Thanks for this Jeffrey. My first concern is that it's done externally to the website. It makes me nervous to have that extra layer - what happens if they go down? And, how does it handle cache refreshes while making changes to pages, posts, etc.? How about when migrating a site, does the optimization then have to be recreated?
Hi Ron! I'm from the AirLift team. I agree with Jeffery, these are really helpful questions that will help us communicate better in future...I'll try to answer them concisely - 1. About dependency - this is a longer answer, but in lieu of keeping it short, the summary is that we've built many failsafes to ensure that there are limited dependencies between our servers and your sites. This way your sites are fine even if our servers blow up :p 2. About cache - at regular intervals our servers check changes on the site & auto clear the cache + we also provide a "clear cache" button inside wp-admin 3. About Migration - If migrating to a new server without changing the domain/url, our system automatically sets up the optimisations. When changing domain/url, you need to install it again by pasting the new url (like the first time)

@@LytboxStudio Hmm, I had the WP Super Cache plugin activated, what I did was delete the Airlift plugin via FTP, the site came back to life, I uninstalled the cache plugin and tried again by reinstalling Airlift. This time everything worked as expected. I tried it with another site and everything worked fine. Amazing. Thanks for the recommendation.

Hey that's very worrying. I'm from the AirLift team....did our support help you out? Otherwise maybe share your user email & I'll help
This broke my entire site. I couldn't even log-in anymore.👎
Man so sorry to hear this! There's an option in the Airlift dashboard to disable Airlift. This should bearing your site back.
I should have mentioned in the video to test on a staging or cloned site first. There's some serious optimizations happening and can conflict with other plug-ins. The Airlift team is following all the comments and around to help.
@@LytboxStudio I tried everything to recover, nothing worked. There was nothing I could do other than restore a backup..
@JurgenMorel good thing you had a back up but it shouldn't come to that. It would help to let the Airlift team figure out what happened.
You did give me an idea though for my next video 'Testing and bug fixing for WordPress' I already scheduled this for next week.
Let me know if there's anything I can do to help
@@LytboxStudio I will wait for your new video and then try again.
Hi Jurgen...this sounds very bad. If you click the support button in the dashboard, I can assure that they'll fix this for you & explain what happened. If you're too pissed for that, I can also help if you share the user email
