What a pleasure watching you mod/repair my Super Star 360, I purchased this radio in the early 80s and had many good contacts with it, the circuit board inside was a home made speech processor spent several evenings making the board then fitting all the parts, radio is working very well and I am enjoying many good contacts again. Thanks again.
I've made a few of the speech processor boards back in the day. Still have one fitted in an aluminum box with a meter. Is this the one that was published in one of the electronics magazines?
@@johnnyg1700 yes it was and I had a mate rip the page out of the mag in Smiths and we carved and drilled the PCB Board and fitted all the parts then fitted it to my President AR7 and it worked so good we made several of them for the local breakers those were the days
There's a few mods you can do to improve the 010A/B board sensitivity and bandwidth. Did many of them years ago. One of the simple ones is to replace the 1st RF receive amplifier transistor with low noise type. These boxes were always known for being a bit on the death side especially the Mk1 version boards. They improve even further with an active crystal filter fitted.
Another job well done those decals are nice you should put them under your wallet to put pressure on them lol I had a 3900 years ago nice radios it’s nice to read the owner is enjoying it again top job as always mate
Excellent video on the Superstar 360, good to see some Uniden type chassis on your bench. Did you guys ever have the Uniden 858 PLL in any of the UK chassis. I have a SS-158-EDX in my collection of radios. I’m impressed with your standard of work but it would be economically unfeasible to change on an hourly rate if I was to do the same, just an observation. Keep up the good work Stuart - Australia 🇦🇺
Por favor me podrias indicar donde conectar mi frecuecimetro para ver la fecuencia en tx y rx?? Gracias por todo muy buen canal enhorabuena. Mi placa es la pb010ab 360 fm.
Good to see a Uniden radio on your bench for a change, those boards look great, nice job too.

Thanks, I know of the transistor change, trying to find an active filter these days is hard.

Why is the s meter sitting at the phantom s 9 signal on rx ?
My noise floor is total rubbish .
Never seen that before tho on any of your other radios/vids. Nice job again tho.
i must be one of the very few if i get a older radio with uk muppets i take it out
Fair enough , it’s not for everyone , at least with my board there is no cut tracks and totally reversible .
@@MicroChipz i didnt mean it in a bad way towards your work i just hate the uk muppet band , all those chs to choose and most sit on 19 and dont move
@@Triple888jim correct it annoys me as well , I didn’t take it the wrong way :)
