In this tutorial I wanted to demonstrate step by step how to get your Zebra Lp2844 Thermal Label Printer Setup on your home network using a mac computer. These little printers are amazing! =) They work excellent for eBay 4x6 shipping labels.

I'm trying to print with a Zebra GX420d thermal printer from my Mac. Everything seems to be set up - I send the label, green light blinks, little envelope icon pops ups, printer says job complete, but nothing happens. The IP address is showing up as 0.0.0.0 on the printer. Do you have any videos or direction to help me with this issue? I'm at my wits end trying to figure this out. Thank you.

Dont know actually. The software eric uses and the software you need to network it easy wont work on mac. Maybe eric will do a video sometime on it.

Is there any way to make the printer wireless or bluetooth compatible? Mine's too far from the router to run ethernet, and it's annoying connecting via USB every day
I purchased this same printer and followed all your steps, unfortunately the IP address on mine starts with a 10 which I found out is a private IP address that are locked so they can only be used in certain areas/zones and are not routable. Do you know a workaround with this issue? I'd like to try anything before I return it. Thanks!
Very helpful! Similar to another comment, when I print over the network from my Mac the label is all pretty fuzzy, especially the barcode. When I print from my PC (where my Zebra is connected via USB) it prints quite clear.
I think it has to do with how Mac interacts with the printer. If the post office can read it and scan it should be good to go, I haven't had an issue there.
I bought two Zebra ZM400 and two ZT230 recently from a business that closed its doors. They look to sell for about $500 each on Amazon and less on eBay. Question, would you keep and use these for your business or sell these and buy a smaller printer like the one you’re featuring here or a Rollo, etc.?
Hi nice scores! I would test them fully and probably sell them. The zm400 is for high volume and I live in a small apartment doing low volume, wouldn't be for me. I like a sell contained network printer like the lp2844 network one in this video, or brother ql-111nwb. That's just me, I'm not a fan of the Rollo design, but it's not a bad printer.

Hello I bought this printer per you reviews and setup no problem on my Mac, but my barcodes on my ebay labels come out in rough shape the PO can still read it but they are jagged and not straight smooth lines. I cleaned my print head twice any ideas? Love your reviews Thanks
Its the mac driver. It is like that for a lot of the labels. Eric have mentioned it a few times in videos. Not just with Zebra printers. It is the built in driver on mac that does this and until a new driver is released nothing can change it.
Mine came with a ZebraNet PrintServer II device and I followed step by step the setting up parts a takes longer than usual and then says " Unable to verify the printer on your network" Please help !

The labels can be a little blurry as long as they scan at the post office you are good to go. Do yours scan?
This worked the first time I tried... However when I tried again after removing the printer because the printer was printing all the labels in reverse order ( that setting was not enabled ) I ended up removing the printer and adding it again however I always get an error message “ Unable to verify the printer on your network unable to connect to “ 192.168.1.244” fur yo an error. Would you like to still creat the printer? When I do it does not work. It’s strange how the first thing I ever tried this it worked perfect. I have tried many times to set it up without success following these steps.
I bought a LP 2844-Z Zebra printer and I'm having trouble with the printer actually printing anything. I first tried connecting it with the printer attach to my Mac and it keeps the status "Idle" and every time I try printing a sample label my computer says the print is done but nothing actually comes out the printer. I then tried using the method from this video but when I pressed the button in the back I wouldnt get any print that contains the address. Any help would be appreciated!
For the Z version you need to use the ZPL driver not the EPL2 driver. It's a different printer than the one I showed in this video.
@@thecollegepicker @alondra i set up the epl2 driver and i got the same problem. i was able to set it up on my macbook pro and tried testprinting. my printer notified it's finished printing, but nothing was actually printed :/
I'm having the same issue. Tried the ZPL driver but nothing is happening.
Mine worked but stops in the middle of printing and goes to stand by any help would be appreciated.( it does work perfectly on my windows laptop not my MacBook)
Update figured out that I have to mess with the settings manually in order for it to print out using my MacBook Pro awesome video by the way.

It seemed that everyone flipping has a shipping label 🏷 printer 🖨. I’m 73 and do this as a hobby to stay busy. Don’t want to sink mucho dinero into it. Would be nice to be able to use the Dymo.

@@michaelwiebers9656 I have a dymo 400, I will make a video showing how you can print USPS labels with ebay. That is the limitation with the dymo 400. =( Cheap but will only work with ebay USPS labels.
