Is the pwm Flicker really that noticeable ? Also I can't afford the price of pro max and don't want to wait til I have enough. I'm coming from s22 ultra. That being said between the 15 pro and the 15 plus which would you recommend me buy.
I have been using my 15 plus since mid december 2023 and it was a much needed upgrade over my 7 plus. Battery life has been amazing with it, lasting me over 3 days on a 100-0 discharge.
Yo same i went from a 7 plus to 15 pro max and the difference is astronomical battery life also lasts me easily a full day of heavy usage

Apple accidentally gave 15 Plus a great battery and guess what, the 16 Plus is going to be the only iPhone that will see a *reduction* in battery capacity later this year.
At this point I'm convinced the 4th model iPhone is just there to sell all other models and it's very sad considering the cult following the mini had.

I bought my iPhone 15 Plus back in March for my birthday and I am happy with it.
Funny how I bought it for my few days late birthday gift in mid February and the exact same green one like in this video. Coming from an S20 Plus. Only missed the 120Hz for the first few days. But everything else. Cameras (especially video recording), microphone quality, speakers quality, screen quality, just miles miles better. Not much surprising for the price of the upgrade.

I would buy an iPhone 15 Plus but if I upgrade to any phone, I have to get the iPhone 15 Pro Max because of the PWM, I was at a concert back on Friday and was taking pictures with my iPhone 12 Mini but I had to borrow my dad's iPhone 15 Pro when it started because I was getting headaches and I could not look at the screen anymore. Other then that, if I did not have to deal with PWM, I'd buy it! Thank you for the video, Aaron! It was a great video!

I have a 15 plus for about a month, no issues at all, nice brigth screen, the cameras are good, I upgrade from a 12 pro max, pretty happy with this one.
Bad news for those who is waiting for the iPhone 16 Plus, they decreased the battery capacity. But the iPhone 15 Plus is amazing!

Just got my 15 Plus after regular 12. Honestly, it’s perfect for me. I don’t mind the absence of ProMotion if it helps get more battery life, I would have turned it off anyway (I don’t know if it’s an option).
And screen is big, bright and just… well, amazing. I think finally Apple found good balance for Plus model. I don’t need nor want “pro” features, but I still want big phone with good display and as good of battery life as possible.
More outdoor videos, gives the video more of that spring/summer time vibe ☀️👍

I love my iPhone 15 plus great battery for sure. All depends what I do. Overall very smooth. I do have trouble with my WiFi switching to 5G
The iPhone 15 video recording reveal was actually insane. I was honestly blown away by the quality of this video so far then BAM apparently you've been recording on the 15 all along. Its a true testament to the quality of iPhone photography and videography.

Great update video. Almost upgraded to this from my 12PM but decided to wait for 16PM. Suggestion, when showing screen 2:59 navigation, dark mode would be better to use as it’s easier for viewers to see.
You can’t see it in sunlight very well when you are outside or under bright lights because it just causes a huge amount of reflections

I got an iPhone 15+ because it was the newest phone at the time which I could afford. I had to shell out money anyway for another iPad mini and all new USB-C cords and bricks as well.
My iPad mini 4 had poor diagnostics and its battery could not be changed and my used iPhone XS had too cracked a back glass to have its 80% battery changed so I had to get all new stuff.
Splurging a few hundred clams more for the iPhone 15 pro or PM really was a non-starter.
I can upgrade my reg 13 in October I’m definitely gonna pick this up in yellow this will make a great 2nd phone and it will be cheaper even tho I think it’s a watered down 14pm it’s still nice

I love the 15 series i think they are great... Still using my 13 regular with 256gb it's 2 years old now with a battery health pf 94% 😊 i use it for work n personal use n as much as i love the 15 series i just felt wouldn't upgrade till iphone 16 😊

also, I love my phone a lot. It was worth it, I was leaning towards the pro max but this was budget friendly. I have tested the battery to its limits and I got like ~12-13 hrs screen on time on full charge (I am a heavy user).

My 13 Pro Max is sitting at 91% ( I expect it to go down to 90 any time now) 29 months now. I don't charge it fully as much any more, but it's been pretty good. Will be trading it in this falll on a 16 Pro Max, as I trade every 2-3 years, and AT&T always gives me a good trade value.

is it just me or does 60hz on Pro iPhones feel laggier than native 60hz iPhones? I recently got the 15 Pro Max and its 60hz is unbearably laggy
With so many shortcuts to reduce screen dimming automatically and closing apps, my iphone 13 lasts 1 day or more easily with good usage. i dont play games.. i will plan to upgrade to 15 Plus when 17 is released.. I hope that will last 3 days with the same settings..
I heard somewhere that the reason for slower USB-C port was actually due to the reuse of the A16 Bionic from previous Lightning-equipped phones. Seeing as those devices were also limited to USB 2.0 transfer speeds, it’s likely that the A16 Bionic just doesnt have the IO controller/USB controller interface required to support USB 3.0. Where, by contrast, the A17 chip was designed with USBC and high speed data TX could be supported at the silicon level. Just something i heard though, and it makes some sense. hopefully this will not be an issue that persists into future models though.

he reason you buy the 15 plus is you want the bigger iphone experience but dont need an 15 pro. The lack of 120 hz at the price is a bigger issue for market parity (even If I am in the 120 hz is overrated and I turn it off camp).

Got the iPhone 15 Plus last Sunday in Singapore. Amazing battery life and the display is nice. The 120Hz doesn’t really matter to me

afaik the usb c is slower on non pro as it recycles last years chips that dont support usb 3 speeds. so its just convenient for apple without being intentional.
Apple force us to buy the Pro‘s. And yes the difference between 60hz and 120hz is huge ! Have the Xr since 2018 and the normal 15 feels slow laggy as my Xr. 60hz in 2024 is not normal. All cheap Android phones have 120hz.

I get horrible battery life on my iPhone 15 plus even with most battery optimization options off like background app refresh. I don’t even get 12 hours at 98% battery health. Am I missing something?
That’s way more than you would get today with the other phones from Apple
I think to Apples defense I have to mention, that the A16 processor lacks the USB C module unlike the A17 pro chip. The A16 was designed for the slow lightning port with USB 2.0 speed…like the 15/15 plus has with it’s slow USB C port…so I think this is the official technical reason…otherwise they should have put the same processor in every model like they once did back in the 13 series but with some variations.

I’m using a 12 Pro Max 256GB the blue one. And I love it but it does get hot playing games like Roblox
I’ve always thought the Plus models were a cash grab like you said. They really don’t need both the regular 16 and the Plus.
The processor is absolutely fine and fast enough to play "AAA". The issue is the amount of RAM. Those games are requiring at least 8GB.... That's why RE and others are supported on M1 which is actually A14 architecture, but it has 8GB of RAM. Few chineese tech channels ran without problems RE on A14/15/A16. A17 Pro is barely any faster than A16. Tests are everywhere. (because it's still based on A16 architecture)

i find it weird that the animation speed would depend on the refresh rate.
I’ve been saying it for years, microstutters with animations and scrolling is a MAJOR issue with iOS, for me I first picked up on it with iOS 14 but it was likely introduced with iOS 13. I seem to notice it a lot more than others since my eyes are very sensitive to framedrops but it’s there on every iPhone model regardless of ProMotion. It’s significantly more prominent on older devices or ones with a long running OS build. I contacted apple about it a few years ago and they claimed it’s under investigation and it still hasn’t been fixed. I doubt it ever will be tbh.
Ok I’m glad I saw your comment about microstutters because people in the comments make it seem like it’s the 60hz the issue. I need to upgrade because I have an xr. I want pink. I’m now noticing micro stutters on my xr.
@@tmn8547 upgrading won’t fix it at all. Like I said it’s on every iPhone model. Until apple AND app developers explicitly fix it, it’ll be there no matter what.
I had an iPhone XR for 5 years and no micro stutter. It is still very fine to use.
My battery health on 15 plus is down to 98% for 50 charge cycles
I really like the non-pro iPhones , they are so light and I think most people don’t use extra telephoto lens and only the main and ultra wide lenses enough for them ,plus in the day to day use you can’t tell the difference between A17 pro and A16 Bionic , personally the 60 Hz display is the only dealbreaker for me , and that’s the only reason I’m going with the pro, If they bring Promotion to regular models i’m never buying a pro again
This is why they’ll never introduce 120 HZ to non pro models. It gives them a reason to charge more for & force & or entice consumers into getting the pro models.
What’s sad is, it’s a very basic feature that you can find in a $200 - $300 android. Apple’s so petty when it comes to this.
I really hope that OnePlus continues to improve on their phones & at the same time maintain their prices. That’s the biggest problem in the U.S. phone market. There isn’t enough competition.
17.5 beta decreased my battery health from 100% to 99% … I quickly went back to 17.4.1 on my 15 plus 😅
The beta did not decrease battery health. It just measures it after you install an update.
I cover my iPhone 15plus with the pelican case and it works with magnetic devices
I love my plus better than pro max I don’t make professional videos so I don’t need the extra camera the weight and battery life are amazing
I have used the iPhone 15 for quite a while and mine is the same color with yours. My only concern is that I set my phone to charge only to 80%, but sometimes it charged to 90% which I believe a system bug. Other than that, I don’t have any problems using this phone so far.
It is indeed not the best phone and could’ve been better considering its price. But overall this is a good phone.
Thats not a bug, read again on battery section. They need to occasionally charge up to 100% randomly to calibrate the capacity of the battery
