Krystal, Utah's hot start is not a big surprise. They went 12-10 in last 22 games last year. Good young team with tons of speed with a 2nd year coach. They should contend for a playoff spot. Was Troubs not Boos. Everyone should cut him some slack. He wasn't 100 percent in last year's playoffs and he did not want to move his family which is understandable. Won't be on the team next year.
Utah is riding on enthusiasm and thrilled to be playing in a new city and actually in front of big crowds. They're a young hungry and maybe a wild card for the playoffs. Krystal,I hope your win the Stanley cup. I was really rooting for them last year

If Utah played defense, they would remind me of the Gretzky Oilers. They are definitely fun to watch. The only thing you know for sure, is that they are going to score goals.
I would prefer the Blizzard with my second choice being the Mammoth. Mammoth is currently being used by the Colorado Mammoth of the National Lacrosse League, though...

New Utah Hockey Club fan here, what I heard was Yotes were already an up-and-coming team and were expected to be a playoff contender last season. Then when the rumors of the sale of the team to Ryan and Ashley Smith, the team went into a downward spiral. Ryan's newly created Smith Entertainment Group (SEG) bought the entire organization from the General Manager, Coaches, the players and all the executives to help with the process. So, we pretty much got a Playoff team. Let's hope they can keep the momentum going. GO UTAH!
You are not entirely correct. You forgot to add that the Utah Hcckey Club is a new and separate franchise. As a part of that sale, Ryan Smith acquired the hockey assets of the Arizona Coyotes (player roster, draft picks and hockey operations staff), not the entire organization. The Coyotes franchise intellectual property remained with now-former Coyotes owner Alex Meruelo. The NHL gave him a 5-year window to build an arena in Arizona. After the state trust land auction was canceled, he gave up the ownership rights to the now-dormant Coyotes franchise to the league. This includes the Coyotes name, logos, team history and records are owned by the NHL, not the Utah Hockey Club. Again, new Utah franchise with Coyotes players plus most staff employees. Throw in the fact that Matt McConnell and Tyson Nash were both retained in a separate business decision by the Smith Entertainment Group to fulfill the broadcasting side.

Coyotes didn’t have good ownership/support from management. Caused a large portion of the fans to lose interest. Utah has a good ownership group and has excellent experience with support to the fans and team. The same ownership group owns the Utah Jazz and the players feel more connected and excited to have fan’s passionate about the team. It’s provided a push to the players to play harder and you can see the passion in their playing.
It's weird that hockey is already back. Go Bruins. Aren't you going to visit the Mets? They're in the postseason they're facing the Dodgers in the NLCs and it will be electric at Citi Field.
What did the Coyotes do when they moved to Utah to be like this? They finally have a stable home with an owner that cares about them and are being treated like professional athletes
I live in Utah, but the tickets are so overpriced that I'll probably never get to go to a game. The cheapest seats for most games start at $125 for OBSTRUCTED VIEW seats. It's absurd. The arena just wasn't built for hockey and has horrible sightlines, very similar to when the Islanders had to play at Barclay's Center.
How could the Rangers who had the best regular season record last year lose to an expansion team in just the second game and how could Igor give up 6 goals after not giving up any in the first game against Pittsburg? I was at the game also. I normally hate when people blame the refs but Jesus Christ, this was so obvious that this was the Utah hockey club and the refs versus the New York Rangers. There were so many blown calls that the Rangers didn't get in their favor which were blatant penalties. And there were so many BS calls against the Rangers that weren't penalties. Especially that goalie interference one that Lavi even called out in the post game interview. They even took legitimate goal away due to a ghost interference call. I understand that Utah is technically new to the league and they want to create hype but they don't have to do it by tilting the ice completely in their favor. This was absolutely, by far, in my entire history of being a hockey fan, the worst officiated game that I have ever seen in my life.
It's almost like it was rigged. Let's let the new owner beat New York. It'll be great for the NHL. It's like 1994 night all over again! Those were definitely BOOs and not Trou's lol Zuuc gets more love than Troubs. Mika abandoning Igor at the end was a bold move tho.
The Utah Hockey Club bandwagon is so annoying. Looks like they have been searching TH-cam videos. Cannot believe the Rangers lost to this damn team and the newest Rangers killer, Clayton Keller. Throw in Dylan Guenther for good measure. Oh wait, they are the Rangers. They never surprise anyone when they lose in big spots (yes, even a home opener).
