The people of Los Angels are blessed to have a prophet among them. Because of the electronic media the whole world also is benefitting by his missionary zeal. Thanks to God.
Paul D. I'am a work in progress. I have been away so long and trying to find my way back. Your words have been a source of hope and inspiration to me!! Pray for me Bishop Barron that I find the way.
God loves all Catholics and wants all of them to be saved by trusting in Christ alone as savior...believing He died for all their sins past, present and future, was buried and rose again on the 3rd Day according to the Scriptures for their justification! (1st CORINTHIANS 15:1-4) If you are trusting in anything apart from Christ and His finished redemptive work on The Cross ALONE for the remission of all your sins and eternal life you will die in your sins and spend eternity in hell and ultimately The Lake of Fire... Today is The Day of Salvation! Praying many trust in Him ALONE and get saved! (Not in the eucharist, not in Mary, not in angels, not in good works....Either you trust in Christ ALONE as your savior and are saved forever or you are trusting partially in Jesus and MOSTLY in yourself... "Verily, verily I say unto you he who believeth in Me HAS everlasting life." John 6:47
That Cathedral is an offense to God, devoid of reverence, beauty, or solemnity. The tabernacle, where the body, blood, soul, and divinity of Christ is present within the Eucharist, is hidden away, which emphasizes the heretical notion that the Mass is a banquet, and not a sacrifice. The "Altar" has become a banquet table, that puts into the minds of the faithful the notion that the mass is a mere celebration where they receive their 'special bread' instead of a perpetual sacrifice. The lay people receive in the hand, a liturgical abuse that has been condemned by countless saints, theologians, popes, and philosophers for centuries. And these are just a mere few examples of terrible blasphemous abuses that have entered into the Church and have caused us to lose 1/2 priests, 2/3 nuns, 9/10 child theology knowledge, 70% deny real presence, 1/3 attend mass, confession even more, destroy catholic families at the same rate as non catholic families, annulments 400 to 40,000, vocations from the hundreds to barely a dozen, heretical clerics, blissfully ignorant laity, etc. The Church no loner exists as it has for thousands of years, if St. Thomas Aquinas were to see the Catholic church now he would run away.
+Plethrin That Cathedral is an offense to God? How would you know? For that matter, how would Thomas Aquinas know? Aquinas thought it was pleasing to God that those he considered heretics be "exterminated thereby from the world by death" - Summa Theologica. Are you going to follow his advice?
Tin Man Blasphemy is an offense to God, that cathedral and for the most part the new mass itself is blasphemous. St. Thomas Aquinas is arguably the greatest theologian and philosopher the Church has ever seen, and he has been titled 'The Angelic Doctor'. If Thomas were to see the new mass, a mass bankrupt of beauty, reverence, and solemnity, which has caused the greatest crisis in the Church sense the 300's he would not be pleased. The areas of scripture that thereby command death to people whom are heretics or other things of similar likeness, are not eternal law, they are civil law. That is Thomas's opinion, one that most may disagree with, but is non the less an opinion.
rick nineg So just because something is common means it right. Morality never depends on fads and fashions of the day and age. God should not be profaned and hidden away. He should be at the center of the altar, as many popes have commanded.
Increasingly secular society, less evangelizing... THANK GOD! I encourage Catholics to stay 'away from the crowd'. Which society is truly more open, a secular society which allows citizens to practice a diversity of faiths or a Catholic society which seeks to impose its morality on others?

+Plethrin Most Cathedrals place their tabernacle in a separate smaller chapel inside or a side alcove. It's a common practice.
+Plethrin You're a moron.
