I have been a fan since 92 one of my favorites texajano bands for sure, pero to me Jaime was the star the way he moved and danced with the accordion 🪗 and of course his voice can't be duplicated, but on the other hand his band was badass to they were a great team and no matter what it will never be the same, money is the devil and unfortunately we the fans suffer because a lot of our favorite bands break up, one that comes to mind is Secretto they were on the way i went to there first show in California last August and they sold the place out plus 1000 more people crammed in.

@LilyTovar-pi7rt she's Jaime's manager and probably wants a cut of the money. The meeting she was a part of was to set up the reunion. The money was to be split evenly amongst the musicians after show expenses. Any external management (Jaime's wife), should be paid by him if he wanted her around. She is not management for the other musicians and was to have nothing to do with the promotion of the reunion shows. There was no reason for her to be involved.

I'm glad Roel finally cleared the air of why and how he stayed with the name. He told me one night at a birthday party and it all finally made sense. Still ppl will hate that he stayed with the name. But honestly, the band deserves the name. Jaime is Jaime, Los Chamacos is the band.
Kinda sounds like what happen to the Kumbia Kings. Cruz Martinez kept the name y AB pos es AB and can keep the AB part of the band.
Crazy you say that, because I talked to Cruz about that too. Used to hangout with him at his house on Sierra Blanca here in Corpus. But as for this podcast, grown ass men willing to bury the hatchet for the fans, much respect!

Albert is a friend of mine, and former schoolmate. And im telling you, he is a good dude. He use to perform as a 13 yr old, in our school talent shows with a band, I can’t remember the name. He met up with Felix Alaniz Jr, who helped form the band Conjunto Oro. The band was 14-16 yrs old at the time, and consisted of Albert Canales ( lead vocals/accordion), Felix Alaniz Jr ( Bass), Robert Mitchell (Bajo Sexto), Frank Alaniz Jr ( second vocals/ percussions), and Robert Ruiz Jr ( drums). They practiced every night down my street, in the KBar subdivision in Alice, Texas. It was an honor watching these guys practice and play. Felix and Frank Alaniz passed away, both were cousins. Both Felix and Frank were very good friends, as well as Robert Ruiz. They were school classmates. Robert Mitchell and Robert Ruiz left the band at some point, Albert continued performing. Eventually changing the Name to Un Nuevo Oro. Im proud of them, as friends. They really started from the bottom, Albert is also multi talented in bass, guitar, and wrote most of the songs they perform.
