Congrats to Mandalay and all the contributors & winners. Mandalay, I loved how you took a very old art form and made something so modern. You are truly an artist and show how artists in the world take inspiration and then make very new, beautiful and though-provoking pieces. Thanks for sharing.
The Fuller Craft Museum in Brockton Ma has an inccredible array of jewelry by many visual artists. Blows my mind how exquistie and vastly diverse all the pieces are.
That month, there was one day we were trapped inside due to wildfire smoke and I got my whole family to participate in the dare. In the spirit of trying new materials, my niece selected masking tape from the junk drawer as my medium. I attempted to form an unfurling datura flower with it, and came up with a fairly satisfying result, though it was quickly used as a cat toy by the aforementioned kiddo. 😆😭 Glad we at least got a few photos to remember that day.
Oh wow, I love the idea of a family art dare, that's so much fun! Sorry to hear your hard work was spirited away by cat and kid, but overall sounds like a great experience! -Lauryn, Art Prof Teaching Artist
Like Dr Clara, I don''t wear a lot of jewelry except for brooches. I love them because they don't get in the way. I also collect old rhinestone brooches. I missed this art dare... : (
well, oct challenge might be the kick in the pants i need to get an old idea out of my head and just do it. bought a block of air dry clay i wanted to sculpt onto a wood board and paint for a 3-d effect some time ago and have just been mulling over the idea ever since.

I'm curious how one enters the Art Dares? Is this a membership only thing?
Anyone can enter! You can submit via the discord or a submission form on the website
