Canadian government tells us to avoid the slums but I go to Cavite City as I support a charity there
Question: before Duterte took office, video documentary show Tondo a dangerous place. Has it improved that you don't feel you life is in danger?
This is the poorer areas of Manila but looking at your video, it seems Filipinos are pretty/handsome for people from the slums.
At last someone posting what its like behind most city's in the Philippines. Do i think its dangerous to walk these streets at night. Would you.
Anyone else find these walking videos to be very relaxing ?
Im brazilian. And i think the atmosphere of slum in the philippines is so different compared to slums in brazil. The people are happy despite being poor and the kids are so lively and positive. Here in favelas you will see a lot of youngster selling drugs in the corner and its very dangerous to walk here if your alone. Such a different mood.
nah its the same except that there are more guns in the favelas than in tondo
@@riozsn4236 that may be true but they dont show it on public in brazil favelas they show it to the public and they are not scared of it.
pq nao escrevem em portugues?
Tambem sou brazileiro é triste e realidade vê nosso pais asim😢😢
É VERDADE A ATMOSFÉRA DE LÁ É BEM DIFERENTE, AQUI NO RJ VC NÃO PODE FICAR NEM NO PORTÃO DE CASA, RISCO DE SER ASSALTADO, BALA PERDIDA...
The one thing that really knocks me on my feet about Filipinos is the resilience, tenacity and the ability to maintain good spirit in the face of adversity. Filipinos are good people, Filipinos are strong people. I love Filipinos ♥. They're the people of Christ!
That is why I am married to one. :)
yes the good ones (which is most of them) are awesome. The bad ones, the corrupt, and the scammers, can all go rot in hell
Yes concur with your statement. Very lovely people and just looking forward coming back for holiday when everything goes back to normal.....
@@satbobsmith7261 I will marry one one day. They make the best girlfriends
That's why I've been married over 30 years to one.
For people who have so little, it’s so inspiring to see them smile! Filipinos know the true meaning of happiness and they appreciate and are grateful for the little things in life!!!😁🙏🏼❤️. Great video 👍🏼, God Bless 🇺🇸🇵🇭!!!!
Thanks so much for watching 😊
Yeah, they are happy living in slump. That is the wrong mentality you are projecting, especially to the authority/government. Why would the government care if its citizens look so happy living in slump.
The ones who speak well of the slums are the ones who are now out of them.
They look happy on the outside but once you get to know them and talk to them, they’re not happy at all. 95% uneducated, unemployed, and begging for scraps just to get by day to day. Some have one family member working to care for the rest!
@@jackmeloff3335 We all would like better lives my friend, this is true. And of course we cannot speak for all, but most say that they are happy, but always wish for a better future. Thanks for stopping by.
So much energy, so alive and vibrant. My home is large but so empty. Great video, thank you!
You couldn't walk around the favelas in Brasil like that - such a totally different attitude to life in the Philippines I think. The kids seem happy , and that's important.
At least not without the right local, I'll be going to Brazil one day soon, so stay tuned for a Favela video for sure!
I'm brazilian and i love filipino people 🇧🇷🇵🇭❤️
I heard in Brazil they offer ransom option insurance .
Philippines are now safe because of our President vs drug addicts. He erradicated it within 6 yrs time.
@@RichardDomingues28 that’s nice! What do you love about Philippines?
It may be a slum, but it seems like it's filled with happiness. The kids smile a lot, and seem very safe. I'll bet there's not much of loneliness there. How many conversations do you imagine each person there has in a day?
Indeed, and a lot!! =) Thanks for watching!
Safe for the locals more than likely, what is the smell like?
Kids are NOT happy but ashamed.
My cousin live there in tondo. The people aren't actually that poor. As u csn see they can afford clothes and motorcycles.
I agree. At least not lonely, which for many in 🇺🇸 is a killer of mental health
In the slums people are poor, but the people in the slums are kind and friendly when I travel....Love from Thailand.
In my experience, you get dirty looks and people tell you how to get out. They don't enjoy being an attraction.
@@pauls4742 i dont know about you but as a foreigner who have been in philippines the people didnt give me a dirty look. They even approach me and ask questions about myself and tell stories with me. Filipino are actually nice and friendly it just depends on your behavior.
The beauty amidst all this chaos are the kids. You see them jumping around without a care in the world. I have been to the Philippines a few times, as my wife's family lives in Central Luzon. No greater spirit on the planet. That is the reason why I will be retiring there. I know I will be cared for in my old age. Hell, they are begging to look after us NOW.
Thanks for uploading. These people are poor but seem to be quite happy in their life’s. No danger at all, I think. The people are friendly and very social. We people from western countries can learn a lot of them! When I compare this to our ridiculous „problems“ here in Germany, I really feel ashamed. Depressions because of Covid for example. No one in Germany has to be afraid of living in fearful poverty. The state here gives everyone what he basically needs, in every situation of life. Though, people here are complaining about „heavy circumstances“ because of covid they can’t celebrate their birthday like before. Shaking my head….
A great respect for you and your work. It showed me once again, that I can be very lucky in my life. Love and greetings from Germany 🇩🇪❤️
Great video! It makes me jealous to see they're interacting, chatting, socializing without any mobile phone involved. Kids playing and running around with their barefoot. Simple life, so much happiness and joy. The thing that almost impossible to see where I live (China).
Great job Trekker. Thanks for showing me another part of the world where I could see such happiness and joy.
Thanks for watching 😊
There is no happiness being poor. I used to travel to visit relatives back home (Philippines) on a regular basis for twelve years. Poverty totally sucks. I've also been to China. Philippine poverty perpetuates itself through overpopulation, complacency among the people, a corrupt government and a subservient Church.
@@catholiccrusader5328
This is one of the things i dont understand. If they know they are poor, why do they keep having babies?
@@juliansandoval8022 Well, you must know that the pope and the church are against contraceptives and birth control right? I was shocked to learn this, considering most impoverished countries are catholic, and ignorant, and basically do what the church says. I guess this is the reality, as you can see the sprawl of kids in the streets everywhere.
@@juliansandoval8022 lack of family planning and sex education, many teenagers get pregnant early and a lot people have that mentality of having more children means getting more opportunities of getting out of poverty when in reality they can't even afford to send their children to school.
Makes me realize how blessed I have been in my life.
Seeing all the people about, any time day or night, socializing, playing, joking, talking. This is one of the things my wife misses most about the Philippines, versus living in America.
Here, people can be social, but a lot tend to keep to themselves.
Amazing! Now I know why they call it happy land. There’s laughter everywhere! They’re poor but happy ! Thanks for your videos!
Thanks so much for watching!
You don't need money to be happy but in developed countries it is that way, we have moved away from our roots and moved into a materialistic where money is the new currency, no bartering here
I'm from Pakistan my wife is from Philippines I love this country and most humble and honest ppl lives there love and peace ☮️🕊️ for. Philippines
I will walk to this neighborhood anytime of day. Being poor does not mean you are criminal or up to no good. The best people i have met in my life lives in places like this. 😀
Addicted to your videos. Thank you. I always watch them at half speed. There are so many things going on. The way these people live is really astounding and miraculous.
Heartbreaking to see children running around barefoot in these conditions yet on the other hand they are happy, laughing and playing with each other. You don’t see that anymore especially in the US. Kids here are spoiled and don’t appreciate what they have. Adults are the same. I’m guilty of this too. I love these videos and how they educate me about what goes on outside the US. I would love to visit the Philippines, the seem so friendly. Thank you Krypto!
TY for watching =)
That nothing, Kids sleeping on the sidewalk all over Manila. These kids probably have flip flops, they just not wearing them.
Wheres barefoot there kids i saw wear slippers
Its because that is where they grew up and that is all they know. They are too young to understand what it really means to be rich or poor, they probably think most people live like they do. I grew up poor in a foreign country and I was the same way… I had many friends, we just played outside, unaware of what it means to be born in different social/wealth class
@@xxxxmimi I grew up here in USA and I was also poor growing up, but running barefoot was the thing in the past most of us kids did. If we got hurt, oh well put on a bandaid and keep going! Besides running barefoot in the rain was the most exciting time! 😂
This was amazing. A window into a world I know nothing about.
Thanks for the visit my friend!
Fantastic Vlog! Looks like it's about 8 PM or so. Darkness comes early this time of year. It's too early for bed and there's not much in their homes, so people are out in their yards which in this case is the alley.
As a european, i never felt any danger in the Philippines. Felt less secure in south America or in some of our big towns where being white is being in danger.
Nevertheless, if that's their violence, I want to move to the Philippines.
USA is so much worse.
@@vanessagraham8786 covid victims are rising up here so i guess it's not safe to move yet considering there's also a new variant

For some reason, I really like this atmosphere, though I've never been this area before.
Covid keeps me away from the Philippines nearly two years.I really miss Pinas.
Thanks for watching 😊
me toomy wife lives there because the child has too go too school im planning too travel soon once covid 19 is eased off
Even though this is a slum, the whole scene has a carnival or college dorm atmosphere. What's surprising is that residents didn't seem openly upset about being recorded by a stranger walking around their area. Try to do this in the U.S. and you are likely to get beaten up. I enjoyed watching the video without any talking by the video maker- makes me feel like I was actually there exploring the place.
Right, I kept thinking these guys gonna get pissed or rob him, but nope not at all, but guy must be PH though.
Most of them dont care about being film but the kids enjoyed it though, they were waving at the camera. Despite them being poor they still find a way to be happy.
They all seem so friendly - I'm quite impressed by that.
I miss Philippines🥺 Haven’t been back home since the start of covid and I’m getting really home sick:(
One of the best night walk tour in You tube. This video makes me relax and reminds me of who I am as a Proud Filipino. This is a true Life like any other of us here in this World living, the true Survival in Life. Happines is all it matters. God Bless.
Thank you for watching
masaya pala dito pag gabi. Nilunod ang kahirapan ng mga ilaw at ingay ng mga batang nagsisiyahan. Parang fiesta at walang problema ang mga taong nakatira dito. Mabuhay ang Pilipino.
Can't help but feel like this place has some charm. Guess it's the authenticity and organic formation that many of the newer, clean skyscraper developments lack. Would be nice to see significant upgrades with their living conditions and infrastructure so their lives can be easier; even better if it can manage to attract many tourists looking for an authentic experience.
Authentic experience for poverty? What are you on. I doubt you would last a night in these areas.
It’s not a tourist destination, its a slum. Don’t glorify poverty.
For me , it' s just the best video of Krypto trekker . Thanks
Not how big the house but how happy the home is happy people thanks for sharing continue
Me encantan estos videos.
Hay mujeres muy hermosas en Filipinas y la gente se ve muy feliz.
Embience in the slums AT night hardly ever seen by the majority of tourists . Excellent vidéo Bravo 👍🏾
Thank you very much!
These kids are care free, and full of life regardless 👍.
I’m a Filipino by blood..never been in tondo, from Visayas…Filipinos r fun loving, even if it’s not fun they’ll make it fun….can’t imagine when that place rains…but with isko yorme made some difference…hoping he’ll win to improve other parts of tondo and places in the Philippines that needs help as well..🙏🏼
It's like they created their own world inside of the slum. Very interesting to see how the just adjust to their surroundings. It reminds me of the fair grounds with a midway actually.
Like the carnival at the county fair!
sulit na sulit panonood ko parang ako din yun naglalakad...
Don’t worry Philippines 🇵🇭 your not the only country that needs better city planning.
It is not a city. They are illegal squatters. It is allowed because that many homeless on the street at one time would be sheer chaos.
Raw, unfiltered real filipino life. Love to stroll through the real slums and mingle with a few locals.
TY Gary 😊
And talk about what? Financial independence?
@@filipinaangels9555 talk to real Filipinos

Wow brother great video you know just because people are forced to live in them conditions don't make them evil sometimes they have no choice they are still people treat them with respect and you will find out they are just as caring and loving as anyone I have walked some dark alleys and people say man your crazy and I say why they are just people to but in a different class great video God bless youfor showing people that there is no monsters in the dark just less fortunate people

most of the faces is happily living the life compared to us the one who stays in condo alone..i learnt not to judge even tho we might seeing others poor, but they are full of happiness. keep going in Tondooo

How fascinating... You are showing places where foreigners are told to stay away from. The nighttime walk was very atmospheric and different to a daytime walk. Bro you're hella brave!! hahah Great Video!
I like the video, I like pilipinos, (my wife is filipina) so.. these people who live here have learnt to be happy in the micro-world where they spend most of their life, yes you see them running, laughing, playing. whatever but man.. its sad.. people deserve to live in better conditions, those kids deserve a better future, the most of these people are hard workers, most of them are not able to go to school ever and they deserve better. Yes I know about contagious pinay happiness but still I feel sad. If you ask me yes I can live with my wife in a place like this, nothing to be ashamed of but.. Do I want it? No. Because we deserve better. Makes me sad honestly
You should receive some sort of prize for this!!
seems happy there.even in its condition , just goes to show what the west is missing .weather is one but ,but theres not one market in england which has this vibe
Grabe daming bata. At ang dumi ! But masaya naman sila . So innocent kakatuwa. Salamat sa video po.

Amazing. Absolutely amazing and yet so sad. That slum is as rough lookin as there is. Incredible how the people in there live their life
Incredible for you, normal for them. i would not call anything in this scene "sad" as a matter of fact, these people seem to have a lot that "we"don't have.
I guess as long there is enough food and water to avoid hungerand there is shelter when needed, the rest of the quality of an individuals life is measured mostly by the direct environment that person lives in.
@@blauwzakjecrack I agree. It's not that bad. You don't need a clean street and an HOA house to live right. As long as you have shelter and food you should be good
