for the first time it's not 12 minutes of gameplay just to get to the choice ...and it's also not 5 seconds of gameplay after the choice. It's about 2 minutes, but it's usually about 5 seconds of it after the choice
If you refuse it's going to change your relationship with jack in episode 5 which might make he thinks that you didn't want to give them the sword cause the sword is worth it to let jack fall to his death so I rather give them the sword.
It's an educated guess. Also if you chose to refuse to trade the sword the "Your story is changing" thing will pop up but if you traded it that "Your story is changing" thing won't pop up, so it's obvious that you are going to have some problems with jack in episode 5.
