    THE GROUP WAS ACTUALLY FOUNDED BY ADAM RUPP AND CHRIS RUPP, WHO ARE BROTHERS. THEY ARE FROM MINNESOTA. THEY BROUGHT ON TIM FAUST, FROM SOUTHEASTERN TEXAS(AND IS VERY PROUD OF THIS) AND ROBB LUNDQUIST, AND THEN AUSTIN BROWN WHO IS FROM GEORGIA. THIS WAS THE ORIGINAL GROUP
    THIS IS THE GROUP THAT WON THE SHOW "THE SING OFF". THEY ACTUALLY HAVE SOME WONDERFUL SONGS FROM THIESE YEARS. DURING YHIS TIME THERE ARE SOME OF MY FAVORITES: CHRIS RUPP AND TIM FAUST DO A BREATHTAKING COVER OF "ANGELS AMONG US" BY THE GROUP ALABAMA. AND THE GROUP DOES A LOVELY COVER OF "MY OLD MAN", JUST TO NAME A COUPLE. THEY ACTUALLY HAVE HUNDREDS. LATER, CHRIS RUPP LEFT TO GO OUT ON HIS OWN. LATER HE WAS REPLACED BY ADAM CHANCE FROM ALABAMA( AROUND 4 OR 5 YEARS AGO.). THEY DID A COVER OF JOHN DENVERS " COUNTRY ROADS TAKE ME HOME" THAT IN MY OPINION WAS BETTER THAN THE ORIGINAL. TI FAUST, THE BASS ACTUALLY HAS A 5 OCTAVE RANGE. THEY ARE ALL VERY VERSATILE. YOU SHOULD DIVE IN, GO DOWN THE RABBITS HOLE, AND YOU WOULD BE AMAZED AT THE TALENT OF THIS GROUP. IF YOU HAVEN'T HEARD TIM FAUST DO "MISTY MOUNTAINS" WITH PETER HOLLENS , AND THEN HERE HIM SING TENOR IN "MAYDAY" , YOU CANNOT IMAGINE THE RANGE THAT TIM FAUST HAS. I AM A HUGE FAN, AS YOU CAN TELL. JUST SAYIN, HA!

    Just so you know, Tim Foust, superior bass guy, has a 5 octave range and can go from the lowest bass notes I’ve ever heard to a high tenor. These guys are all beyond talented!

      @@FortWorthFabian I believe that O Holy Night is also a Christmas Song!! In all the choirs that I sang in we sang it at Christmas

    Tim Foust (bass) is from southeast Texas; Adam Chance (baritone/bass) is from Alabama; Austin Brown (high tenor - curly hair) is from south Georgia; Rob Lundquist (lead tenor, beard & glasses) and Adam Rupp (beatboxer) are both from Minnesota. Austin and Tim are both also song writers and both can play piano. Adam Rupp learned jazz drumming to increase his accuracy - he and his brother (original band member Chris Rupp) started the band.

      Tim Foust (primary bass) can sing five octaves (bass to first tenor). He is powerful. If you are ever able to attend a concert, you can "feel" the base in your chest.

    Home Free was formed by Adam and Chris Rupp (both music majors) in college in 2000. Chris left in 2016 to go solo. Rob (music in college/bartender by trade)joined 2008, Tim (pre med in college) joined 2010. Home Free went on cruise ship as guest entertainers and met Austin who was a part of the ship's singing group. Austin a music theatre major in college joined Home Free in 2013. Group went on Sing off and won. Chance came on board in 2016 when Chris left. They can play lots of instruments but choose to sing a cappella. Best harmonies around!❤

      Tim was pre-dental it’s a little different than pre-med. Kevin from PTX was in school for pre-med.
      Tim also did some substitute teaching. Math I believe.

    You should check out their Sing Off performances with judges comments (for the best version). One commonly left out by reactors but the best on this show in my opinion is I'm Alright... Home Free vs Filharmonic. It aired after the 4th performance I think.

    This is the only version that Home Free has done of Amazing Grace that I am aware, although they do include 2 lines from the song in their cover of Go Rest High on That Mountain, both the music video version & Church Sessions version which are both just beautiful! All 5 of these guys (& Chris when he was a member) all grew up in church & Tim for sure grew up in the Church of Christ which doesn't believe in using instruments just the human voice. Tim did an episode of a podcast called Rock the Reset & he talks about his schooling. O Holy Night is certainly a Christmas carol!! If you'd like to hear some of the guys collaborate with others to hear them better check out Tim & Peter Hollens doing Misty Mountains, Sound of Silence & Greensleeves. Tim & Chris Rupp doing Angels Among Us. Adam Chance & The Hound + the Fox doing The Christmas Song & Hurt. Rob (& his friend Buegs from the acapella group The Sound Exchange) & The Hound + Fox doing Can You Feel the Love Tonight. & Adam Rupp, Chris Rupp, Elliott Robinson (the bass member of Home Free before Tim) with 2 other acapella friends doing Are You Ready for a Miracle.

      @meeting_meghan 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@donnabowen5054 oh alright. I've looked it up because all I've ever known is that they believe strongly that acapella is the proper form for worship, but it said some Churches of Christ do allow some instrumentation.

      Will Spidey - They asked Austin to join the group only after original member Matt Atwood decided to leave the group. You’re correct, though, they did first meet Austin on a cruise ship.

    Why do the melodies of this song so easily lend themselves to all these harmonies? Because at bottom this is a Gregorian Chant and it is centuries old and familiar.

    Dude Oh Holy Night is a Christmas Song when do they always play it? Don't let the trolls win they just have to argue. I believe they were started thru Church of Christ which doesn't believe in instruments in church.

    O, Holy Night celebrates the birth of Christ. That's about as Christmas as it gets.

    Dude, with respect to strike for copyright, the best way to cure this is interrupt the video and make a comment or two, playing the videos in full is how you get the copyright strikes.

  • @jackmandu
    @jackmandu 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Great reaction and comments. You talked about how Home Free was formed back in 2000 and how the members have changed over the years. There’s not a lot old stuff on YT, but here’s a video of Home Free from March 2011, before Tim, Austin, and Chance joined joined the group. It has Chris and Adam Rupp, and Rob Lundquist, plus original member Matt Atwood (tenor) and Elliot Robinson (bass). They all look so young and Rob barely has a beard. This is from a TV appearance in Chicago and they perform a cover of Train’s “Hey, Soul Sister.” th-cam.com/video/eGnd2Yh1FlM/w-d-xo.html
    Other great tunes form this era include King of the Road (bass lead by Elliot), Blue Moon, Under the Boardwalk (Matt Atwood on lead), and Stand By Me (Rob on lead). These are all on YT, but they are audio only.
