- Did you know that Merlin's Camelot Castle is REAL from the fantasy TV series?
One of the French castles I have been wanting to visit for ages is the fairytale Chateau de Pierrefonds Merlin filming location;

If you didn’t know, Chateau de Pierrefonds played Camelot Castle in every series of BBC’s Merlin.
I’ve been obsessed with the magical Merlin series since the very first episode which was filmed over a decade ago. I still watch the show today and have chased down many filming locations in the UK.
So, it was honestly a dream come true and quite surreal for me to finally be able to visit Camelot Castle!
It’s not the easiest or cheapest place to visit from Paris as it’s on the far edges of the Forest of Compiegne and there are no trains and limited bus services. But, it’s so worth it if you’re a fan.

Loved this video - thank you for uploading! I'm visiting Paris this weekend and really want to visit but can't drive. How reliable / rare would you say are taxis and buses from Compiegne? xx
Amazing! Taxis are fine from Compiegne just expect to pay a little bit for them (€30) one way as there’s no Uber/bolt! Buses are not common or reliable unfortunately unless it’s changed since i went! 🥰 have a magical time
Also visiting very soon and was wondering the same thing. Did you book a taxi (in advance or on phone)? Or is there a taxi rank near the station? Same on the way back as I presume it would be unlikely to find a taxi going back from Pierrefonds. Thanks 🏰
It says on their website that you still need a mask. Is that an old policy? Made me wonder if this place was still open.
I definitely didn’t need a mask last year so that’s probably old! 😊
@ezraianto-holmes6712 hi! I stayed at the Ibis in Compiegne and they called a taxi for me! There’s a visitor information in the town and they can give you some numbers for taxis ☺️

Thank you so much! The staff there told me it could be as long as two years more, so we'll have to see. I really wanted to see it as it's the Camelot throne room but I guess it can't be helped..

Yes it is! My video has lots of scenes inside. The only thing closed is the main hall at the moment for renovations ☺️
