    Never noticed how similar the fall into this place is to the slide into Bed of Chaos. Apparently the slide in the Bed is supposed to symbolize an "unbirthing", a journey back through the cervix of the mother of all demons... what a weird boss that turned out to be, and little surprise given Miyazaki's direction and hands-off management of that zone until the last minute

      Given that the wiki doesn't say who posted it, I would be wary. There was one guy that got banned from the Bloodborne wiki for spamming his theories everywhere he could without explicitly stating they were theories, so this could be him.

    • @chompythebeast
      @chompythebeast 3 ปีที่แล้ว +21

      @@garbouwdeark9103 Indeed, it coming from the wiki is why I put in that mild "for what it's worth" warning. However, the official concept art is pretty damning, in my opinion, especially when paired with the heavy emphasis on all aspects of the female reproductive system in Bloodborne. Miyazaki's head was clearly working that area at the time.
      I wish I could find that quote I remember hearing about the boss being difficult to design to Miyazaki's directions, but I'm afraid I can't remember where that was, so I suppose take that with a grain of salt too. But it jives very much with what we know as common knowledge about Miyazaki's misgivings regarding Izalith.
      Overall, it fits, really. It makes sense to me, and lacking an official admission from the devs, I think the concept art is pretty close to an official confirmation of the "theory". It also provides an answer to the question many have asked: _"What the hell were they thinking when they designed this boss?"_ It seems they went in with an idea based on a theme that they ultimately found difficult to execute in a fun way from a gameplay perspective, not least of all because of their time constraints. It's a pretty interesting idea though, I reckon

But no.. Meeyahzuhki had to retcon these cool things.

    one mistimed dodge and I took the spinning sweep attack to the face and then boom.
    3 running attacks.
    He used his close range ice aoe and I sent another volley of dark orbs.

      The series goes a lot like the lifespan of a mortal life. In infancy, it is adorable, loveable and likeable by nearly all, a promise of the future and a bright example of what can be. In its mid life, it made decisions and took actions we wouldn't have expected from looking st its infancy. Some were good, some great, other bad, and some horrible. Nearing the end if its life it came full circle. The realization of the end in sight, time ticking away, lapping at the waters of life that yet remain within, drying them up. An appreciation of finality and the ultimate result of entropy, the inevitable return to dark.

DS2 is what happens when a novice (The Lost Sinner, heavily implied to be a former Head Priestess of Eleum Loyce) messes with forces she doesn't understand and starts a raging fire that can't be contained. It's akin to those fires that start in coal mines that will burn uncontrollably underground feeding off the coal veins for decades or centuries.

      3 used a lot of assets from bloodborne and it's also the most linear of all the games, 3 also buried its self in the fan service of one where as 2 expanded on the concept.

      Fun fact, the original release of DS3 had a big chunk of Central Yharnam / the Cathedral Ward in the game files. So it might very well not just LOOK LIKE BB, but straight-up reuse stuff. (It's been patched out now, sadly. At least the chalice dungeon known as the Demon Ruins is still there)

    Honestly, I think after Dark souls 1, dark souls 2 has the most fun looking areas, obviously they have a bunch of issues like ugly textures but I just love their vibe. Dark Souls 3 is a good game but I find the areas pretty boring. It doesn't have a Dragon Aerie, a Majula, ect

    • @Rakshael
      @Rakshael 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Majula was good but dragon aerie was a pretty bad area tbh, design and flow-wise. It's even got a freaking statue at the end of a rope bridge for literally zero reason, and the dragon's purpose in lore and in game mechanics is pretty bland. The castle itself has one single hidden/interesting path and is extremely difficult to do anything besides simply run to Ancient Dragon over and over.
      I think the Bastille, Heide, Forest of Fallen giants fort, and Tseldora areas are some of the most fun to traverse and play around in, with some of the most interesting visuals. (not counting DLC areas because obviously those are S-tier designs)

      @Long Sub I think DS2 has a solid soundtrack, out of the trilogy I'd put it below DS3 but above DS1 in terms of music. And I think the areas are more visually appealing than they are in DS3 since alot of DS3 has a washed out, greyish look. But DS1 has more visually appealing and fun to play through areas than DS2 and DS3 imo. DS3 by far has the best bosses and enemy design in the series.
