It looks developed, built up, american. I think it's better with the concrete, especially when everything else is still so under-developed. Obviously in real life the situation is different...
Great build, as always! Not sure what you think of it, but might be good to ban heavy truck traffic on the new access, looks like it might cause trouble pretty soon.
I'm sorry, but to me a car park at a tram stop is just misunderstood transit hierarchy... Nobody in their right minds would ever drive to a tram stop and then park their vehicle there, because trams are frequent-stop short-line high-frequency services. They usually replace trips that could be reasonably walkable if you had to, but people take the car to be convenient. So to get people out of cars and into trams, the tram stop has to be in easy walking distance of start and end of the journey. Once you have decided that you need your car for at least part of the journey, you're just gonna do the full trip in your car. This is totally different, obviously, for actual rail transport (that preferrably is even quicker than cars), but trams are less "light rail" (even though the US calls them that often) and more "high capacity, dedicated lane, signalling priority bus"
Does anyone know where I can find configuration details for the theme/lighting/LUT/skybox or whatever combination of mods and settings is used to achieve this particular look? Thanks in advance! Also shout out to @YUMBL for making absolutely awesome content!
This should be fun!! Here's a question I have though. Did you guys use a Mod for the Tram Depot? Nothing against the in game one.. but I feels it's way too large at times if on an island or small area This'll be fun watching as this city expands
@YUMBL bummer!! Really wanting a small one. Like a third of the size. Would help reduce the need to go a long distance when have to return. And smaller local routes reducing the amount of track/road needed
Before I forget later, the overpass in the first few minutes is a bit weird. You have traffic from the north that only needs a lane going right, but instead you make it go left on a plain crosroads crossing the otherwise free flowing traffic up from the south side? Why?
The road coming off the highway is next to a huge embankment. Its a way to connect the roads and get the vehicles up that embankment without destroying it. I was inspired by the topography, and this configuration favors exiting traffic, as now they only need to make a right.
Holy molly, you lost about 3M dollars just in the building segment of "highway connection" lol. And then on "Buildings" back at 5 million. Now that's a magic trick!
Why don't consoles have asymmetrical 4,5 and 6-lane roads? This is a little sad for the rest of us. All available roads should be a no-brainer for them to add to consoles.
@@YUMBL The fact you need to disassociate built in features from mods makes me even more angry lol. PC can get them is the entire point AND CONSOLES cannot.
Yea, the ports of the game are quite limited. I wish they would include these common and essential configurations into all versions though. Even on pc when I share an interchange I want to have these useful networks “built in” so people don’t have to download additional roads.
Tram loops over here in Helsinki are common, but they are usually like a half of a figure-8. Reversible tracks require the driver to get out, a loop doesn’t.
Finally, an actual Yumbl city build! Praise God!
A charming little area! I'm always interested in seeing walkable/transit-enabled areas. :D I hope your holidays passed pleasantly.
Great start to round 3! Love the height and mixed uses.
You were part of THIS, Alright You're forgiven for not posting for two weeks. I can't stay mad at a fellow Southern Yankee.
He's from New Hampshire originally 😳
@@ComfortableFetus And how much of New England is in Canada?
@@ComfortableFetus Also I was refering to the fact that we're both Yankees that moved South.
I really like your detail work. It's given me ideas on how to develop my downtown area.
This has certainly inspired me to build my own tram and pedestrian town!
I wish I could share you what your inspirations has done to my tram cul de sac design. But YT wont let me share links.
I’m on all kinds of other platforms. Feel free to post it on another one :)
Better to be a smart fella than a fart smella
The first thing you build and already it would make a death trap for drivers making a T junction on a 2 curve road :p
Thought my phone was upside down for a second.
I thought he was in Australia.
That parking area could've used more grass, less concrete

Obviously in real life the situation is different...
I think it would've looked less good. Makes the parking lots blend with the area.
"Oh no, train traffic. Anyway..."
Happy new year 🎆🎊!

The parking lots are for traffic from the highway that want to come to the plaza. They’re not walking off the highway ;)
i cant wait for this to be done!!
Hi. How did you remove the flickering shadows from the trees? 0:11 - flicker. 0:14 - no. Can you tell me, please?
I don’t remember changing anything in between shots.
This is literally art

Great Build :)
i always wonder, how did you make your road so dark for all your map? is it any custom theme for road specifically? or the network skins?
the road is not precise at 2:35 needs improvements
What necessary DLC’s do you use?
Great build tho!
Hi, have you considered looking at the road builder mod and possibly making a tutorial of it? Thanks!
I’ll check it out :)
How do you get the road toolbar to have 3 rows?
“Yet another toolbar”

I didnt actually see where or what the tram depot is. I would bet its the vanilla one though.

Road options is the mod
@@YUMBL thank you!

A that explains it. Probably low traffic anyway there. Thanks for answering! 😊
Certainly something you’d see in real life too

I think we’re using “game anarchy”. No magic required!
Happy New Year.

PC doesn’t have larger asymmetrical roads built in either.

Builds a parking lot in place of a forest in 21. century build... Not approving that.
Tram loop looks unrealistic IMO. Just use reversible tram AI.
The loop is a temporary solution that I didnt even build.
