If u come to the Mediterranean region or even as far inland as Germany ( where I live currently ) .. u ll find Shawarma or the similar Gyros or Döner served extensively in the Pita bread... in many parts of the Arabian gulf ( in Doha for eg where I spent 18 years ) you ll find the Shawarma being served in Khuboos.

Brother, The Chicken is so tender and will just melt away in your mouth. The chicken is marinated with their spices and kept in the Tandoor Bowl for 6 hours and then on shawrma stand heat will cook the chicken more and more. so obviously theres no chance for raw chicken .

Everything in Chennai sucks. I've been there so many times and I've always come back disappointed. Things i hate there:
1. Worst climate
2. South Indian food tastes like feet there. It's no surprise. Hyderabad makes 10x times better south indian.
3. The local people are rude, and obnoxious all the fuckin time. Too much ego and false pride in their tamil language.
Things i like there:
1. Beaches
2. Lots of tourist places.

That meat looks like it harbours a lot of campylobacter and legionella. I am definitely not resistant to those bugs. Also I don't know how long that meat has been preserved for and How it is preserved there. Food tastes good but my tummy can't handle it.
Jk Prat hey mate, I am an Indian and fortunately a microbiologist too; the chicken is cooked since the heat for it (the flame behind) is quite hot, I mean 500°f hot, also, legionella is rare in India. these chicken are thoroughly cooked and they keep cooking the whole day in front of the standing grill, you can enjoy them without any trouble.cheers :)
