Alright, best bet is to just make your base (thats attached to the land) over the water like you said, but just make a huge platform (you can make it smaller later if you want) But lay out all your stuff, and organize it, four corners style maybe, one corner could be farm stuff, another could be crafting, another could be... your building blocks, Ect, but just have everything laid you, and maybe recolor them all, or give specific colors to specific things, Farming could be red, crafting could be blue, ect ect and i was bored so here is how i would do it just for organizing as to start out until you get a solid base down. *Colors* Crafting - Blue Farming - Red Building - Black Base - Green Storage - White (you're gonna need it trust me) ---- *Where on the base to place them for easier building till you get a good base idea* -Farthest to the back in right corner should be farming - soil, blocks ect needed -Farthest to the back left corner (if you have the space) is your crafting stuff -Building blocks or things you'd use later, Maybe somewhere in the "Center" (or the best you can get to it) of the base -Blocks needed specifically for the base, near the front left, -And temporary, or maybe even later permanent storage, front right Again these are for chest and other things placement for organization but this is just my idea as to how would be the best way to organize it
I have a couple suggestions for the base. A drawbridge would be a good addition, and do not forget a wall around your actual base in case greenies get too curious. Some sort of automatic turret would also be helpful on the corners of the peninsula too. Having a main gate to get to your base could be a good idea, with defenses in place (bouncy castle, extending saw blades/drills, the auto turret I suggested before, etc.)
I love how ScrapMan’s journey to the new location is a lot like his story so far. The start of the journey when he found out he could just have both engines working at the same time, that represented how he learnt how the new game mechanics worked. The hill represented the warehouses and the first boss fight and how he struggled and worried but still made it. The down hill represented how fast he had learnt and gathered all of his incredible stuff and finally the end represented how he got to this point with all of the spud guns, his bots and everything else. A little extra is how many times he questioned his fuel consumption, that represents how much he wonders about the fuel.
Scapman doesn't realize that he could've just added wheels to the long line of boxes and dragged the entire thing behind the truck using a piston or something

You could even make just a 1 block thick wall instead of the 3-4 block you had around the crops, since that's a defence that almost doesn't matter compared to the rest of what you have. Just the platform around the farm, external walls and the bouncy stuff should be enough to protect your base. It'll save a lot of material that you could use to make a platform to make your base extending to the water
Scrapman, i found a way more effective mechanism for your defensive floor. Put two oposing pistons facing each other vertically and weld them together. Attach the floor to the block both pistons are facing. Make sure they both are lvl5 at maximum speed and range of 1. Just turn them both on. If im correct, all bots should die in seconds.
Ever think about putting the crusher on top of the bounce system, make a bot sandwich. There is also other ways to crush mobs, it doesn't have to be a vertical with pistons. You can also pull mobs with a bearing and crush them into the wall. The whole concept of the crusher is to force their size smaller.

Best location for base is down the road, behind workshop. When u get to two little houses turn left n find sandy area with rocks. Look for a big high rock with tree on top of it. When tree is on top it means there is ground n u can place soil.. perfect protection against bots n u can build base on top of it.. I wrote this on last vid. u were next to that rock n its between trader n packing station.

Look for a big high rock with a tree ontop of it. When the tree is ontop, it means there is ground and you can plant/place some soil. You were next to that rock and its between the trader and packing station Also, stop saying u and n. It's kinda bad to look at especially when together.

Well since your going to be living on the ocean an oil is going to be a automatize resource, you should build an oil platform and use the red radio tower legs found on the roof of warehouses as the legs to hold it up from the ocean floor. It'll look cool Scrapman.

Scrapman, if you see this you need a sawing vehicle if you plan on collecting wood. The big trees give much more wood, and its all already lvl 1 wood. Its really nice for me too, especially in the early stages of the game

For the Totebot heads, if you don't want them, you can pick them up and then drag and drop them out of your inventory to drop them as an item and they will despawn.

Tip for carrying large things that don't go in your inventory: right click to drop it in the air instead of left clicking to place it. Then you can carry it on your lift without anything reducing your speed.
I think my only suggestion for building the base over the ocean is that, assuming you are able to build underwater, it might be beneficial to have the base anchored with an underwater pillar, in addition to a bridge, since it would probably help keep the base from sagging too much.

Wait if a chest is on a few blocks, can you keep the color of the chest if you put entire piece on a lift with the chest attached? that way if you weld the colored chest piece to your vehicle you are essentially lifting the chest without actually lifting it alone?? TRY THAT! LIKE SO SCRAPMAN CAN SEE!!!
instead of using a timer to time your water system, just have it go back and forth along a track that has a bloc painted every 3 blocks and a sensor of the same color that triggers the water cannons only when they are directly above the plot of land that need hydration.
I mean, you simply could have removed the lowest layer of your building and move it with the lift once it's disconnected from the bottom. That's how I moved my entire farm the other day - and yes, I rebuild a lot of stuff anyway to make it better, but atleast it gives you a headstart on the new location and doesn't leave you hanging with nothing :D - also gets rid of the need of thousand of chests for your lamps and sawblades if they are still attached to the building.
You should have disassembled the water system at the ends so you can grab it on a Lift. Then physically WALK with the lift and the water system over to your new base on a full stomach. If you can make it on foot, you'd save time rebuilding it all over. Its a long shot but maybe =)
Scrapman, make the ultimate car which has storage, drills and water-pumper(For extra thrust), an extra refiner, crafter bot, guns, lights and 10 wheels (5 on each sides). Make it like width of 2. So it should be around the ratio of 20:5:2. Put all of your storage on the back. Make a truck-like front for driver protection and lighting. Also, I think you should play Terratech. It's a fun, open-world, sandbox game. kinda like Scrapmechanic and Trailmakers except, you are a car.... i would suggest checking it out. It'll give more ideas and contents and ways to think!! Also, use the heads and stuffs as your side and front armour of your ultimate car. Also also, make ANOTHER vehicle inside that ultimate vehicle, so that when in need, you can just use that one. Scrapman you can use glowworm as water engine. Put a glow worm in a 3×3 box then put cardboard out side it will move the box with itself. (Weight does matter )
Hey scrapman I really enjoy these videos I wish I had an infinite supply of them, also if you need some help with the encrypter you need to use explosives on a certain wall in the rooms with the yellow and blue signs then you should be able to grab stuff I saw someone do this and idk if it works srry if it doesn't
You should have your garage over the water but off to the side with a drawbridge connecting to the mainland. That way, you have a place to store your vehicles during a raid.
Since you want to build over water build an scrap industrial dock with wooden floors and metal factories and each one of them serves a specific purpose

Should make your base out in the water a little bit and have a draw bridge for it so bots cant just tear it up. Plus it will look really cool
Wait if a chest is on a few blocks, can you keep the color of the chest if you put entire piece on a lift with the chest attached? that way if you weld the colored chest piece to your vehicle you are essentially lifting the chest without actually lifting it alone?? TRY THAT! LIKE SO SCRAPMAN CAN SEE!!!

I got real emotional when he was giving the speech about the farm and the mechanic station
instead of using a timer to time your water system, just have it go back and forth along a track that has a bloc painted every 3 blocks and a sensor of the same color that triggers the water cannons only when they are directly above the plot of land that need hydration.

I mean, you simply could have removed the lowest layer of your building and move it with the lift once it's disconnected from the bottom. That's how I moved my entire farm the other day - and yes, I rebuild a lot of stuff anyway to make it better, but atleast it gives you a headstart on the new location and doesn't leave you hanging with nothing :D - also gets rid of the need of thousand of chests for your lamps and sawblades if they are still attached to the building.
Perhaps you could try to anchor your base to the bottom of the sea as well?

You should have disassembled the water system at the ends so you can grab it on a Lift. Then physically WALK with the lift and the water system over to your new base on a full stomach. If you can make it on foot, you'd save time rebuilding it all over. Its a long shot but maybe =)
This is why we call in friends to help us move. kAn, Durf, et al, could have joined and driven each vehicle over while you loaded them, for example
Scrapman, make the ultimate car which has storage, drills and water-pumper(For extra thrust), an extra refiner, crafter bot, guns, lights and 10 wheels (5 on each sides). Make it like width of 2. So it should be around the ratio of 20:5:2. Put all of your storage on the back. Make a truck-like front for driver protection and lighting. Also, I think you should play Terratech. It's a fun, open-world, sandbox game. kinda like Scrapmechanic and Trailmakers except, you are a car.... i would suggest checking it out. It'll give more ideas and contents and ways to think!!
Also, use the heads and stuffs as your side and front armour of your ultimate car. Also also, make ANOTHER vehicle inside that ultimate vehicle, so that when in need, you can just use that one. The extra should and must have lights, 1 gun, 3 storage. A buggy-like vehicle is recommended.

I know im late to the party.... But i would probably have built a giant vehicle and used some engines from the other vehicles. And maybe make a snake like trailer system
Scrapman should make his new base an oil rig.
Scrapman you can use glowworm as water engine.
Put a glow worm in a 3×3 box then put cardboard out side it will move the box with itself. (Weight does matter )
Would love to see you build it like a big Cargo-ship had run aground, That way if you want to move, you de-anker and float away.
Hey scrapman I really enjoy these videos I wish I had an infinite supply of them, also if you need some help with the encrypter you need to use explosives on a certain wall in the rooms with the yellow and blue signs then you should be able to grab stuff I saw someone do this and idk if it works srry if it doesn't
you should definitely have garages for each vehicle, that’d be cool!
You should have your garage over the water but off to the side with a drawbridge connecting to the mainland. That way, you have a place to store your vehicles during a raid.

If you wat to build a 2nd floor again in your new base , instead of wasting material , you should use the big plates you harvested from the shacks.
Since you want to build over water build an scrap industrial dock with wooden floors and metal factories and each one of them serves a specific purpose
