    This is nothing short of magic, John, the way you've made the guitars and rhythm section come alive and added a whole new dimension of...chug. The first time I heard this remix, I stood up to headbang along to it (and I'm in a wheelchair, so that should say something..)

    Many a musician/writer/artist, like myself, is long on creativiety, short on technology. How you meld the right & left brained wizardry is staggering. The mastery & magic of your practical artistry is like another language from another planet. You have every right to be emotional & proud. Thnaks for your talents. May your tribe ever increase...

    Congratulations John. Many thought Quo had lost it by then. You've proved that they hadn't. Others tried to hide it. Rossi, for some reason, had decided he didn't want to bless us with anymore of those amazing solos. Mores the pity😢 The rest of the band were as tight as a ducks behind

    My favourite song Rockers Rollin, I know Ricky would of loved to of heard this re-worked, and your passion on his song. I was talking to our dear friend Jackie Lynton yesterday who told me (as always with Jack) some very funny stories with their writing sessions. The emotion is what makes the best songs..Thank you John Xx With Love Patty Parfittx

      Whenever Jackie turned up at the studio it would be all over. He alway had us in stitches.
      Rockers Rollin’ is a brilliant tribute to them both. « Old Grey Bucket » Jacks famous racehorse. Please say hi from me it’s been a very long time. I’m working on « For You « now should have it completed this week. Be great to see you if you’re ever on the shores of California. Until then love and hugs John xxx

      Jackie had been in good form when I had seen him and his band at the New Day festival back in August. His band played that song in which they do a few bars of some Quo favourites, from memory Again And again, Caroline and Down Down? Afterwards Jackie stood in the crowd to watch the band Focus. He had been just a few yards from us and I thought about having a quick chat but decided to leave him alone to enjoy Focus!

    John, I'm not surprised you got emotional. I sat watching the last minute or so with tears in my eyes too. When those four were good, they were unsurpassable at what they did. The fact that those of us too young to see the FF first time around got to witness the honest and raw brilliance of them in full flight during the two reunion tours was something that will never leave those who witnessed it; something none of us thought would ever happen. Thanks very miuch for taking the time to have shot, edited and published all these clips - they're truly fantastic and the remix is such an improvement on the original vinyl sound.

    It has only been a week or so since I discovered your channel John, and I am so glad that I have. I have been watching each video on your re-working of the Rocking All Over The World album with immersive interest. I have been a Quo addict sine 1971, so have really enjoyed this. I completely understand how emotional you got whilst listening to the interplay of the guys' guitar work. I have experienced this many times myself. Certain bits of certain tracks do it every time for me and, when I was in the crowd at their Frantic Four reunion concert at Wembley, I was completely sobbing during Francis' lead break in Railroad. Thank you so much for making these videos John. I will watch them many times over!

    Love this John. I saw Quo only once on a triple bill with Slade and Lindisfarne (?) at the Royal Melbourne Showgrounds in Melbourne, Australia, circa '73 (I was 16) and they were so, so tight. And loud! I also had an Electroharmonix 'Electric Tart' pedal around then which I only got rid of about 10 years ago. Stupid move, actually, they are really collectable these days.

A little tempo notch helps make these a little less obvious. The fact I got to even recover these 34 year old tapes was a miracle in itself and going into it was unknown if any of this would even be possible.

    John, absolutely fantastic watching these in depth breakdowns of the tracks. You mentioned the interplay between the band near the end of the track. After Alan left the band they lost that feel and the new material didn't have that intertwining if you know what I mean. RAOTW was my first SQ gig at the Glasgow Apollo. Will watch all of these with great interest and thank you for posting. I never knew there Morse code on a Quo track.

    Best video yet. Loved hearing the individual parts isolated. Is an amazing performance by Rossi on the outro. I was surprised how much I enjoyed hearing it at the original tempo there, I thought it wouldn't have the energy of the version that got released, but if anything I think the slower pace gives the track a bit more power.

I just love hearing all the ins and outs of how the recordings happened and what was used etc, the same as when Pip was posting on the old message board, thanks again 👍

    What more can I say, that Raymond hasn't said. Absolutely love what you have achieved!!! Now, what about doing it for the IYCSTH album and let the world hear the 8+ minute Accident Prone? Or is that just a rumour?
    I've read that you are willing to do it, but on who's initiative is it to start it and are the tapes in the same conditions as the ROATW ones?
    Sorry for asking that many questions, but hey.... Exitement is running down my veins watching what magic you can do with this project and the love and emotion you, as a huge fan, are putting in this brings out the Quo fever up to the max again.
    Thank you soooo much!!!

    Weirdly I prefer the original on this song, the groove seems more natural. It works better for me if it's a little messier for this song, also missing some parts on the remix version.
    But it is a great sound :)
    Also thank you for deciding to share the ending. Very moving to see the emotion and passion behind it. I'm getting choked up myself hehe..

    incredible videos...obviously the most important tool in these videos are the engineers hearing..i often wonder how the guys in recording studios know their hearing is spot on !.i know the light indicators give you levels but.do they get thier ears checked to make sure one ear is as clear as the other and also how do you determine if these mixes are also suitable through headphones and not just bare speakers ?

    • @johneden-producer4614
      @johneden-producer4614  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Pardon what did you say? sorry I was reading with the wrong ear! Seriously though Angela a couple of great questions you raise. I can't speak for others but in my earlier years I was guilty of high level monitoring in the studio. I did regular checks with a Harley Street audiologist Dr. Valentine Hammond and remarkably no loss developed. As years went on I found my monitoring levels reduced and I worked on smaller systems with less SPL (sound pressure level). Last year was my last check up and I have no loss in either ear. In England there is a group of physicians that specialize in working with musicians and deal with regular checks and in ear monitoring (www.musicianshearingservices.co.uk). I think the in ear monitoring is the biggest concern now for performers but also the public as we have become so connected to ear buds that potentially can deliver very high level SPL direct to the ear. But you know Angela hearing is just one component of mixing. For me its an art form like painting a picture sonically, you need passion and understanding of layering the colors of sound, its an emotional process creating a mix. Your 2nd question asks about the different listening platforms mixes are checked on. How I work is that I also will listen across 3 other systems in addition to my main control room monitoring. My car, a domestic home system and headphones are my final checks and this happens pre and post the mastering stage. I hope this helps answer your questions Cheers, John

    One little question though, was there any musical point to the morse code or was it just to insert a 'secret message'? Seems quite an extravagant use of a track!

    When I first heard this, I loved it, but I thought you'd overdone it a bit with the "rawness"; the guitars seemed to be panned so hard, so high in the mix (especially Francis towards the fade end), and yeah, so raw! Totally awesome, but it didn't seem to fit with the other remixes on the album as a whole. But watching this video, it all makes sense. You remix really IS Rocker's Rollin; this song needed this mix, you nailed it!

    • @johneden-producer4614
      @johneden-producer4614  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ayeesea you made the connection to the emotion I was feeling in the rawness this song needed. It was the mix above all others that Francis had the most connection with. Actually it surprised me because its not his song but there is something in this that shows a total connection that is the true essence of what was Status Quo

    Im a Quo fan from the beginning, bought every LP and then CD's. This is all too technical and way over my head. What i do remember is absolutely hating the "limp" production of "Rockin All Over the World". Great songs, hot playing by the band, but the sound was like listening through a window. I wanted to kill the producer responsible for stuffing up my music idols album. What i hear here is redemption! After what... 30yrs? Is there a new CD? Can i buy it? Quo owned that Fogarty song. Thank you.... finally.... before i die.

    Fake video. The subtitle says "Status Quo - Rockin 'All Over The World" but there is no Rockin' All Over The World song. You have fooled all fans of Fogerty & SQ music. You talk for half an hour without saying anything. What is this video for anyway? You are only promoting yourself but in a bad way by deceiving people with the title of the video.

      Pero there is nothing Fake or deceptive about my video as you publicly claim here. The album title is Rockin’ All Over The World. The next line describes its my Remix and the 3rd Line which you may have missed is the song title Rockers Rollin’ to which the content of this video relates. I’m sure fans of the band on here will add comment to the inaccuracies of your statements.

      Everything you wrote is completely wrong. You are not a Quo fan, otherwise you would know the song Rockers Rollin'. As a Quo fan you would also know that John Eden (whose videos are truly excellent) played a highly important role in Quo history. You are not even able to read the title of the video correctly. It would be better to delete your insulting and silly comment.
