She was not robbed of her own name. Hailey signed a business agreement which she did not properly read, did not get legal advice on (until she wanted to renegotiate) but made plenty of money from. Any designer or artist who trademarks their name but does not retain full commercial control, loses that TRADEMARK to whoever they sign the rights over to. That is all that happened, and that is why she keeps losing her legal motions.

But my question is: within her contract did she not protect her name, which she was also using as her business brand? Like a larger company employees, you, your name, your designing, and dresses, and then you try to separate and compete with said employer?

The contract gave JLM the right to exclusively use her name, and many variations of it in relation to the design, manufacturing, marketing and sale of bridal clothing and accessories, including any subsequent trade marks. It was an extremely one-sided contract, and I don't agree with it at all. But it is what she signed.
I would choose something a bit more classical, with a modern twist for my wedding, but Hayley's dresses are flowy, detailed, and so feminine. She is a true designer, and it's obvious she loves what she does.

I am watching these videos of Hayley's designs, and I enjoy each video. It seems to me that many of the dresses are very similar to each other... A v-neck bodice with a natural waist and a fluffy skirt, most of them having tiered/layered shapes. I think the few that I've seen with the high necklines are the ones that seem to be the most flattering... Does Hayley make any of the figure-hugging style dresses?
Even though I loved the back of the 3rd dress, the 2nd dress - Pepper on the 1st bride had such a lovely neckline on her. And the Nirvana dress looked amazing on the 3rd bride. Way better than the sketch too.
I'm so sad at what happened to Hayley. She deserves so much more than what she got for signing with these vultures. I hope she at least got to keep her designs, but I doubt it.
