Great lecture! I once read a book about calming signals very similar to what you're explaining and it really changed the way I look at dogs. For instance, a dog that I often walk usually lies down on her back, licks her lips, yawns, etc. when I walk straight towards her to put the leash on her. After I read the book I recognized the signals and now I usually approach her from the side and sit down next to her for a minute instead of reaching for her immediately. Little things like this have really changed my relationship with her and other dogs.
Many great ideas here! I hope all shelter staff can see this! it would really help the animals in their care! Shared on my Observation Skills for Training Dogs Facebook group. Thanks!
tnx 4 posting. we learned a lot. the microphone placement eliminated background noises and made this video very easy to listen to. some youtube lectures have soooo much ambient room noise it becomes difficult to hear the speaker.
Fantastic job. Extremely important for the beginning dog trainer to the master dog trainer. I loved this. I subscribed immediately after viewing this. Thank youuuuu!

Thank you, Linda. In fact, Maddie's Fund just launched a new presentation all about Feline Communication. Check it out here: www.maddiesfund.org/feline-communication-how-to-speak-cat/presentation_html5.html
Hello Juliana, do you want to add subtitles or be able to read closed captions? If add, what kind of information did you want to include? We have turned on the cc feature so let us know if that works for you. And thank you for watching!
Great lecture... although when you got on your soap box it was totaly biased an closed minded... other than that I really enjoyed your lecture.🤷♂️ why is it when you hear people with a certain opinion saying stuff about tools we use(when appropriate) prongs etc or training techniques(the only problem with tools is the lack of education on how to use them properly)... I really find it completely biased, some tools are necessary, tailored to the dog and its needs... its asif they don't want people to use these tool why? why not educate on how they should be used properly?.. seems to me the end goal is to justify putting animals to sleep... coz sometimes tools are needed an will save the dogs life... its like we always put people that use certain methods in categories an call them cruel or inhumane... what I think is in humane is to alow an animals behaviour to escalate untill they can't be part of your life or ultimately they get killed because of there behaviour 🤔 I keep an open mind an learn from all different styles of training. Peace out ✌ ☮ 🕊 🏳 ✌
very interesting and educational, but it's anoying that everytime I watch something on this subject the same remark comes when "dominance" comes up. Just say his name. And watching Cesar Millan, I never seen him scare or hurt a dog.
Incredible! So much new and interesting information 🙏

I like your talk, but not on the "other person" thing... that's kinda sour graping.
Say your cardiologist badmouths a witch doctor or snake oil salesman. Sour graping?
