    If you know the history of 8 bit games, your imagination immediately turns to what could be on Sunsoft volume two.

      I stayed up really late playing a PS4/PS5 game (Yakuza: Like a Dragon) and I'm pretty sure the only reason my party survived is that I went into C64 mode.
      We won :)

    I have to say I really appreciate how quickly you get these videos out. They just announced these new carts and you have already have good thoughts to share along with extended gameplay footage to help us see what these games are really about. Thanks Crazy Burger. We appreciate it.
    As for the games, Blaster Master was a favorite of mine as a kid and with save states should be much more beatable as losing your power shot is frustrating. I kind of wish they went with Zero the Kamikaze Squirrel over Aero. As you say Aero is a bit awkward to play and they fixed so many of those issues with Zero. But speaking of missed games, it's a little shame that so many of Sunsoft's games were based off licensed properties. NES Batman, Genesis Batman and the Gremlins games are just a few examples of some of the really good games I can't imagine we'll see.

      Interesting.. I probably know more Sunsoft games than I realised. Just not a name that jumped out at me, not having a nes probably didn't help!

      Ooohhhhh Blaster Master...
      One of the first games I/We ever had when my folks got us a NES in 1989.
      Still never beat it, but Heck Yeah!

    I felt disgusted by some comments noticed around the internet about this collection...most people don't know history of gaming at all!
    I don't know any reason why some people have to complain about this compilation...it seems like if it features just "Aero the Acrobat" game, but no (luckily)!
    Well, games like "Journey To Silius", "Blaster Master" and its Game Boy counterpart, "Mr.Gimmick" and "Arabian" are real hidden gems and just not "well dressed crap" like some other games we got on Evercade. These games are true pieces of history of a great company called Sunsoft: there's "Aero the Acrobat" too? Well, who cares about that?! At the end we got 5 great games on a total of 6, 5 real hidden gems (especially "Mr.Gimmick" that's one of most ridicously expensive games on the nowadays' market) and just one questionable platform game (and that at the end it's less worse than some people may think).
    I'm so glad about Sunsoft's comeback. They deserved to come back.
    I own the original cartridge of "Journey to Silius" and that's one of my most beloved games on the NES. I hope that one day someone at Blaze will focus more on great abandoned companies like Imagic (...mmmh, it could be a bit hard since today it's owned by Activision) and Compile (..."The Guardian Legend", "Aleste" and many more

    Sunsoft were known for two things: awesome music and hard games. Their best known title was probably Batman on NES which I doubt will make it onto Evercade for licensing reasons. 😢

    The number of games are definitely dropping as they know the faithful and collectors will still buy them. I'm all in so that means I will buy them regardless. I have a bloody steam deck and can play these whenever I want. But the collector in me loves the system.

    Funny you find Blaster Master Boy close to Bomberman… because it’s actually a rebranded port of the Bomberman spinoff Bomber King! Even has the same music as the NES original, known as Robo Warrior in the west.
    And Sunsoft music is famed for its excellency on the NES. Journey to Silius and Blaster Master both have top class soundtracks! Very much looking forward to this. I never finished the vast exploration of Blaster Master, save states will make the odds better…

    Only 1 of the 3 games on this I was interested in seems like fun. I remember back in the day looking at pictures of Aero and thinking it would be a fun Sonic or Ristar sort of game. Guess I didn't miss anything. Gimmick had me curious and it's not what I had imagined either. It's kinda neat the green thing looks like Megaman when jumping and explodes the same too. It looking like it's running on ice doesn't sound fun nor does pulling out my hair. Luckily Arabian seems to be as I imagined and hopefully that will be the arcade version. Arabian seems like it may be fun for those that enjoyed Retro Dodo and are a fan of early 80's arcade games.

    • @CrazyBurger
      @CrazyBurger  ปีที่แล้ว

    Its great to see Sunsoft on board and this is a really solid set of games.
    Lets not get caught up on how many games are on the cart -£3 each is no shame to play Aero The Acrobat which is an average game but for those physical 16 bit collectors the sunsoft "tax" has made collecting them truly impossible.
    It is clear that there will be some more recognisable offerings on the Sunsoft 2 cart which no doubt will come in 2024.
    Not the games i was expecting but while we wont get the film tie ins, there will be some great games from their back catalogue to enjoy

    Comparing blaster master to reknum is a wild take my man. Bold!
    Journey to Silius definitely felt like a terminator game. I’ve always loved the music in that one. Had the cartridge back in the day.
    I wonder when you have the cart in hand and you give these games a bit more of a chance, if you’ll like them better.
    They have a lot of fans for a reason. Curious how you will feel about them later on the EC proper.

    Definitely a decent little collection. It's worth it for the two Blaster master games alone. It would of been nice if they included the megadrive sequel blaster master 2. Oh well. I'm definitely looking forward to try aero the acrobat the most. One of those games I've always heard of but never played. Sucks about the licensing issues because the two NES batman games could of a nice inclusion.

    This collection looks ok. It’s not amazing but not bad either. If we get a Sunsoft Collection 2 then I would really like to see Sunsoft Grand Prix which was released on the original Game Boy in 1992 and Project S-11 which was only released in the USA on the Game Boy Color in very early 2001.

    There's a great version of Arabian on the C64 called "Tales of the Arabian Nights" with speech! :-) Yes, the couple of games on Switch Online are ok but the remake Master Blaster Zero on the Switch Store is the better version. I agree that the Sunsoft Collection looks quite weak in the value for money stakes but I guess having the two NES games from Switch Online may be quite a draw for some long time NES fans. Keep up the awesome work!

    Yeah, it is too bad they did not try to squeeze Aero the Acrobat 2 or Zero the Kamikaze Squirrel in there too, but at the same time I think the three NES games on here are hard, but really, really good once you get in enough time with them.

    Correction. Aero the acrobat IS terrible. I really dislike the game, I'd rather play Bubsy or Power piggs.

    • @CrazyBurger
      @CrazyBurger  ปีที่แล้ว

      Lol its just a bit awkward to play

  • @obsoleteworlds
    @obsoleteworlds ปีที่แล้ว

    Aero is the exact level of inoffensive platform dross we've come to expect from Blaze's licensing budget. File alongside Radical Rex, Prehistorik Man etc. Is Bubsy next?
    Moving on to the more important point though, this cart really does show how they are reducing the number of games while hyping up"more cartridges than ever". When they said, "we've now shown you 4 cartridges and 24 games!" it just served to remind me that most of the games that debuted with the system had 10-20 on a single cart. These were must buys because of the sheer value. I think people are going to start picking and choosing more if 4-6 becomes the new norm.
    Don't get me wrong, Sunsoft is a good get. A lot of westerners got into them on the Wii VC but I think Aero was again the wrong choice for the cover because most Americans I know think way more fondly of Blaster Master.

    • @CrazyBurger
      @CrazyBurger  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've no doubt for some this will be seen as good value since these games sell for silly amounts physically but for the average person that has no interest in that, it would seem poor value.

    • @genejoke8538
      @genejoke8538 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Reminds me of the interplay collections, but I don't consider it poor value, I don't think any of the Evercade carts are, even worms. Cheaper than an evening down the pub or at the cinema. Hell cheaper than a pack of fags and a four pack.
