Great tips, April. Very refreshing and wise.
My tip: Know your why. Think about why you are learning Tarot and /or Oracle. Your why can change and evolve, of course. But taking a moment to examine your reason for reading and learning can help light the way forward. It's a great way to learn about yourself and can help you develop your own unique reading philosophy and style.

This is so true! My why has changed over the years and being in touch with that has made me a better reader.

Although I have been reading tarot for years I still took some great advice from your tips. I think for me my worst habit is seeing, for instance, the 3 of Pentacles & having immediate associations around it, instead of looking more carefully at the symbolism present in the card. It is always good to look at the cards with a fresh perspective! As you said symbols mean different things to different people, and on different days so you shouldn’t get too tunnel visioned about it.
Another thing I sometimes like to do is to describe in detail what I am seeing in the card as this often triggers new/different associations, and also to use pathworking as a technique where I step into the card and see what interactions I have with the characters, landscape etc. I find these techniques work well for me as an intuitive reader.😊

Tip number 2 you mentioned is what I do... dialoguing with myself about the card often makes me see something I never saw before!

Great tips! I think the biggest lesson for me was finding out what kind of a reader I am. For example, I have learnt that I am an intuitive reader and sometimes my interpretations deviate from given meanings. This is especially the case with tarot decks whose art doesn’t closely follow the RWS/Thoth etc and oracle decks. Sometimes my interpretations of the same card in a one card draw changes with each reading. I have learnt that that is okay…and I haven’t been arrested by the tarot police once! 😂 Have fun, go with your own heart (mind, soul etc) and however you do things, is the right way for you…and THAT is all that matters. Very much your tips as well! Blessings 💖

Those are GREAT TIPS - I would add, and it may sound obvious but if you want to learn Tarot use a basic Rider Waite Deck deck - it is MUCH easier to learn from that than a more art style deck- I made that mistake and when I finally used a basic RWS tarot that is when it really came together quickly . thanks for yet another great video

I just started to read Oracle and have trouble because I’m very literal about things & feel the need to follow what the book says. What is your favorite Oracle deck?
