coach ramil saw that ust was actually fighting and catching up so what he did was he didnt put all his key players at once (yung sa isang set lahat sila nandon) so when they were on their 5th set, UST's key players were tired especially sisi rondina, on the other hand, la salle's kkd wasn't tired at all that's why they had an easy time during 5th set.

I watched it live and Sisi Rondina literally carried the whole UST Team on her back. From Offense to floor defense, she is unstoppable. You can tell Milena Alessandrini is having jitters at the first part of the game, and she is still adjusting with the UST’a core. She is a promising project for Coach Kungfu and the UST. She has a very steady floor defense as well despite of her height. Kudos to UST for giving DLSU a run for their money!
DLSU’s edge that match is their championship experience. You can really tell that the girls are still adjusting with Cobb’s playmaking skills, especially that Kim Fajardo also offers leadership. Cobb’s performance is superb as well having the best connection with Baron and Aduke. Dy is still recovering from a minor injury. While Macandili does her stellar perf as expected. Crucial lies between Cheng and Tiamzon though Cheng played an all around performance from spiking, digging, receiving and setting. Tiamzon needs to rekindle the fire she used to have during the finals last season. She was unstoppable that time.

This just proves that there's not gonna be an easy game this season even for La Salle.
For UST, parang naging 3-woman team sila dito. Rondina, Pacres and Alessandrini were the only consistent scorers. The others were non-existent. I also don't understand the flak received by Alessandrini in this game. Anong magagawa niyo kung ganyan maglaro eh rookie pa nga eh. For sure madami siyang matututunan sa larong ito. Tsaka okay naman basics niya. Okay din dumipensa sadyang napressure lang talaga siya kasi first game nga naman niya. But can you imagine her next year? Baka maging MVP contender na 'to.
For La Salle, they're still the team to beat but barely. Ang ganda talaga ng sistema nila eh. If you have a tried and tested system, no matter if you're rebuilding or not, magaling pa rin talaga kayo. Solid pa rin ang team kasi may sinusunod talaga eh. Cobb isn't that bad. Lalo na't may Dawn Macandili na binibigyan ka lagi ng magagandang first ball talagang dadali ang buhay mo pagseset. What I didn't like however, was their excessive complaining. Parang umaabot na sa pagdadadabog kung minsan eh.

Kahit UST naman, excessive complaining. Both teams kahapon. Yun lang, referee masyadong strict and di marunong magsabi ng ayos. Unang day pa lang, may yellow card both teams na. Sobrang gigil referre.

La salle is not "mahina" tho, nangangapa pa sila i think ust too dahil first game palang naman. Wag naman kayo masyado makapagsalita agad hahahahaha. DLSU's middle hitters and blockers are present, majoy, aduke and kim did great in the middle, cobb did great setting up the ball, open hitters tine and cheng did great too. Di pa lang talaga ganun agad agad pang finals na agad yung laro nila kagaya ng ineexpect nyo noh. They will improve just like last year when i doubted them that can they win this championship this year. I was wrong i know everyone will step up for the lady spikers, wait for it. #AnimoLaSalle
Agree! Yung first part ng game, mapapansin na basic plays lang yung ginagawa nila, kaya makikita rin na nangangapa pa sila sa isa't isa.

I'm a dlsu fan but seeing their game made me worry. Iba pla talaga pg setter nawala, kasi kitang kita nman na prang d nila alam gagawin nila. At sa 4th set pa na tinambakan cla ng ust. Pro I believe na mag iimprove pa cla, especially Michelle Cobb.

Tyarm Vl sa 4th set nga, c Des Cheng na yung naging setter. Nang nawala c Kaftain prng nawala confidence nila unlike last season. Nakikita ko c majoy baron na nag staredown ng ust player but wala na epekto yung pgsa swag nila dahil alam ng ust n may laban cla. Knowing hirap s setting ang dlsu resulting to freeball at kitang kita mo s galaw ng dlsu n may doubt na cla while ust played with fire. Naisip ko nga kung nandito cguro c laure tyak magdedelikado ang dlsu na manalo against them. But in the end, kaya nanalo ang dlsu ay dahil nangibabaw ang pusong kampeon nila.

Nandoon ako sa game, kung nandoon lang kayo, makikita niyo na hindi lahat ng key players ng la salle nasa court samantalang ang key players ng ust all out, knowing na magaling in offense ang ust pinaupo muna ni rdj sila kkd at pinagod yung mga key players ng ust lalo na si rondina, kaya sa 5th set mukhang pagod na sila rondina nyun samantalang sila kkd buhay na buhay.
Kapag DLSU at UST na ang naglaban, wala akong nakikitang hate at bashing :)

tilawakoha lamiauy hindi nman lost cause ang ust this season.. kailangan lng tlaga gumana ang opposite nila and the middle blockers.. and si bicar din kasi, hindi masyadong binibigyan ang ibang players.. kaya basang-basa sila ng la salle.. and for milena, hindi nman cya bangenge, first game lng kaya nya and remember december lng po cya sumali sa team, so hindi pa sila masyadong nggel.. but of all the rookies, isa tlaga sya sa mga high scorers..
i just said it to uplift their ids and egos :) im not the type of basher who says all good things ... and just hoping for another blue moon for them to improve their crafts. well i amend rondina shes a good player though but so small . but much better than other's team tall player with so little talent :)

DLSU will bank on their vets but NU and Adu and Feu have those too. If dlsu plays like this in the coming matches, it'll be a goodbye for 3peat. The teams that will give them scare would be feu and nu. I am atenean but idk if my team could be in the finals this year. However, I still wish for an injury free season.

Not really. Dlsu had a shaky start they weren't communicating like how it was when KAF was around. Once Cobb musters up her courage and finally voices out her emotions like how she really is when you see her in person DLSU will still be formidable. They just need to talk. They weren't celebrating like they used to.
dlsu vs ust/feu for season 80. Coach RDJ mentoring is superb before you know they will be at peak for this season.
This will be a great season for every school. And knowing the pride of AWVT di rin yan pahuhuli nu and admu will definitely fight for their places too.

milena did great (considering she is a rookie and mukhang delikado din ata yung arm niya... kahapon pa niya hinahawakan and stretch every palo niya. ate sisi was just ALL OVER THE PLACE. ate dimdim with her power hits and rj rivera improved immensely. Just hoping that our middle blockers will contribute more. but nice game UST. love it!!!

If Im not mistaken, Milena actually scored 16 or 17 pts on that game and that was her first uaap game. For a rookie on her first game, I believe she performed really well.

Ang ganda ng performance ng UST kahapon, ang daming players ang nag-step up. I thought mahihirapan sila going up against La Salle dahil wala si EJ na isa sa main scorers nila.
I'm also excited for Milena, I think may potential siya. Siguro kinakabahan lang dahil debut game niya at sobrang dami pa ng tao. May iniinda din na injury kaya hindi niya naipakita yung full strength niya.

Even though 5 sets yung match and sisi has 28pts and milena has 18pts, para saken masamang pagbabadya to for them. Expectation ko for UST this season is finally magchichip-in na talaga yung ibang players pero this match wala paren tumulong sa mga wing spikers. Sana magcontribute sila sa future dahil kung hindi mamamatay sa pagod si Sisi and Milena.

What makes la salle stand out from other teams?...they don't rely on just 1 or 2 players...they helped each other out. They always worked as a team...the reason why I became a fan of dlsu lady spikers. How about that season 79, 5 key players graduated but they still manage to win the title. Not really surprised of UST's performance, they won against la salle during the unigames (w/ laure and w/o baron). Then sa psl grand prix they played as ust team though may 1 import and with tin agno. Sa jelling palang lamang na ang ust sa la salle. Ust is not that weak at all, even if Milena is just a rookie still she has volleyball experienced abroad and she's tall,too. both teams are good, it's just that hindi sumuko ang la salle in the end that's why they won.

Milena showed promise as the new volleyball star kahit may iniindang balikat at tuhod. mahusay sya sa likod ha, naka dig, receive. pati blockings. kungsabagay sa ibang bansa nman talaga halos lahat kc cla matatangkad kaya sinanay na cla sa training. sana di na muna sya pinalaro. andyan nman c Sandoval. ayos nman c Cobb bilang setter ng DLSU, magaling nman sya, maliit lang. maganda ang ganitong laro kc mahirap malaman kung cno talaga ang sa finals. sa tingin ko mas nag improve ang UST ngaun kahit talo cla kc kung ikumpara cla sa mga laro nila sa mga nakaraang seasons, 3 sets lang halos tapos na ang game. lol. 2 na ang nakitang kong rookies na magagaling.
