily understood. Look forward to going to the range and putting your instructions to good use. Appreciated the lecture Professor Pew Pew!
Just purchased this for my HK 556 and by far the most informative video I've come across. Being military myself I truly appreciated your narrating and naming hah! Cheers! Subscribed.
When I use Strelok Pro for this scope, HK 556 (but add in 223 Rem @ 2900 FPS), current weather, 2 inch height of scope, 0 slope, zeroed @ 25 yards, shooting 100 yards it says MOA D 4.0. I don't know what I am doing wrong. Could you possibly assist? I appreciate the help.
Just got me a ruger 556 first time and i bought this scope to go with it. Im quickly realizing i dove into an ocean and idk what the hells going on but now i atleast found you brother.
Thanks for this vid. I tried making sense of the Sig manual showing the drop values and it didn't make sense until I saw your explanation. It looks like the BDC hash marks are very close to .223/5.56 75gr, BC of .355, MV of 2700 50/200 zero and a sight height of 2.5. 1st hash corresponds (very closely) to 350 yds, 2nd 450, 3rd 550, 4th 625, 5th 700 and 6th 800. Used the Hornady ballistic calculator and the corresponding data in the 'come up MOA' column. Very close.
I have the 1-6 on an 18” AR, I use it for hunting. I want a narrower spread out to 200m, so I zeroed at 50 meters. This effectively gives me a 20-200m hold with less than +/- 5cm (2”) variance in elevation with Barnes 70gr TSX.
If i was to take an educated guess I would say the reticle is based on the SPEAR weapon systems. I say that because the Tango MSR is the civilian/budget version of the Tango 6T, which was supposed to be the companion optic for the SPEAR weapon systems.
Those dots on the side are wind holds lol, the ranged drops are for 5.56 and 308 mil spec ammo out it 800, the width are a man’s shoulders at the range of the drop, the arrows doing left and right of the dot are moving target holds for walking, running in full gear and lastly running all out unencumbered. I’m not making this up. Sig has multiple TH-cam videos on the scopes explaining all of this, not to mention the numerous videos done by gun tubers that had sig people in the video with them.
What’s awesome about the reticle and the ar15 the variance of point of impact between 55 and 62’s is so small that for combat or “practical” accuracy that using the ranging features of this scope that it’s still going to be a hit, at least in what is the common combat ranges and the ar15/m4’s “effective” ranges.
Sig has more than one video on their channel going over the reticle. It’s such a good optic and reticle the army is replacing the ACOG with the hardcore version of this scope. I agree with using the sfp for low mag optics but I’m really hoping that the ffp version of the 1-10 is like the eotech vuduu, at 1x you have the donut of death and as the magnification increase it’s as if you’re getting closer to the reticle until you go past the big donut of death and closer to the center reticle which has drops and wind holds.
Industry standard is always for 16" barrels. Not always but that's the standard so if it doesn't specify it's going to be most likely calibrated for the most common which is 16" barrels.
Nice video..sig should get you to do one for them to link to, crazy they sell these without any info on how to use them. I actually have one of the 1-10x first focal plane sigs that I have been pretty happy with...agree with the 36 yard zero..everyone goes with the 100 with an lpvo and miss out on the point blank range simplicity.
Thanks for the information on this optic. I zeroed my SIG Tango MSR 1-6 this morning at Wilshire Guns in OKC. Anything wrong with a 100 yard zeroe distance?
@@davidn.3369 Nothing "wrong" with any zero distance, as long as you know what your holds are. I just like the 36yrd for the bullet cone making it "point and shoot" to 400 on a man size target with a 16" barrel, and 300 with a 10.5" barrel.
I just took the sig 1-10 out to 400 for the first time and I instantly hated it. The exit pupil is tiny, and I couldn't get the target and the reticle crisp enough. I quite literally have clearer glass in a Bushnell 22lr scope that got for 60 bucks on amazon. I too came home and cranked out a dope chart with strelock and figured out the that not just the diopter and glass are trash, the reticle is aslo trash.
