MEDITATION is soothing and beautiful. The left hand settles on a simple C Major harmony. You may count the rhythm with a steady, slow pulse or treat the ties like fermatas and just listen to the sound fade.

You can probably find other arrangements through Vanderbilt. Mine is available for digital download here: musicdiscoveries.shop/products/scarborough-fair
Harp is kind of a heavenly dream sound which i feel like
Such clear teaching. Thanks Anne.
You're welcome! I appreciate the kind feedback :)
Your arrangement is wonderfully mysterious and soulful
Thank-you Anne, lovely description!
Thank you for this video Anne. I really benefit from breaking things down into small pieces. It helps so much. I had a bit of a relapse the past several weeks, but I am back up and running and hope to begin work on this piece today! Can't wait.
Great, have fun getting back into it! The nice thing about music is that it is always there waiting patiently for you.
Omg I'm now going to master the Harp after playing percussion for years. Love it!
I’m going to listen for “inner Anne” as I’m playing - she’s very helpful & encouraging! 😊Thank you for this excellent break-down lesson, Anne
You're most welcome, Susan! Have fun learning Scarborough Fair!
Love this video. So VERY helpful. Thanks, Anne, for your tutorial and your generosity in sharing your skills and talents.
You're welcome, Janet. I'm so glad it was helpful to you! Thanks for watching!
this arranged version can be played on a 26 string Fullcicle?
This one would need quite a bit of tweaking to work on 26 strings. You might like my arrangement of "The Grenadier and Lady", which sounds very similar and will work on a small harp.
This was great Anne. I am looking forward to our time together in Nova Scotia this August!
Gail Hewitt Oh I’m so glad you joined me! Looking forward to meeting you when you come to NS!
Nice breakdown of the movement. Strangely, this morning I actually tried Scarborough Fair (not a favourite, sorry) which I haven't looked at/played in years. But thanks to this, I'll redo this section because the movements are so critical.
I love learning with you Ann - this is such a lovely arrangement - thank you 😊
Glad you enjoyed this! Thanks for watching!
Thank you so much for this video!
You are so welcome!
Love it
Hallo Ann, Thanks for this clear video! I’ve bought your arrangement, but I’m struggling with measures like 10 & 12 . Can you please make a detailed video of those sections?
Thank you so very much!! Kindest Regards, Chantal
Tricky little spot! I'll put that suggestion on my list of tutorial ideas. That ornament shows up in a number of my pieces.
I am SO GLAD I found you! Your videos make it so enjoyable to learn, I can't thank you enough! I've just started the harp and found your channel through this video. I can already hear my inner Anne following along. ❤
I love it! Keep listening to your inner-Anne! LOL
Beautiful arrangement! Really love this and bought the sheet music and tried to practise last weekend. Then realized that it's above my current skill level (early elementary ;P ) . Then I went back to the Garden Melody (which is slow and beautiful, easier to follow). Noticed that there are many rolled/broken Chords in the melody, wondering if you have any tip on practicing this specific technique mentioned in any teaching video? Thank you
Yes, Scarborough Fair is more advanced. You'll get there! I believe Tiffany Schaeffer did a video to help with rolled chords.
This is a beautiful arrangement and your instructions are so clear and helpful.
Thank you Anne xx
Thank you so much! Glad it was helpful!
Your Dusty Strings harp sounds so ethereal and heavenly, my dream harp
Oh thank-you! I love my Dusty!
I need lesson 2 on Scarborough Fair please
Did you get stuck?
@@annecrosbygaudetmusic Thank you for your answer, I did not, I think I did well with the right hand, however as a beginner I am not used to using the left hand for chords. Is your version of scarborough fair suitable for a 26 sytring fullsicle (harpsicle fully levered)?
The tablature withe the 4 number of the fingers is SO GOOD!
Abcf...e remember me Danny elfman's batman theme! By the way, great lesson
Thank-you! Funny, now I hear Batman too!
What level would you pitch this one Anne? I do love your arrangement.
I'm calling this early intermediate because I included quite a lot of fingering support and the coordination and rhythm are quite straightforward. That being said, there are opportunities for learning how to do lever changes, three-note embellishments and crossovers. I think it's one of those pieces that sounds harder than it is.
Really helpful lesson and very encouraging. Thanks.
Glad it was helpful!
Looking forward to this!
You are amazing ! Inspired me to buy a harp and learn
Wonderful! Thank you!
Thank you. xxxx lovely arrangement.
Many thanks!
