Thanks for another great lesson, Anthony! I've always wanted to ask, when you're plucking note where does your finger go after it strikes the string? After you play a note on the d string, does your finger come to rest on the a string? Or does it pluck then just rise over the other strings without touching?

Interesting. I never could get my muting done properly with my thumb anchored solely on the pickup with occasional anchoring on the E string. Also felt like my angle of attack on the strings would change when playing on the D and G strings compared to A and E. I have noticed most great bassists seem to play in the way you do, utilising the ring and pink for muting when needed. I ended up naturally using a kind of floating thumb technique. The way I anchor is very similar to you, but my thumb moves to the E string when playing the A string, then moves to the A string when playing on the D and G strings. Does a great job muting-wise, and seems to allow a more consistent attack. Don't personally know other bassists who do it this way, just wondering if you have observed any potential shortcomings for this picking hand style, or would you say it is likely as viable as the more traditional approach? anthony, thank you for your videos. I have a question pertaining to right hand technique regarding alternating fingers and sixteenth notes. I've noticed I have speed, consistency and fluidity on all strings but the e string. I think its do to the fact after the stroke, there is no string to stop my finger movements. hence, they move further, taking move time to strike the next note. I'm wondering if you've noticed this, and how you deal with it. anyone else's thoughts would be helpful too. thank you

I have a question about the right hand: when i play alternating from te E to the G string (and back), it feels like the strings are very far apart from eachother. Like i have to make a lot more effort in reaching the next string. Ofcourse i KNOW that they are as close together as the strings on your bass (i have a Fender Jazz as well), but it feels that way... Is there a technique that i can do to get that solved? And second: how come you play with that light touch but still get a decent bass sound? Thank you.
These are great questions lol for the light touch question, I feel like Anthony is extremely skilled at using alternate picking as a way to mute. Especially when he is doing ascending lines, you can really see how good he is at this. th-cam.com/video/CR8yQCZX2HQ/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=BassBuzz at 1:07 in this video, the guy explains it really well.. idk if you do this or not but it helped me get closer to that light touch/decent sound. can you expand on the right hand left hand muting? especially for bass players who play only with 2 fingers( without the ring and pinky finger muting)
