My brother was the original drummer of the band Sunfish who became Geneva. He left to do a music degree in Newcastle as the signing wasn’t happening!! Then they got signed. Great band, enjoy many a night out watching Sunfish 🤘🤘🤙🤙
I could write forever on how the bands today don't even come close to comparing to the likes of Geneva, Teenage Fanclub, Longpigs and so many more. But instead hold this thought. Briptop era gave us Louise Wener, Shirley Manson, Sonia Aurora Madan, Miki Berenyi, Saffron...today we have Beth Ditto. Todays bands don't know the meaning of the word cool.
thanks for the comment. in fact there are another two videos for this song. one was an alternate uk video which was never released and the other was filmed in LA for the US. unfortunately i don't have either.
Yeah it's so sad, "Tranquilizer" was voted single of the year in NME, they also headlined the NME "bratbus" tour, all 4 singles from the first album went top 40, a couple other bands in the same vein did so well, like Gene but I guess it wasn't to be. But I saw them live early on because thankfully they were from around the same area I'm from. But your right, should have been far more successful-the 2nd album wasn't quite as strong in my opinion, maybe there was too much stress on them to write and push another album out that it just didn't work for them, I dunno but it's a shame nonetheless
Here in western Japan. Ipod on (one ear), this song, helmet, and red Honda. Into the blue, to the Pacific, rushing forward, and forgetting all the crap that happened to me in the UK. Perfect song to compliment the feelin'.
Solid band, got lost in the shuffle. Saw them live around '97 and they were great. Channeled The Bends era RH with a serious Kitchens of Distinction influence. Bit of The Smiths in there too. Great stuff
Just took out my Geneva 'Further' album.... Temporary Wings has one of the best record beginnings!!! Raw and F@ckin LOUD!!!! The candle that burns twice as bright........ Same for Geneva.
I remember when they released no one speaks and this too. What they were doing was too different from what was going on at the time with the Britpop thing but its a real shame that they never found the success they deserved. They should have been huge. Great song though.
Feel so blessed I saw them live with Catherine wheel

I can't believe how simply fantastic this tune is...

The music scene has become very fractured. You either like noise or melody, it seems to me.

17 years and only 89k views, mindblowing. We are the privileged few ❤
One of the best songs of the 90s. Brilliant.
underated band and song...
I’ve not heard this song for a very long time. Super awesome.
Loved this song back in the day & the singer’s voice. I’m sure I thought it was a female singing on first listen. Beautiful 💗🎶👍🏻
I always used to play this song when I needed a pick-me-up. It still sounds great and makes me smile. Thanks for uploading.
One of the most underrated bands and singers ever. Back in 2021. Let's make them as massive as they should have been!!!
you are right, but its hard because britpop cant reproduce the glory of the 90s.and now its the era of electronic music that is not cool at all.
Binging geneva rn, every track makes me more emosh, their music is timeless. So beautiful and brilliant ❤
Great song from a great band 😎
they should have been absolutely huge, they had it all. And are surely an influence on Muse...?

One of the underrated bands in 90s. I have all songs in mp3, but gotta buy Further in cd.
Excellent band.
Absolutely in love
Beautiful Song.
i saw them over 10 yrs ago they were brilliant live
I saw these guys a bunch of time back in the day,. They were fantastic live - far better than the headlining bands they were supporting in most cases.

Perfection
Brilliant tune from a superb band that never got their just rewards.. Like Puressence both bands were better than their chart positions..
I agree. Fantastic song (not convinced about the video though). Also Puressence. never got the recognition they deserved.
Niiiiiiiiice song!!!!! I love it!!!!!
Just took out my Geneva 'Further' album.... Temporary Wings has one of the best record beginnings!!! Raw and F@ckin LOUD!!!! The candle that burns twice as bright........ Same for Geneva.
Cracking Tune!!
I have that song in cassete, recorded in 1996 or 1997, i don´t remember!!!
Hope one day my children will see my comment here...this is your father favorite song back 90s...
I bought this on cassette in Woolworths...
Just heard this. Don't remember it but what a brilliant catchy song. Shame they're not still making music🎶🎶🎶👌👍🤘
They reformed. But due to pandemic and geography. New music is in hold. Released couple songs though
@@bazzaspluttersobersaurus8009 cheers. What are the songs? On TH-cam? 💙👍👊👊🎸🎸
Memory wars and fault lines
@@bazzaspluttersobersaurus8009 cheers. Will check out. And yes looks like they reformed for some gigs in 2019. Really hope they do an album.👊👍💙🎸

Hugely underrated song

I have this on CD Single somewhere...????
geneva`s album of weather underground is excellent,i think this band is not inferior to those famous britpop bands in the 90s.
갓네바의 갓투더블루~ ㅠㅠ
I've been saying this for years.
Should have been bigger, really...
Voice to text mishap brought me here (not kidding)
It was MEANT TO HAPPEN...
