Laura, As a retired farmer, your experiences on your farm make my day. I grew up on a diversified farm in Central Indiana. We had hogs, cattle, corn, beans and wheat. I was pressed into service at a young age. I learned to operate farm equipment safely, although not without the usual rookie mistakes. Seeing your video today on dumping beans on the cab of the truck, I was reminded of the time (harvest 1969) that I enjoyed having my future wife ride in the combine with me. In those days, there were no buddy seats, but we made do. When she was setting on the edge of my operator's seat, she inadvertently set on the unload augur lever. We were chatting merrily away when I noticed that every bean we were harvesting was being immediately dumped on the ground. When dad came to the field with the grain truck, I had a lot of explaining to do! I'm 70 today and I don't think I have felt so stupid since. Keep up the good work! I love watching you learn. Your family's farm is in good hands with you!
Good for you and for your husband... you two are the stock that made America into the greatest country on Earth. May you have much, much success and stay safe out there young Lady!
Seeing someone this young so actively productive with her eye focused on the big picture and filled with joy while at the same time saying stuff like '...we don't have those little extender things...' is so heartwarming. LOL!
Just subscribed . You are just too lovable ! And a great producer of these farming videos ! Thank you for leaving in the mishap with the loading of the beans into the trailer, shows you are like the rest of us. Honesty is always appreciated. Your Dad is a very Blessed man indeed. Keep that beautiful smile, it lights up the world !
You have a talent for explaining what you are doing in a easy to follow way. You also don’t make yourself a know it all. You are someone special keep up the Great Job.
You are the most adorable, precious farmer on TH-cam!! The cab beans, which only looked to be a few bushels before you caught it, happens to everyone who has ever done harvest at least once. You’re good. You’re awesome!! Keep the videos coming and let that one little slip go.
HEY, WE ALL HAVE ONE OF THOSE MOMENTS, I THINK YOU DO A GREAT JOB. I WORKED ON A WHEAT FARM IN MINNESOTA, AND I DO MEAN WORKED. SO I GIVE YOU A LOT OF CREDIT FOR EVERYTHING YOU DO, AND THE WAY YOU APPROACH YOUR WORK. I LOVE TO WATCH YOU AND IT BRINGS BACK FOND MEMORIES TO ME.
If you put some bounce fabric sheets inside the equipment and inside of the trucks the mice will leave put about 4 of them in each piece of equipment. Carl
Hi Laura... Did you had to tell your Dad . you Spild some Beans out Laura... You always Got Great Smile 😺 when you are showing what you do Each day at the Farm ... God bless you and Brant and your Family😻😻😻
Your shock and awe response to the cab beans was priceless. Gotta happen at least once during harvest, you got it out of the way. Keep Calm, Keep Harvesting.
I love watching you and Grant and your your husband there and your dad's and family man you guys are what America's made you guys or what America's supposed to be like God bless you all enjoy watching your movies have a wonderful day from Mr B from Michigan
Your hilarious! Your life is very addictive, very interesting to somebody outside of your world, I appreciate not just the farm work, but all the work you do to show us your life. Thanks Laura!
Hey! Laura, hope your doing good today. I just wanted to let you know that your Dad reminds me of my Dad. My Dad did verything too. But he was a Master mechanic, a car Dealer and a race car driver when he was younger. And like your Dad he could do just about anything! Give him a Big Kiss from me, from you! I really miss him. 😢 ❤😘👍
Why am I already addicted to this channel? This is a part of my nighttime routine. Thanks, Laura, for unloading every day. That takes a lot of time and dedication.
You should hear the reception from the bin driver when you cover the roof with sugar cane coming out of the cane harvester elevator. The look on your face was priceless 😂
you tell it like it is,,,,mistakes and all,,,,we enjoy,,,,and learn....thanks for taking the extra time to set up cameras, and to tell us all the details we are nosey about. Id like to know the whole story of everything when you feel confident in telling us more,,,,best wishes
You just spilled a few beans. The door on my barn got stuck a few months so, I used my tractor bucket to assist me in lifting it. That little episode took about 15 seconds and cost me $840 for door repairs. We know the feeling!
+1! I'd like to see Cale put a flag up on top of the 100' conveyor leg with it lit up with a flood light at night and also strings of super bright LED Christmas lights on the railings too! He does have a flagpole on the ground with ole Glory flying on it.
Well Laura I guess the truth is out, you are a normal person who can make mistakes, and then laugh at yourself, love ya. As we would say in the army "only one person on this planet was ever perfect, and look what they did to him", making mistakes is human, learning from them is the mark of a true warrior. Love how you get a short clip of Grant in your videos, shows your love for him. Hope you make out well on the rest of your harvest.
What a great vid! I am glad I don't have to be that honest about my screwups farming! If that was me there would be a glaring blank spot on that vid, cough... Woohoo, you are almost there! Just a few more weeks of harvest then it's off to the shop to get the machinery ready for next year! Great job Laura Farms! I worked for my local co op and we were up on top of the 1960's fertilizer plant greasing (we just hauled tubes of grease up to the landing as there was always an old grease gun just left up there) and we always took duct tape up to re patch the layers of duct tape on the elevator legs! Somethings are the same every place. There is an old prayer I learned at our grange, it is very simple it goes "The Labors of the Day are Complete".
Time 7:00 minutes in and after being distracted by the landowner, Que the OMG in 3.. 2... 1.... Ahhhhh!!! Hahahaha!!! I Don't want to talk about it! Hahaha!!! That was Priceless Laura! Loved it, totally normal to make a blooper and great for gag reels. With that said definitely a learning experiance. Definitely need to have your head on swivel and mind focused on your equipment before pushing buttons. We are all humane and spill the beans sometimes. Be safe and you Go Girl!
That is a rule for us at work after running the front end load hard is to let it sit and idle for a minimum of 10 minutes before shutting down the engine to allow the hydro oil in the transmission and the engine turbo charger and exhaust to circulate through the oil coolers and cool down. If you just shut it off while it's still red hot from working it can burn the oil from the trapped heat inside of the engine compartment.
So what's the fix? Battery powered shop-vac to pick things up, or just left for birds and mice? It looked like a lot, but maybe it was just a bushel or two. I LOVE these videos. (not when things go wrong, but in general like seeing sausage being made.)
If you haven’t spilled beans or corn, you’ve never farmed. I laughed just a little, and hope the truck windows were rolled up. Thanks for sharing your families adventures and hard work. Keep feeding America.
Laura, in Germany we always say that if you haven't made any mistakes, you've never worked! Still, I found it very funny 🤗😂! Sunny greetings from Bocholt (D)
Your channel is impressive. You share what is taking place on the farm. I appreciate the little mishaps that happen because they do happen from time to time. The important thing is to be alert, even when you get tired. I worked for a number of uncles on their farms during the summer over the years when I was a university student. I was fortunate that no serious mishaps occurred. I made sure that I listened to others and their experiences. I do not need to repeat silly mistakes and you have the same attitude. One uncle seemed to have more confidence in me than I had in myself. That was inspiring. He once told me that I could change a lower rad hose on his tractor. (. . . It was a red tractor, sorry.) He bought the part and he gave it to me and he said, "You can fix that." I did, and I will add, "I was one of those city slickers." You amaze me with your enthusiasm and the way you "bite you tongue" at times when you need to. You work with people well. Thank you to both you and Grant for taking the time to video your farm activities. 😊
What was missing after the spill were the expletives. And that, my dear is why I watch this channel. Keep up the good wholesome work. There are those of us who seek good clean content.
Mistakes happen. It will be ok nothing you can't clean up and salvage what you can. Just stay calm and relax be more cautious next time. You got this!!!! Congrats to Grant for getting his done and helping his dad with his. Keep up the good work
“Yea 510 to 501, when you said unload the grain cart did you say on the truck or in the truck? Wasn’t clear on that one over.” 😂😂 we’ve all been there!! Love the video!!
It's alright to spill some beans. I actually had to laugh because that happened to me also. So, I am not the only one. Always look at things positively. You got distracted from your routine. A great learning opportunity. And we move on. Smile, you are harvesting!!!! Yay!!!!!!!
Most people would have edited out you spilling the beans. Good for you for being real! Shit happens , we all make mistakes. You and your channel moved way up on my favorite list. Keep up the great work kids.
Bad luck with spilling the beans on top of the semi cab. These things happen, and you didn't hurt anyone or break anything. Nice shoutout to Erin at 5:15. :) 3:18 explosive atmosphere?
While working at a borraz factory years ago trains would go along the side of the factory. Needed to get bar and open a flap that dropped it out from under the train, it as really hard to open. At the turn of the century my uncle's ued to grease the air vent wheels at copper mine in Arizona, lot of people don't use enough lubricant to make stuff work.
Yeah hauled grain cart from field to grain leg years ago at night and buddy hollers on radio ya missing anything up thar. Me uh nope. Then he says well your tires down here bout a mile back. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. We hung the rim up in the shop. Mistakes happen and good reminder we’re human 😇😇😇😇🤣🤣🤣🤔🤔🤔. Enjoy harvest 21’ doing awesome
Farming has come a long way since my family own a small farm! Our air conditioning was a breeze coming thru the open window! Lol lol I was wondering if the window was down? What a surprise that driver would have got! Lol lol

I've had cab beans before but I was in a combine, not the auger cart LOL. I've never seen an auger cart driver that hasn't had a few spills. Keep up the good work!

Laura’s smile in the first seconds slowly is becoming a meme :-) For some unknown reason the yield of soybean is lower in Nevada than was expected, driving up prices. It is rumored there was some large loss somewhere…
Sitting watching this at my work desk thinking what a boring career choice I made, considering I was brought up in the Scottish country side and had plenty of farm friends, a career path in that direction never crossed my mind....can't turn back time. Love the video's!
Those that don't make mistakes Laura are people that never did anything. Sometimes they cost us more than we like but we sure do remember them lol. I unhooked a trailer week ago didn't pay attention left tailgate down and ripped the tailgate handle off with the trailer hitch. Still learning from my mistakes lol
I unhooked the trailer and forgot to unhook the electrics ... spent the next half hour reterminating the trailer's cable with the plug I should've unplugged *before* I drove away.
Well Darling, there is not a single farmer out there that has not done that. Or over ran the combine to get cab corn or beans. You are now in the club with the rest of us. Welcome to the club. LOL Do not sweat it.
“ I don’t want to talk about it.” You are wise beyond your years Laura and your dad, if he watches this video, will probably laugh aloud and tease you, but most of all, he will probably commend you for your excellent ability to control your actions. As a father of four, I can say that few things bring a bigger smile to my face than moments like this one. 👏🏻✌🏻
Just discovered your wonderful channel a week ago. I search for you and your beautiful family several times each day. I am very happy you bring true joy to me. Appreciate.

I know a guy that had the dump bed in gear on his grain truck and spread most of a load of wheat on his driveway. He wasnt very happy.
LoL, those are the mistakes you only do once. Or I'll call it a learning experience.
Dziękujemy.
That was funny Laura, no damage done. We all need those moments in our life to keep us real.
What? Laura block them from you page the can't say that.

Well done for how you handled that we don't learn unless we make mistakes as a Dad to girls, who have always helped me your are a fantastic example.
Truly appreciate the effort of getting harvest videos posted daily.

Laura If you let the tractor idle for a couple of minuets after pulling a load your exhaust manifold will cool down less chance of warping or cracking
That is a rule for us at work after running the front end load hard is to let it sit and idle for a minimum of 10 minutes before shutting down the engine to allow the hydro oil in the transmission and the engine turbo charger and exhaust to circulate through the oil coolers and cool down. That sky behind you is SUPREME laura!!!
Kelley and I have really enjoyed watching you and Grant this season !!! We have learned a lot about farming in Nebraska!!!!

Dumping a few bushels of beans on the ground is a whole lot cheaper than crashing the unloading auger into the side of the truck.
No sense in crying over spilled beans! :-)

I love harvest time. People what working hard and doing some thing, there will make mistakes in life and learn from them. It is normal
Oh, good. I'm not the only person who makes mistakes occasionally.

Appreciate.
