I love your channel! I take a set of sheets and fold everything minus one pillowcase from the set. After everything is folded, I put all of the items inside of the remaining pillowcase and fold that over to fit around the rest so I can grab the whole set at one time and I don't have to search for everything. I also have wine racks hanging on my walls in the bathroom and I have extra towels rolled and placed in each spot that the bottle of wine would normally be in.

^^ This!! Fold up everything and tuck it all in one of the pillowcases. I even keep my sheets in under the bed storage bins to keep them nearby when I need them. (Plus, if I get lazy on the day I wash them, they're out of sight out of mind, lol).
Oh, and use those extra, mismatched pillowcases to clean ceiling fan blades instead of decluttering them!

I used to work in housekeeping at a hotel. We used to fold our sheet sets and package them they way you just did. Not only is it the easiest cleanest way to do it. It just makes sense. You don't know how many times I have considered creating a TH-cam channel just to show how to fold a sheet set properly. Every linen organization I have seen they fold in a weird way. So thank you for showing the best way... finally someone 🙌 👏

LOL! My mothers linen closet looked just like yours!!! EVERY time I would go visit, she asked me to fold her sheets and towels and make her closet pretty. Now that she is gone, I do miss those visits. I taught my older sisters how to fold the sheets and keep sets together on those trips, too. Good job! Now you have a skill! I have trimmed my sheet setsdownto two cotton sets for summer and two flannel sets for winter.

The first part of folding the spa towel hit me with serious nostalgia as it is the first step to folding notebook paper (for those of you old enough to remember that stuff) to end up with a note to pass to friends in between classes. You know, back in the dark dim past before cell phones&texting 😂 Anyway, loved this as my linen closet is like yours was-nice until you needed something. Will be redoing it this way and love the pillowcase in basket thing, too, as I use extra pillows for chronic pain both sitting and sleeping so I have loads extra. Am anticipating the pure delight at seeing them all orderly in a basket🧺 Happy early birthday and yes, after 30 it all kind of blends for sure!

I juast did all my sweaters and shirts in my dresser using the method you suggested with your kids clothes. Now I can see everything I have in my drawers so simply. I have been using the method of picking my clothes the night before and laying them out because before I did this I would simply waste time staring into my closets and drawers after being showered. I just could not make a decision that early in the morning. I love the new drawers and like you I feel joy when I open my drawers and see how neat they are. It is also encouraging me to get rid of some of my sweaters and shirts because I have waaaaaay more than I need.
Kalli, really sympathize with your need to escape for a bit of piece and quiet when you have young children. I remember days when I would I drive to a parking lot and just to sit in the sun and quiet for maybe 15 minutes while my husband watch my son. It felt amazing. Blessing and prayers for you and your family.

I'm 64 years old, married 40 years, not a newbie when it comes to home stuff. Still, I worked myself into such a state trying to fold fitted sheets this morning that I LITERALLY cried in frustration. My husband said I shouldn't waste a beautiful day in the linen closet and he insisted we take the dog to the park. Of course I came back and got right to it. I can't say I'm an expert, but the results are okay, for now. After a frustrating day, your video made me chuckle. Thank you.

Nice method for storing linens. After my kids left home, I made the decision to just have one set of sheets per bed. They go directly from the dryer back to the bed, so no folding or storing required. I do use the spa towel method for extra towels.

You can use unmatching pillow cases for a million uses. I put draw strings in the top and used them as mini clothes hampers for kids. I hung them inside their bedroom closet or on the side of a dresser and they learned to put the dirty clothes in them. A lot of other uses.

Great instructions, I wish I had a larger linen closet, so I just wash the same set of sheets every week and put them back on. Lol. There is a spare set in the closet. My grandmother was a laundress when she came to the US from Sweden and taught me everything about washing, ironing and folding. Her linen closet was amazing and the scent of freshness always lingered there.

Love this! The spa towel fold is new to me. Can't wait to do it. I've kept my sheet sets together in a similar way, but instead of the sheet pocket, I use one of the 2 pillow cases to be my "envelope" to hold them all together. It's so great to have something set up that is easy to maintain. Thank you for sharing!

As most comments, I store my linen set inside one of the pillow cases….makes it so much easier to keep organized and tidy. I lay my fitted sheets out on the bed, fit two corners inside the opposite corners, fold in half and then again like you until I have a neat rectangle. I put both folded sheets and one case inside the second pillow case and fold over to make a neat/complete bedding package. I’m pretty obsessive about the rounded folded edges of sheet bundles and towels facing out. I also save pretty gift boxes and baskets to hold the random things that clutter a closet(night lights, travel cosmetics, etc) I open my closet door and it looks like a linen shop. My husband calls my passion for organizing closets “playing house.”

This is exactly how I fold and store sheets and beach towels. I was lucky to have my grandma show me how to fold fitted sheets as a teen.
A linen closet is the only thing, besides bedroom closets, which came with our house. No pantry, no bathroom cabinets. We have added a lot of storage, because I like to have everything put away. Visual clutter makes me anxious.

Love a good follow up video.

I came across the same fitted sheet folding method about two years ago, and wow - life changing! I gleefully went about refolding every fitted sheet in the house and just that alone made our linen cupboard look so much better! The sheets stack better and end up being easier to take out when needed. I fold mine a bit flatter and wider, but I might try your method and see if that’s better. Thanks for the video, definitely trying the spa towel rolls!

I have 3 sets of sheets, full, twin and queen. I have extra pillow cases too. Your idea is putting them in a basket was inspiring to me. I have a much larger linen closet( have to). I put queen on top shelf, full on next shelf and twin on the bottom shelf. Except I do one other thing; I put my sheets in one pillow case and keep them organized in that fashion. The beach towels, I do the same thing. I roll them and place on a laid out new shower curtain (basically on the floor) along with the pads that I must use. I am a paraplegic and it’s just easier for me to fold them the way that you did too. My compliments to you learning how to fold a fitted sheet!

I fold my fitted sheet similarly. Though, sometimes it comes out wonky. I fold sheet and pillow case, using the second one, if the queen bed, to keep together. I do not have a linen closet, but I do have a hope chest my mom made me as a baby that was my toy box. I keep bedding in there. It is also good to strip the bed and put all linens in one of the pillowcases. It keeps sheets together in the laundry pile and they go into the wash in 1 load, all together!

I dig sassy Kallie. We change our pillow cases almost every night so I have 3 sets of sheets for the household, but probably 20 pillow cases. I will be implementing the basket!

I put my sets of bed linens in one of the pillow cases and bIblove that even if I don’t fold them perfectly, they still look so neat. But your towel folding hint is going to really make my life with my gazillion large bath sheets and beach towels so much easier. Thank you

I do something similar with my sheets. The only difference is I package the fitted, flat and pillowcase inside the second pillowcase and that keeps the items stacked in the closet and easy to pull out when I pull sheets out. Love your videos! Have a great Sunday.

Love this, great demo! 👏👏Packaging the sheets together is brilliant. Love the opening banter. I think I could watch you demo anything, you're such a joy to watch. Your positivity, humour, willingness to laugh at yourself, and enthusiasm are contagious. So thanks for that gift to all of us followers. Not to mention your practical tips, hacks, mom advice, and gift guides are awesome!

I don't have a linen closet. My coffee table in the living room is a huge trunk. So I keep all my bedding in there. Most of which are quilts made by my mom and grandmother. It's so nice to have comfy blankets handy in the winter for cuddling on the couch too.

I loved watching this and learning how you do yours, but I know full well I will jumble up my fitted sheets and give em the old chuck-a chuck-a to the top of my linen closet where I will disguise the mess with some neatly folded towels in front of the sheet-balls.

I have a smaller linen closet, but a nice walk in master closet in my Florida condo. Since I have several larger pool towels, that are bulky, I hang them from a hanger and put at the end of the rack. You have to fold in half to fit through the center bar of the hanger, but they take up very little space in the closet. I also hang tablecloths/table runners on a hanger and put in the guest room closet.

Happy birthday 🎉! I started to use my mum's way which is a mix of folding everything and then putting all of the bed set in one of the pillowcases. I don't use top sheets as we have duvets and duvet covers but I still wanted it all together. I think I might use a bigger version of those baskets to put the pillow case bedding packages in or maybe plastic tubs with lids so I can stack them and separate the different sizes as I don't have loads of shelves just one. I really like your way of folding towels

I fold my sheets the same util I have the last rectangle. Then instead of folding the up, I start at one end and roll them all up. This worked good for me too. Love your channel!

I love your sense of humor too. Keep up the great work. 🥰 I always laugh when I see someone trying to find a fitted sheet. Usually you just want to wad it up and throw it in the corner. Since retiring we don't need to keep extra sets of sheets, but I enjoyed this video and watched it all.

Kallie 😂 this was honestly one of my favorite videos! Your intro was fabulous and hey, I learned how to Spa-roll my towels! They’re going to feel so fancy now🤩 I do not have a linen closet, but I do have a space in my closet designated for bath towels etc. Watching you fold the fitted sheet reminded me of a flight attendant doing a safety demo 🤣 It was absolutely perfect! Thanks for everything you bring to TH-cam! 🥰

First we're birthday month buddies so happy birthday to you ❤ also, a hack I've learned is that when you put fitted sheets with their pillow covers, i put one pillow case in the sheet and then fold the sheet and pillow case and put it inside of the other pillow case. It looks more organized and if any time any one falls (usually with my kids), the fold doesnt open. 👌

I've been folding my sheets this way for a long time, but that's the first time I've seen that towel trick. I just tried it with my sheet sets though and it works great! Just roll the fitted sheet and pillow cases inside the flat sheet with the triangular end, and you get a nice, tight sheet package just like the towels.

I'll try that fitted sheet fold. I've also been trying to roll my towels, but not using the "spa roll," so they haven't stayed as nice. Here's my questions thought: what do you do with a bunch of differently sized blankets of varying bulkiness? Also, how can you keep straight sheet sets for different sizes of beds? We have a twin, a split king, and a full in this house. (I admit that we also still have some queen sets that we use on the full.)

  • @juliebruce1114

Thank you for the tutorial on folding sheets. I found a method years ago that makes it extremely easy. Fold the fitted sheet however you want, but not wider than the pillowcases. Fold the flat sheet to pretty much fit the size of the fitted sheet. Fold all but one pillowcase to also match the size of the fitted sheet (or smaller it really doesn’t matter). Then take that “pack” of sheets and slide them in to the pillowcase that you have left. And then fold the pillowcase over in half and you have a neat little package to put into your linen closet or on the shelf.

I had a linen closet in our previous house, and it had anything but linens in it. The shelves were really small and even if I rolled the sheets or towels they would not fit! So that's where we kept homeless things we had no other spot for, or things like batteries because we didn't want to have to go downstairs to find some if needed (yes, we also had some downstairs). That closet was a "convenience closet" and it was fine.

You did a really good job with that fitted sheet. I learned it slightly differently- folding two corners together instead of all 4, and then laying it down to straighten out and fold like you would a regular sheet. I might switch it up, though, and tey your method to see if it's any faster.

I learned how to fold a fitted sheet watching an older lady at the laundromat about 35 years ago. A flat surface is a necessity lol
My current home does not have linen storage, so I am using a portion of my master closet for that - which I really do not need as big of a closet as I have, so it works.
After watching your video about reducing your wardrobe, I am looking at my own and know I need to scale it back to only the things I really love/use. My jewelry is going to be hard...
Thanks for all the good content you put out!

Lol. My mom didn't teach me much about cleaning or cooking but dang it she did teach me how to fold a fitted sheet.
I have found that if I'm folding a king size sheet, it helps to lay it on the bed to get the corners together. That's a LOT of fabric to work with when you have short arms.
I am so stealing the towel idea. love it.

I like to use my pillow cases as my storage containers. I fold my top sheet and fitted sheet and single pillowcase and put it into the matching pillow case. Instantly contained. I definitely want to try the spa towel full though. I do roll my towels but I didn't know about the corner tuck so that will be awesome to implement.

You are so cute and as a 60 year old I too finally looked on TH-cam to see how to fold sheets that aren’t a jumbled mess. Besides of course putting them back on the bed! This necessity comes from starting a short term rental in the very near future and I might get stuck folding sheets! LOL. Thanks for your videos.

I did my linen closet last fall. Of course, the first priority was clearing out stuff that I didn't need there... or anywhere else in the house either. Bath towels and hand towels are rolled up and put in a fabric bin with folded washcloths. The one extra set of sheets I have is folded up and put inside one of the pillow cases. I keep extra toilet paper in that closet so those go in another fabric bin. When I was done, I ended up with one empty shelf. Miracle! And I used to be able to fold a fitted sheet reasonably well, but then they started putting the elastic all the way around instead of just the top and bottom. Ugh! Fortunately The Mate is pretty good at it and he has longer arms than I do so he takes care of that little chore for me.
