Loved your post! I'm taking my 8 y/o to the upcoming Kalamazoo, MI show...hoping he will be inspired to take up the violin or other instrument. We will see... 😊
I have a much older friend who is a violinist but is very old school and had no tolerance for hip hop. Yet he heard this, saw the video, and said this is the greatest violin playing he has heard in decades, and this man is a classically trained violinist and has been playing the violin since he was 5 years old, so nearly 70 years. Black Violin is now one of his favorite bands and he teaches violin classes using both classical violin and Black Violin music. He encourages his students to experiment with ALL different styles. He has downloaded a lot of Black Violin music and sometimes I can hear it blasting from the mp3 his granddaughter have him as a birthday gift last year.
I have been playing cello for 5 years now and you guys have really inspired me. I almost quit 2 years ago when things got hard, but because of you guys I persisted. So I thank you for that!

I have a similar story, I used to listen to this song years ago on repeat when I was deep in my addiction. I lost track of it but decided to see if I could find it tonight. I am a year sober things are looking up but when I listen to this song it brings me right back to that place where I was losing my mind. Still love it though, this is definition of art
There's a lot of orchestras that do a variety of music in the symphonic style, particularly heavy metal (which adapts very well-really lets you appreciate Sweet Child O' Mine without the vocals to distract). The Istanbul University State Conservatory did an enthusiastic performance of Martin Garrix's "Animals". Dido's "Here With Me" is beautiful anyways, & truly gorgeous symphonically stylized, & there's a The Piano Guys instrumental crossing Adele's Hello with Mozart's Lacrimosa. So it's entirely possible for rap, hip hop or other contemporary genres to be embraced & enjoyed this way. Fusion is good!
I walked down the aisle to this at my wedding in 2018!!! Had a BLAST!!! It was phenomenal! My brother walked me down and we had such a good time with this! "GET READY"! LOVE IT!!!
These guys have played for Aerosmith, Tom Petty, Lupe Fiasco, Linkin Park, Alicia Keys, the Roots, Kanye West, etc. Very talented. My kids and I met these guys, they did a Masterclass at a local college in my area, they are such, nice, kind, patient guys. They remain humble despite their growing fame. All the students got to improv with them individually and learn how to loosen up on their string instruments, kids that are used to playing nothing but classical music. During the masterclass the students got to play alongside them and learn how to improv a little! The band they tour with is very talented as well! They did an actual concert at the college later and the tickets were sold out!

No Lie. No Exaggeration. My son, 2 & 1/2 years old, has played this video about 10 times a day for the past 3 months. My wife and I make sure to check #BV every time they come to LA. Last summer, they did a show at McArthur Park. My son got on stage with his fisher price guitar and random white stick used as a make shift bow. BV showed major love to him, acknowledged him, the crowd showed love. TBH, as a proud dad, I shed a couple of tears as my son was on stage not making any noise, yet making print smile. #Peace #BlackViolin #GETREADY!!!!!!!!
@dwthomas, I agree with you, however, this song was, in fact, used in the opening credits of a short lived FOX TV show, "Pitch", which was about the true story of the 1st female major league baseball pitcher. I really liked that show. When I saw the show, I recognized the song. Found this video to show to my students, who are from diverse backgrounds and heritages. What's even cooler, I live/teach in the same county where these young men grew up and attended school and learned to play. I was the cool teacher that week. It also reminds me of the gospel song, "I've Got the Victory"
Let me paint a picture... someone wakes up and gets dressed, opens the door to a gym and the bass drop and they are going hard weight training, running, pull ups etc and this is PLAYING in the background 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I just want to add my two cents.. "Do it, babies." I love it. Are people realizing that talent is God given. And just like our pets, as long as we love them, we are loved by them. You are beautiful. 🎉
Thank you Orchestra teacher for showing me - us - this. Now my head is full of the mkst amazing hip-hop songs I've ever heard. I have become a BIG fan now.
2 weeks in love with the notes i'm getting on the fingerboard with the violin. I had to buy a second violin because the first i bought was a dud (the neck was not made right), but it came with a good case. Still in my lower 50's i wish someone would had put this instrument in my hands 40 years ago. :) I'm even getting good draw sounds on the bow now... but like i said i'm two weeks in. Now starting to look at the strings and finger placements (but still at this point cheating, and a lot of the notes are coming naturally to me, on the fingerboard, not necessarily using the right fingers at this point. Eventually... I will have unlearn what I have learned. ;D
Imagine these guys building up the tension during certain movies. That'll be awesome. What these guys can accomplish with a violin is a talent that almost got lost.
Wish they would show more positive images of young black men. Every black man is not a thug. Young black men need more of this. I love it and always say it starts at home with your children. You have to teach them.
Media, Mainstream media and the other outlets that depict black men as a "threat." Some of the biggest strongest men are BABIES, PUSSY CATS, and TEDDY BEARS but still is seen as a threat in others eyes because of pigmentation(!)
Here's a start. But young black men need to MAKE that image a reality like these guys did. I don't know anything about the guys in the video. But I can tell you that I'm better for have watched it. THATS real positivity imo.... Just subscribed and if I find them withing 150 miles of my home I'll happily buy tickets for a show!
I absolutely love this song, as well as the duo. It’s nice to see young black men doing something productive. I have a son that was inspired by them, and now has been playing the viola for 9 months now.
These guys bring a whole new level to hip hop. They are very, very talented. I am now a fan. All those haters giving thumbs down are just that--HATERS. SMH
For sure , it's definitely refreshing to see actual hard worker talent putting out music like this. Hey you should take a listen to "The times is now " by prolific, I perceive youl like it.
I have been playing violin for four years and I played yalls piece and i can confirm that thats one of my personal best favorites playing the violin keep up the work
Where have I been all my life? I just discovered these two OUTSTANDING young men. They came to Charlotte on February 15, 2022 and delivered a free concert for the 4th and 5th graders in CMS Schools. I was beyond jubilant that our students had a wonderful time...and so did I. @blackviolin THANK YOU for what you did for our students! One proud Strings Teacher😊
I saw Black Violins in Austin Texas. I love these men. They are talented and use their talent to inspire the youth. They did workshops at the schools. Their kids from elementary through high school in attendance at the concert. Keep doing what you do young brotha's
Same here back in the 80s during my middle school years. Carried my violin under my arm and next to my side so as not to look “nerdy” and to give myself a little “edge”.
Pure art should have no borders, no limits, no prejudices, no barriers, no lines of class, race, ethnicity, time or place. This is the light, against the existential darkness.
Damn I need a minute. That just blew me away. Shit like this is why I love the Internet. 20 years ago, these guys never coulda gotten big cause they're too different from mainstream music. But in 2015, unique artists can get themselves out there. Keep it up guys! You kick ass!
As a fellow violinist it’s take a long time and I lot of practice to be like this I played the violin for 9 years and with the current passing of my brother and listening to them I’m bout to start back practicing and learn this song for him I’m a lil rusty but probably not to far off cause violin was my life 💙💙💙💙
Violin has really come into its own. It has finally broke free from the classical/country typical stuff. David Garret takes his Stradivarius and plays AC/DC, Metallica, Aerosmith... The people that sit and listen to this type of stuff... are in some ways like the people who sat and listened to Paganini or Vivaldi back in the day. In a way, those guys were the "rock stars" of their era who took the violin and pushed it to new levels. Really, the ONLY thing I can possibly say on the negative side is that personally, I would love to see that electric switched out for a "real" one. You already have a old school viola, I just think you need to sport a violin :) You can pull so many different sounds and tones from a violin. I think the violin is the one instrument that does not NEED electricity as it can create its OWN electricity. People can rant all they want on this one but...... all I have is ONE word for ALL of them.... STRADIVARIUS!!!!!!
My students and I are so grateful to be able to enjoy your music in the virtual field trip! YOu just inspired some 5th graders to try orchestra in 6th grade! :)
Your sound is madness! It sounds like a war song, when I listen ... I do not want my limits ... but crush them! Good work ! Carry on ! allow you to use it for one of my videos?
I took my youth group to see them last week in Norfolk. Those young men put on an awesome show. I recommend everyone to support those young brothers. They truly inspired my youth to think outside the box ✊🏾✊🏾.
I'm working on my violin skills. I go to my private lessons every Tuesday and my teacher is the best. I'm doing so well with reading the notes without having to write them down . But when things got rough I told her I was going to start writing in my book and she said you better not or she would kick me out lol she's the great I'm going to bring her flowers this Tuesday to show her how much appreciate her. Thank you guys for the inspiration.

The violin is the most underrated instrument known world wide.
I have been waiting to find something like this for years!!! My life has officially changed
Laylaa S have you never heard of Lindsey Stirling?
Laylaa S listen to Damien Escobar... you're welcome
Laylaa S nice
And Josh Vietti

Wish they would show more positive images of young black men. Every black man is not a thug. Young black men need more of this. I love it and always say it starts at home with your children. You have to teach them.
Media, Mainstream media and the other outlets that depict black men as a "threat." Some of the biggest strongest men are BABIES, PUSSY CATS, and TEDDY BEARS but still is seen as a threat in others eyes because of pigmentation(!)
Jernell Allen 👍
Jernell Allen AMEN
Here's a start. But young black men need to MAKE that image a reality like these guys did. I don't know anything about the guys in the video. But I can tell you that I'm better for have watched it. THATS real positivity imo.... Just subscribed and if I find them withing 150 miles of my home I'll happily buy tickets for a show!
Renee Gray. Lol i love this comment
Such beautiful, dramatic and inspired music. Thank you.
2/16/2016.....BLESSED AND GIFTED!!
I absolutely love this song, as well as the duo. It’s nice to see young black men doing something productive. I have a son that was inspired by them, and now has been playing the viola for 9 months now.
I think this is such incredible music. I heard it on the first episode of "Pitch" and I can't get enough of it.
11 Years ago😢 😅 now is the right time to get attention again ❤ hip hop and classic violin
These guys bring a whole new level to hip hop. They are very, very talented. I am now a fan. All those haters giving thumbs down are just that--HATERS. SMH

They were my first concert 7years ago when I was 11-12 years old
I saw Black Violins in Austin Texas. I love these men. They are talented and use their talent to inspire the youth. They did workshops at the schools.
Their kids from elementary through high school in attendance at the concert. Keep doing what you do young brotha's
I heard an interview on NPR with these awesome guys! As a classically trained musician with very eclectic taste in music, I love this! Rock on guys!
Este som tá fantástico! Tenho 60 anos e amei esta mistura de violino com este ritmo, ficou demaissss !!!
This needs to be on TV and the radio everywhere.
Excellent group! I love to see Black men utilize their gifts! It encourages other young men to step out of their comfort zone. Y'all are awesome!
It almost brought tears to my eyes. Carrying a violin case through Stateway Gardens projects in Chicago. Y'all are making a violin cool thank you
Same here back in the 80s during my middle school years.
I love, love, love their music! So talented! Can't get enough!!
I’m glad they are violinists period, they are extremely talented! My class went on a trip to see them perform today and it was amazing.
Thr one is a violist

Why am I just finding them? Very talented and beautiful music! Bravo!
11 years and more … I can never get bored of listening to it
Wow!!! I am super impressed.
I saw them live in concert even took a photo with them they are amazing the music that violin is hypnotic I love the music and there virtuality ♥
My favorite instrument, this and the flute, are what I always wanted to learn to play❤
because of you guys, I am going to try and play the violin in high school! Your music gives me motivation and I thank you for that!
As a fellow violinist it’s take a long time and I lot of practice to be like this I played the violin for 9 years and with the current passing of my brother and listening to them I’m bout to start back practicing and learn this song for him I’m a lil rusty but probably not to far off cause violin was my life 💙💙💙💙
I’m a life long violinist. Keep a it. It might take years to get to a level you’re happy with, but it’s worth it.
I think they are so talented!!! Nice to bring a classical instrument to hip hop. It actually makes the music sound good.
Now this is Hip Hop I can really get into! And I'm 61.
STRADIVARIUS!!!!!!
check out 2cellos, they are 2 guys with 2 cellos :p
But they are also thinking outside the box
John Dalzell
That's the beat. 😒
LeonardusLeon they lit
Check out Tornado Rider
Stuff like this is inspiring me to play differently. Thank you for helping me break out of my shell.
These guys are awesome.
THE BEST MUSIC EVER! Taking the classical instrument of the violin and setting it to modern hip hop is beyond genius!!
Craig Hayes Just like an electric guitar playing classic Mexican Mariachi music
I discovered this while watching the Tv show Pitch and I love this. Where can I buy the song 'No fear'?
it hasn't been officially released yet so you can probably buy the song in a few weeks or so

Piercing, striking, extremely captivating, brilliant. Wow. I needed that. I was glued to this. Damn...
My students and I are so grateful to be able to enjoy your music in the virtual field trip! YOu just inspired some 5th graders to try orchestra in 6th grade! :)

It sounds like a war song, when I listen ... I do not want my limits ... but crush them!
Good work ! Carry on !
allow you to use it for one of my videos?
9 years later and I still vividly how my skin crawled with goosebumps to the groove
I took my youth group to see them last week in Norfolk. Those young men put on an awesome show. I recommend everyone to support those young brothers. They truly inspired my youth to think outside the box ✊🏾✊🏾.
Very nice arrangement. Still rocking to this in 2020.
When I listen to music on TH-cam - sometimes I click on something different - and this came up - awesome!!!!
I only have one word BEAUTIFUL!... A round of applause
