Pero qué maravilla, qué delicadeza. Es ya una de mis interpretaciones favoritas. Qué bien entiende el alma de la canción, sus vueltas y sus secretos. Bravo
A beautiful experience hearing this on such a fine instrument too. I love a guitar with so much body in the tone, but equally love the tones of the past.
This is a piece I know quite well, ever since, late at night, the local radio broadcast music for the vihuela. You play a varied version of the Narváez, which is, in turn, a variant of the original Josquin (or whoever) chanson. I studied it rather closely last year, as I transcribed some of Narváez' music for the harpsichord.
So glad you like it, thank you for sharing your thoughts! There are many versions of the Mille Regretz tune that are well worth exploring! How does the Narváez work on the harpsichord? Thanks for listening and supporting Luteweb! 💕
Very beautifully played. A really nice version you make. And, you are the lute (vihuela) player, that I know of, who plays with the most different colours. I like the octaves you have on the 4'th string. Is that normal on vihuela's ?
Learning modern classical guitar is more than enough to keep me busy but the earlier guitars are fascinating to listen to. I see you also have what appears to be a 17th century slot machine behind you.
@@luteweb This was the very first time I have ever heard a vihuela. I have seen the vihuela some in early Renaissance paintings and in some Spanish baroque paintings. Your interpretation of Mille Regrets of Josquin Desprez is sublime.
So beautiful! I'm curious - do you improvise the small deviations from the score (like the arpeggiations), or do you plan them out? Either way, I love them! 😀
Hi there! 👋 In this video, I'm playing a 6c vihuela. If you want to hear the 5c baroque guitar, check out my playlist 👉 th-cam.com/video/B8AKoow6wWI/w-d-xo.html Thanks for watching! 💕

Possibly the best sounding vihuela I have ever heard 😊 Who made it?
Thank you! I have to say, I'm jolly pleased with it! It was made by Martin Haycock. martinhaycock.co.uk 💕

Nice video. Can you recommend a smaller size guitar for someone with smaller hands?
You can get small guitars. I certainly play on smaller instruments. It can make a big difference. I hope this helps. Thank you for watching! 💕

So glad you like it! Yes, they are just little improvised deviations from the written score! Thank you for listening Eric.💕
You draw a very beautiful tone from that vihuela--not something everyone can do.
Thank you for your kind words James! 💕
Great Emperor who renaces a Caesar names on his soul.
Thanks for listening! 💕
Is this a renaissance or baroque guitar? How many strings? Normal tuning? Thanks
Hi Jos! This is a vihuela - a Spanish lute. Its tuning is similar to a 6c renaissance lute in G. Thanks for listening! 💕
@@luteweb expensive?
@@JosSae2 it depends on the quality of the instrument. 💕
Soulful as usual. Is vihuela technique similar to that for lute?
So lovely of you Alfonso! 💕 Yes, although I find in order to get a good clear tone, I have to adjust the way I strike the string.✨
I need 5 course baroque guitar. Do you have any advice mom?
