The thing that always trips me up is when the anchor point (ex. the cat's butt) is moving, like if the character has a bouncy walk - even worse if it's irregular motion. It's so hard to tell how that affects the wave's motion, let alone how to transition those jerky bits into the wave!
It's amazing how simple things like this can exponentially improve your animation.

can you use this on hair? I have a hard time animation hair. especially the ones with the fancy bends at the end of the hair.
