@bimbiman8495 Yeah. And 20 for Gale is so low... how did he not leave already? Or he's just really morally corruptible. Like there's only a 20% difference between him and Astarion or Laezel 😆
@@serrasedai honestly I'm just happy knowing he's not the ride or die like the other 3. But that aside, yeah he's more corruptible than karlach considering he can potentially stay even after raiding the grove (though he did hate you and himself for that). I think ultimately he's a tad too loyal to someone who shows him scrap of kindness (after all whether you're good or evil tav/durge, you did save him multiple times). Or maybe he's an idiot who still believe there's a good in someone who's as evil as (evil)durge 😅
@@serrasedai Only companions that have spared Isobel with you get dialogue here. So not only are they very likely to be your partner in act 3, but they've seen you fight your Urges before so they're holding out hope that there's some good in you still. It's much harder to turn on the one you love. Which is why I do wish some platonic companions would up and leave here, too, with different approval thresholds
That's interesting, because I never realised certain companions could turn against you in this scene. I imagine if Minthara and Halsin had this scene, Halsin would require high approval, and Minthara would be ride-or-die. Your durge also reminds me of mine, as they both have the same face and hair.
Karlach is quick to turn on the player in chapter 1. Doesn't take much at all. It is surprising to me that she would go against her own ideals here. She will turn on a non-Durge player over a lot less (a course of action resulting in the grove getting raided). Lae'zel's reaction is surprising. Rest as expected.
@ mm, i think that’s probably because she has spend a lot of time with us (as it took quite a while until we reach act 3), and we know karlach is the loyal type. The only time she went against us is during the raid grove, and even then she will still defend you against the druid before leaving. Speaking of, I am now curious about her reaction if evil tav let marcus kidnapped isobel. I only know her reaction towards durge, as I haven’t play a tav 😅 *idk if raiding the grove can be considered as “not much” though.
First off, the whole idea that leaving means an instant death sentence is a common misconception. The Absolute's reach isn't infinite. The Camp is supposed to be far away enough from the cult to be safe from its projection. Multiple times, you can tell tadpoled characters like the Duke or the Exile to "meet you at camp." Shadowheart is also left alone without the artifact if you cross an Act 1 checkpoint without her in your party. None of them transform by doing so. Secondly, Minsc may be tadpoled, but Jaheira is not.
@@Lardo137 i think it's more game mechanic purpose. Otherwise you have to do escort mission for those NPCs 😂 But narrative wise, the threat of falling into mind control is there. Wyll's reaction is totally in character. You've embraced pure evil, there is nothing good about Bhaal at all. He shows nuance in saying that he will mourn who you were, but he can't stand by and let Durge continue any more. If anything, having him make such a strong moral stand on this by not siding with you regardless of approval is showing the depth of his character. All your arguments to defend Wyll’s blandness as a character is that he is a hero. Do you people even understand what “depth” means? smh. Fact is, in terms of character development, Wyll is still dead last.
Wyll being always, Karlach being a 40 limit, and Gale being a 20 limit really shows their respective moral lines.
I wish they make it higher for both of them. Even 40 approval for karlach is laughably easy to achieve.
