2wd 8ft bed manual transmission 6 cylinder inline regular cab. A real pickup. Not these 4 door puny bed automatic crap. This is a pure pickup, not the nonsense coming out of the factories now.
I've had 2 of these trucks with that engine and transmission combo, one 2wd and the other 4x4. 2wd truck only had 76,000 miles on it, bought it as my first truck and paid $1600 for it 5 years ago. The 4x4 has 200,000 miles and still runs like a champ!
My neighbor has one of these! Don't know the exact year, but it's a red, supercab, V8 model. Absolutely immaculate, doesn't drive it in the winter. They tow their travel trailer with it every now and then.
I love these engines. Rebuilt several. They run so smooth. About to buy a 96 with this engine. Belongs to a university that keeps it in storage year round and only has 40k miles.
Put a new head on my 96. New ignition electronics with 267k on it still barks the tires with the automatic. It's sooooo smooth man 65 mom can't even hear it
paid 3500 for mine-I am so happy I cant believe-That 5 speed used to be Dana aluminum housing built by Mitsubishi 1500 RPM gets 65 miles per hour. Mine is cherry, with working AC and c lean interior
I've been wanting one of these for my first cars (i'm getting one next year) and this thing just looks like fun, i've always thought inline 6 bad go for V8 but now i'm reconsidering
My experience with inline engines that were built before the years of variable cam timing always had great take-off/ throw your back into the seat torque. Even my 1992 inline 4 Ford Probe I had would be preferred in City driving over my current 1999 Toyota Solara 3.0 V6. I'd have to get up to 4.3L with the GM vortec V6 to have the same kind of feel. My brother-in-law has an inline-6 in his BMW roadster and I'm just amazed of its performance off idle to 60-mph.
My dad has a 92 or 93 XL with the straight 6, manual, and vinyl flooring. He’s thinking about selling it to my brother or I bc the clutch is starting to mess with his knee now, when he started driving it again after getting it fixed his knee started hurting again. I talked to my brother and I knew he’s looking for a truck but he said he wouldn’t buy it, I’m assuming mainly bc it’s a stick. It would be so cool to have it. If I got it I’d probably partly overhaul the fuel system and see what needs to be done with the A/C. I don’t really use A/C but if it’s not $500 in parts it would be nice to have it working.
just picked up an 87 with the I6 and 4 speed manual. body is good although needs paint, has an oil leak, but she runs so good. long bed 2wd with dual tanks. says 77k miles, but who knows
I'm looking at buying an 88 with the same setup. Do you find it does okay at highway speeds without a fifth gear? Traffic around town hits 80mph in Pittsburgh. This truck would go for twelve grand up here in that condition.
Hey Joe, I just purchased a brand new 2020 Eminent White Pearl Lexus ES 350 with the Luxury Package and the difference between the 2020 and 2017 is crazy. Lexus really out did itself with the handling and body style of the new one. I traded in my 2017 for it and with the 0 percent financing it was a no brainier. I'm gonna be headed up your way next month and if you want to meet up and review the car let me know.

Man I love the long bed regular cab trucks

The quality looks great, so which iPhone SE version were you using to record this video?
Great looking truck man!! My hands shake a lot like yours… I always get asked almost everyday why they do.
Essential tremor man. Sucks
@@JoesGoldenGarage I know the feeling because I took many steroid as a kid growing up with asthma… I think that’s why I shake
I think 1996 was the year the piece of the optional body side molding trim on the bed behind the rear wheel on each side was removed.
I’m not as familiar with the trucks so I’m not real sure. Interesting facts to know
5 grand more like 15 grand these days
Right
Got mine for $1500 with only 90,000 miles with the factory 4.9 in-line 6.
I got mine with 50k miles. It was college maintenance work truck for 1200, but I had to do everything. It was worth every penny 😉
Everyone down here in so Flo is asking at-least 5k for a 200k miles 4.9
I'm hoping to have one soon myself

oh yeah those new 2020s are incredible, the contouring in the back is really aggressive and reminds me of a 7 series or S Class
