If you are asked for the exact value then you would not take the square root but simplify and reduce. However, in a word problem, if you are asked to find the value for x, it’s unlikely that someone who is cutting out a square would know how big 10 plus or minus 5/2 square root 10 is. 😂

The only thing that would be good is if you when over the revenue, cost, profit, and demand function.
I normally cover that in the grade ten course but, yes a review of those concepts would have been a good thing.
