Have been looking for this for years...he & his band played at our junior-senior prom in 1962. He was an adorable performer who died young, of liver cancer, I believe. We had the most wonderful, ideal town and teen hangout-probably the best in the U.S. Just good, clean fun!! Music lover in Conroe, Tx.
Hello Bruce, Great to see your name. I'm a longtime KNUZ listener. I'm a record collector of local and TX music. I even have your great KNUZ LP with your great track included! Thanks for the memories.
"he & his band played at our junior-senior prom in 1962." Lucky dog! He was a cutie! I used to hang around Van's Ballroom everyone once in a while. I also spent time at Van's Stampede Ballroom dancing the whip, 2-step, Cotton-Eyed Joe, etc., with some of the hunky cowboys. :) Those were the days!
Who wrote this letter was recorded by Ceil & Ann, i went to school with them. we used to go to a dance hall on hirsh rd on the north side of houston and listen to them play every weekend. man those were the good old days. i can't find the song either.
How did you find it. We used to go to his performances in the 60's at Van's Ballroom, off Shepherd. He was real cute and did a little dance show with a partner to "Harlem Shuffle."

I just Googled CL and learned that he died many years ago at the very young age of 51. Too sad. :'(
