I mean… we all take different messages from movies, so this is certainly a valid take. I myself didn’t see it as THAT specifically cynical. I agree that Trevorrow has always been anti-corporate and that’s very apparent in the Jurassic World trilogy. I just don’t think it’s necessarily a critique against Disney. If anything I think it’s more or a critique against companies like Monsanto, just done on a more extreme scale with Genetic Power thrown into the mix, which in my mind makes it much more in line with Michael Crighton’s original message with Jurassic Park, but that’s just me. I also genuinely really think it’s a good movie especially with the original cut being restored. I do think it (and the Jurassic World trilogy as a whole) will be looked back on in a better light than they are right now.
I really enjoyed Dominion. It was one of three films I was heavily anticipating this year, the other two being Sonic and Batman. While the theatrical cut was fun, it felt a bit all over the place but then I saw the extended cut and I loved it even more. Now, Jurassic World Dominion is a solid 7/10 from me and makes my top 5 films of the year.
Finally, another video that doesn't ride the hate wagon of hating it for trend. It's so tiring hear people regurgitate the same criticisms over and over again. Now I wouldn't say Dominion is a masterpiece, it sadly is far from being a Masterpiece, but I do believe it was a good Film. Just sucks when you love a Film that has been demonized by so many big screw off TH-camrs who get taken "seriously" with their movie reviews.
@@ElChicosinIdeas That's why I hate most of movie critics now today. They can just demonize the hell out of a movie and misinterpret movies for the general audience into thinking the movie is really awful, but it's really not.
Dominion had some issues but it was a satisfying conclusion to the trilogy. Something that JP3 should've been but instead left it with a cliffhanger and even that wasn't a very satisfying one neither.

I do think it is a misunderstood movie but I don’t think it’s a masterpiece, there are some wonky lines here and there, and the theatrical cut unfortunately still exist and would’ve made a billion dollars at the box office or high praise as a good film if universal didn’t ask Colin Trevorror to edit the film 2 hours and 20 minutes for the last minute. That being said I think this movie is a great way to end the world trilogy and the franchise thanks to the extended cut, and I hope that the extended cut will turn people around from hating the film to loving the film because it’s great. Not a masterpiece because no Film in the franchise can’t top Jurassic park.
It's by no means a masterpiece. it has some bad directing moments and the script is pretty clumsy. But there's some interesting points here. pretty refreshing after seeing so many videos simply trashing the movie with not much thought behind, bust seeking for easy clicks
Hi - at 7:02 is the mention of the loss of critical thinking, due to being lured in with fast promotions & employees being exploited over a fascination, and in this case, with dinosaurs.
I tend to never give movie directors any credit for the symbolism within their films. A lot of people thought that King Kong was an allegory for the freeing of slaves and the integration of African Americans into regular society, but the directors said that the movie was just about a big ape let loose in a city. I think the same may be the case here. I enjoy Dominion more when I think of it as a parody/allegory, but the director probably just meant it as a movie about dinosaurs. Idk
It's no masterpiece but none of these Jurassic films have been, nor have they ever tried to be. (Yes, even the original film as got colossal blunders in it and is ridiculously over the top) They are all above a solid C+ and that's fine, they will always be in that slightly above average tier. For the fans who think there is some untapped potential for a grand slam of a film in a god damn Jurassic movie?... Give yourself an uppercut.
You don't put locusts on a final dinosaur movie and make the hole movie damn boring when it was supposed to be a thrilling ending It is no where near masterpiece lvl Also the final battle has got to be the worst ive ever seen in a movie

I personally disagree with your critique. Jurassic Park was my favorite franchise as a kid and I still believe the original Jurassic Park is the greatest movie ever made. However while I see where you are coming from on the director, to pan Disney by making a awful final film in the trilogy (which is also Alan Grant's last movie) was a horrible decision. I still think Dominion was the worst JP in the franchise.
It was the second best in the whole Jurassic series. I was so impressed and love it so much. I don’t understand why people hate it so much. I’ve heard the reasons and I just don’t see how they make sense to be honest.
