The difference between Distorted Reverberation Ensamble and normal Reverberation Ensemble is either that: 1. The Ensamble are elated at the new heights they reached; 2. This is no longer their theme, but ours. This theme symbolises Librarians finally fighting for a good cause as heroes which is why it's so upbeat and features guitar since guitar in Library of Ruina either means heroic or badass/terrifying

the description for the guitar all fitting Gebura too, a badass hero who is a terrifying foe to fight against, who's theme is primarily the guitar too, so that could be accurate.
There is also how in this moment, not only re the reverberation ensemble buffed, but so are the librarians basking in the same kind of power, which is also why we fight them in groups now rather than individually. because even though the ensemble became visually powerful, the fact we can fight against them toe to toe now is because of that spring of power affecting us aswell.

The reason why the "distorted" theme is more upbeat is because the group thought that they reached new heights of enlightenment with their new (distorted) form and power.

Which they're probably wrong about, because the Distorted fight is way easier than the normal ones

@@SamForShort the technically ARE ztronger, but i dont think it would be fair to fight the ensemble being EVEN stronger with all of their already hard mechanics on their own being put together into an even harder fight, it would be just unfair and awfully designed, but taking into account how long roland fights normal argalia (about 20-30 minutes) to how long he fights distorted argalia for (7 DAYS AND 7 NIGHTS STRAIGHT) they ARE way stronger.

The reason it's so hopeful and upbeat is because this is more of YOUR theme against the Ensemble than anything.
You don't exactly play as the good guys in this game, but this is one of the few moments where you actually feel like a hero, because you are finally putting down that group of villains for good.

Well, a quick note about "Distorted" in Project Moon: if an individual's emotion, trauma, and desire all pass a certain threshold, they can find themselves faced with a decision, a chance for them to strengthen their will. If they succeed, they manifest powerful tools called EGO. If they fail, and submit to the desires and emotions however, they 'Distort' and become monsters or twisted versions of their desires and thoughts.
The Reverberation Ensemble WANTED to distort themselves further.

Mentioning guitar, Gebura's theme might be perfect to present the "solo" part of it)

A few comments suggested that this version of the ensemble themes are more reflective of the library's point of view, but that's not exactly correct.
As you probably already know, the ensemble members all represent a particular orchestral instrument, with Argalia being the conductor of the band, but in both version of the reverb ensemble themes, distorted and the normal ones, there's an electic guitar present as well. In the normal one, its very subtle and very hard to hear, although easier to notice in Argalia's theme, whereas in the distorted versions, the electric guitar becomes far more prominent, to the point that in the latter half of Briah and almost the entirety of Atziluth, the Electric guitar is the leading instrument.
Interestingly, none of the ensemble members are representative of an electric guitar, but the guitar actually does represent a character by the name of Carmen.
Distortion in the world of PM is essentially a process in which a person completely gives into their own ego to live solely for their own personal interests, manifested in the form of physical transformation. The goal of the reverberation ensemble was to basically distort the entire world and make everyone "realize their true selves" so to say. They are followers of someone named Carmen, who acts as a catalyst for distorting. For context, the ensemble members were all partially distorted before this fight, which is why in the normal versions of the theme song, there was a major theme of emotional confliction and turmoil that is seldom present in the distorted ensemble versions, because here they have completely distorted and reached that sort of "ascendant" state of being, hence the incredibly dramatic shift in tone to a more celebratory and extremely triumphant sound compared to before, as well as the electric guitar distortion, Carmen's voice, become easier to hear and far stronger than before.
On a related note, the librarians and the ensemble members are direct foil to each other in narrative and characters ideologies, with roland being a foil to the conductor, argalia.
Angela, the director of the library foils Carmen.
